I am not a Box/Bag guy. I prefer to shop deals on Omnia, Tackle Warehouse, Discount Tackle, and a few other sites. Most sites are $50 for free shipping. I watch a few UA-camrs unboxings like on your channel, to see what is new or different that I might be interested in trying. Once I know what I need or want, I then like to pick the brand, size, and colors of the lures that will work best for me based on the water that I fish.
Like some other comments here I get 6th sense, Monsterbass and occasionally Lurenet bank and creek bag. I think that I may be addicted but I do try and use all of the baits I get at least once. I also now have a small bait shop in my basement lol. Good video guys. Thanks.
Good job guys! I struggled with getting a subscription. I have a several hundred dollar order built to send in. I added and removed a 3 month subscription several times. Currently it isn't on the order. After your video that included unboxing their brand I couldn't justify getting the same stuff over and over!
In 2022 I wanted to add to my small assortment of classic hard baits. So, I joined the 6th Sense 6Sack for 1 year. In 12 months I received 2-Munch40, 2-Curve55, 2- Curve finesse, 8-Crush25, 6-Crush50, 3-Crush75, 4-Crush100, 1-Snatch70, 2-Thud70, 2-Quake70, 2-Quake80, 2-Cloud9, 1-Swank66, 2-Swank77, 2-Axis metal2.0, 1-Speedglide, 1-Speedwake, 1-Catwalk, 1-Dogma100, 1-Movement80, 1-Spashback70, 1-Vega Frog, 1-Flat FinesseF4, 1- Duke65, several packs of Stout WG, Jugular, Shacky head, jig head hooks, Swim Jigs, pitching jigs, 23packs of soft plastics and 1 slow sink 6”Trace (in a color not intended for my area unfortunately) BUT NOT one single Provoke Jerk-bait WTH!!! The subscription was good to easily acquire a wider selection of hard baits and to help me compare baits and develop preferences. Overall, it was a good experience and education. As for what it would take for me to rejoin another fishing subscription box… A hell of a lot of customization. Which in the end would just about the same as placing an order with one of the many tackle shops. Thanks for all the videos gentlemen.
Did u ever take the time to count up the retail cost of the "booty" u grabbed up during ur subscription to compare what u got @ sub price vs retail cost of the same gear? Just curious if ur really making out or if ur only saving $30 but getting a majority of shit you'll never use anyways...
When I got into fishing crankbaits I got a garage sale sac from 6th sense. Always a sucker for that. I don’t do subscriptions. I buy what I like and try new baits all the time and I usually can get value watching the different sales more than the mystery box of baits. I do like when the you tube guys do a partnership with monster bass or bait works because I can support their channels and get something tangible in return that I usually have watched them use on their channel.
I have had most of these subscriptions. I have to say the one I have like the best and have kept the longest is the 6th Sense. I also had one for awhile that I stopped late '23 was from Dark Horse Tackle. I usually just keep the lures I like from them and then set the others in a large tote to give away to the scouts or new anglers. It has been nice to have the stuff to giveaway.
February MB box is my 1st one ever. I'm going to see what's in the March box, but if I had to make the call based on the 1st one I'd be cancelling. The book that came in the box is mostly an ad, and the 1/2 the QR codes lead to 404-page not found on the MB site. I could deal with that, but the value in the box is mostly tied up in a super high end lipless, which is nice but you could have 4 that catch fish for what this hand painted dude goes for. And then there's the setup for beta-testing a MB plastic. Very nice terminal, but I didn't agree to pay for the privilege of working for MB for free - oh and the plastic they want me to test is not even remotely appropriate for Feb in the northeast. In the end the contents of the box is a good value, but seems like strange choices to me. The educational value of this box is, so far, drastically over-sold. Unrelated note - I caught my PB largemouth in January using a bluegill color pattern spoon. Almost fell out of the kayak I was so surprised. Was trying to catch trout...
"Their" soft plastics are actually being made by grandebass in Texas. I support them for the time being, I have a feeling mb is buying them out and I no longer support mb for personal reasons.
I'm in college right now so I don't do a lot of winter fishing. So I basically just subscribe to a $20MTB box to stop myself from spending $50-$60 a month boredom buying baits online during my non-fishing months. By the time spring and summer roll around I've stacked about 4-5 boxes of baits and cancel the subscription until the next winter.
The last box I got was the Monsterbass 2022 January Z-man takeover box. For me the 'in house' brands drove me away, especially from Monsterbass, too many misses to believe that the hard baits are worth $10-$12 just because it has your brand on it...
