I love this one. You’ve really opened my understanding of the area where I grew up. And although I took Earth sciences at Saddleback College and many geology field studies, none that close. Always to more well known and iconic destinations like the Sierras, Death Valley, Grand Canyon. Not once did my professors take us to Dana Point or Laguna. Thanks for the virtual tour of my former backyard.
This is so informational, helpful, and you are quite entertaining!! I live in this area and have always been enamored with our geology! Unfortunately did not get my degrees in geology so have been learning on the fly! This is a bastion to me 😊
That was interesting. I love understanding what I’m looking at. I retired last fall. Can’t wait to travel the US and Canada and learn about geology on the way. I really enjoy your videos. Happy New Year!!!!
I was surprised too! The San Onofre Breccia outcrop is very subtle and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Use 5 Oaks Trail to Moulton Peak to see them all!
OMG dont remind me of poison OAK! I once got the worst ever in my life rash from rambling thru the brambles on the way down the cliffs to the beach in San Francisco!!! yikes
Love this channel. Needs way more subs.
Very much digging your video series! Your phrase, "Let that sink in" has become iconic....
Excellent, thank you! We all look forward to more of your trips.
I do like it when you’re telling us the story.
Thanks!

Another excellent and informative video!! Thanks Todd. HNY!🍾🥂⛏
Thanks Dan! Appreciate that.
Love it. Keep on with these type of videos. See you in CWU Geology 101 class chat.
Thanks Kyle. Shhhhhh no talking during class. It triggers Ned Zinger. 😁
Love your teaching style. Thank you for another great video. 💖
Thanks Cathy. I appreciate the feedback.

Congratulations on retirement! More time to explore, no doubt! Get out there! Thanks for the kind words.
Great tour of Orange County (where I once lived and worked) ... yup the uplifted and rolling hills of an ancient seabed shoreline.
Thanks John! Great geologic history here in the OC.
If you come back to Laguna Beach take the Laurel canyon trail. There is a nice, tall dry waterfall. I would love to hear the geology on it.
Woah! Didn’t realize San Onofre Breccia could be found in Aliso Woods Canyon! Gotta check it out soon! Keep it up 🤙
PS. Gotta get some HCL to test out limestone outcrops! Super helpful when identifying sedimentary rocks

@geologically speaking Like your videos but I have always wondered about the little knob hill in the quail hill area the rock looks different.
Can you make video on walnut canyon and powder canyon, I see there's a lot of uplift in that area. I would like to learn more
Consider doing similar on Mars videos
Would be better if you take videos with your phone in tilted in landscape mode so we can see more of what you are talking about.
Yeah sorry. I originally made it for Instagram. I need to redo it in landscape mode.
And now there's a new layer formed. The aluminumis canis layer. 😅