First off, super helpful vid guys. thanks. I've had pretty good experience with the mtb ... all around the board though companies have a tendency to pick 2-3 items from their clearance rack to put into their tackleboxes. I disagree that MTB is sacrificing For a while on the Karl's site they had discounted Googan Jr Scouts for like 5-6 bucks... I can't find a better deal for a jerkbait of decent quality, they've since gone back up to the 10 dollar range which is a bummer. But especially discounted googan scouts are legit, particularly at their price point. Not really seeing the difference between an mtb pro and the monsterbass, but those two were definitely strongest imo. Great stuff, dug the customized / special edition baits coming out.
Mtb: one, their brick and mortar stores no longer exist. Two, they have sold the company and it is still not clear if the subscriptions are even going to continue. I'd seriously suggest staying away from the mtb boxes until the dust settles.
I've never done a fishing box. Up here in Alberta Canada we have no bass and the boxes that I have seen for other species just don't appeal to me. I did do a subscription box through Explore Magazine for their camping/hiking gear. I lasted 2 years before the repetitiveness got insane. I mean how many compact hiking stoves does one person need.
I'm about ready to launch my website. I've been pouring plastics/lead, tying jigs, etc. since 1994. If I ever offer boxes/bags, I'd never buy someone else's stuff to resale. It will only be the stuff that I make. Lots of people buy on Amazon and Temu and claim it's a subscription box. As a little guy in the business, you have to be on top of things. I plan on doing a set amount of subscriptions to start and have 2 to 3 months ahead of schedule. It's in the future, but not a priority right now. Tight lines!
It's never "worth it". I'd rather spend money on things I know I'll use/need. THAT SAID - it's a cool gift to get random lures every month, especially for the chance to try stuff you wouldn't normally use.
Tons of value in this video, thank you guys for play another video like this. There is a indescribable value of honesty.... Rare, and yet very appreciated
I get the 6th sense sack. Love it! Quality products all around. I also get Monsterbass. Signed up for a 6 or 12 month subscription to get free rod and reel. The products have been pretty good. I love their UA-cam Live segments and Rick Patri’s UA-cam unboxings which keep me coming back for more. Awesome customer service! I cancelled Mystery Tackle Box as most of the stuff was cheap and repetitive.
@@chrisditalia4497 it was a David Dudley rod and I believe it was the matching spinning reel. It was a while ago. Basic stuff but at the time I was building my rod selection so I wasn’t too picky.
I bought a 3 month subscription to MTB. Black Friday just to test it. I wouldn’t complain about what I got. Good brands. Tend to like Monsterbass better. I did order the Z-man takeover box but they mis-shipped wrong box. Worked with support. Got my box and also they let me keep this month’s box they accidentally sent. I will continue to order from them. Great support.
Just found out this channel recently and I just want to say I love the videos man. Nothings better than wholesome talks and honest reviews about fishing.
The only one I really ever considered was the 6th sense bag. Mostly because I do like their cranks a lot and the random chance of getting a trace/draw or one of the upcoming releases. But I can’t justify it solely for the fact that I have no confidence in some baits and I can’t get the colors I like/know work. Sure the custom colors are cool but not enough for me to justify subscribing when I can get baits that will end up just being a waste of my money.
2nd product (blue hooks) is usually tied with a snell knot. Usually seen as ocean fishing. 3rd bait (spoon) is killer for winter baits. Cast, let it fall to the bottom, lift up until you feel the line tighten up and drop it. Repeat until you feel a bite. We were contacted by some of those subscription box companies and its not the best "deal" on the baitmakers side.
Not sure. Haven't bought one in awhile. Almost got the Zman takeover MB box. It is fun to get something you might not purchase without it coming in a box too. That's a buttery hat hanger back left.
We actually got a sample of the 6th sense panorama before they was released. We also got the congo craws and the bongos before any release. Everyone with the sack got them though. Would like to see them put more of the new baits and colors in the sack over same ole same ole often.
I used to be a mtb subscriber but then i started getting crap or oversized things for michigan, and also always cheaper stupid or basic colors. I then subscribed to 6th sense and like you said got 40 crankbaits and not even different ones, the same ones just ‘new colors’. Just got annoying, a lot of the lakes around me are so grassy its hard to even fish most crankbaits, didnt need them and got tired of it. Not worth it in my opinion. I just buy $200-300 at a time and usually do it during site sales so i stock up for the year. Much more worth it, plus its baits i know i will use in colors i will use. Great video, nostalgic. I remember one of the first videos i watched was a warrior tackle box opening. Great video
This was a great video. I got the 6 month sub to Monsterbass as valentines gift from my lady last year. And ended up keeping it 3 extra months. It’s not a terrible box, but I feel like it’s more for new fishermen that aren’t sure what to start with. My favs were the Strike King, and Zman take over boxes. And I love their shirts and hoodies. I also gave my 13 year old the 13 fishing reel that was the freebie, and he loves it. Other than that. Only 1-2 items per month actually worked in my area. I still have a plastic tote somewhere with things I didn’t even open. But never had a month where I was disappointed in my box. And it turned me onto my new favorite scent maker. Liquid Mayhem, and the monster bass top water walking bait, which I can’t remember the name of slayed early fall last year. I watched some un boxing videos on the others, and there’s no way I’d buy one. Minus maybe the 6th sense sack, but it seems to come with a lot of orange, and craw color lures. That only work very specific months in my local lakes. And I don’t need more a gear that only works a month a season. I’d rather spend $50 a month and hand pick my selections. I just ordered $200 worth of 6th sense gear, and can’t wait for the waters to warm up so I can try it. Especially the 5 & 6” Trace, speed glide, and provoke 97 And a second shout out this week ? Y’all are gonna make me blush 😁
I think I like watching unboxings more than purchasing them these days lol. I've had MTB a couple times, I've had Monsterbass during their takeovers and teaching months on dropshot, Carolina rig, Texas rig, and a few others. The comment section is gonna hit it home when it comes to the 6 sack where it feels like u feel like ur getting stuff that's not selling like that swank 77x or that axis 2.0 (still a cool looking bait tho) along with the clout worms and divine shaky heads. 3 months seems like the more reasonable way to go just to see what ur getting into for the most part. The garage sack is by far the best part of 6th sense because it really is a mystery and in terms of value holy smokes. Also I'll take that lanyard off ur hands if you don't want it lol.
I did Monster Bass for a year. Way too many weird off-brand baits and types. Canceled. Would much rather spend $35 a month on baits I really need. Main reason I signed up for 1 year at once is I got a free Lunkerstick rod out of it. Rod came and has tiny micro guides. Which I am not a fan of but I use it with straight fluoro so I make it work.
6th sense has gotten a lil better than it was. I been in for 2 years plus. You definitely get duplicates but its stuff you burn through imo. But im a fan boy what do i know! I have all the unboxings on my channel if yall wanna see!
I reached out to Karl’s and got a response and they have done away with the members continuous daily discounts and are in place running intermittent weekly specials for members only “a few times a year”….still free shipping and the insurance. I dropped my 6th sense sack after a year as I kept getting similar baits-however, I buy so much from em I should be good lol. Great video nerds!
I prefer a subscription “bait”. A tackle shop in my area used to send out a custom color lure from a popular lure company, once a month. I saltwater fish mainly. The local shop partnered with a very popular lure company, Mirrolure. Mirrolure would do custom colors, as long as you purchased 600 units. That tackle shop would get a custom color of one of their lure models and ship it to you with a cool sticker each month. You couldn’t get those lures in those custom colors anywhere else. Unfortunately that shop went out of business due to unfortunate circumstances. They were still very successful and known up and down the coast, but had to close the doors 😢.
I really hope 6th Sense especially, watches this video to the end to see your suggestions. I think you were spot on with the limited edition and first release baits in the bags, as you mentioned. I don’t subscribe now, for the very reasons you mentioned, but if they did that, they’d have me hooked.
Nailed it. I had multiple subscriptions when I was new and have 0 of them now that I've gotten picky about what I use. I also have a gagillion Swanks and Crushes, etc. The custom colorways might bring me back, but definitely not for one of the "our brand only" type of subscriptions- unless it's Megabass.
I had mtb for about 2 years. I liked it cause it kind of forced me to use things out of my comfort zone. However they used to send like 2 crank baits a box. I haven’t had a mtb in 2 years and still have more cranks than I can use after losing half of them.
I’ve been getting 6thsense on and off for 3 years. First time I stopped was only cause I had a ton from them and had more than enough for fishing. Then I started it back up when they revamped the sack. Also side note it took alittle over two years before I got a repeat bait in the same color.
Yes….i find there is no need to buy their monthly sack if you buy the garage sack at the end of the year. You usually get all the baits from that year in that one big sack….
Ya it's like you get like 6-7 months of the 6 sack plus baits they wouldn't normally throw in there. I've gotten their high dollar swimbaits plus some Casey's customs. I even have the neck buffs or whatever u call them and use them throughout the year whether I'm fishing or doing lawn care. Sometimes I like when they throw the random stuff in there cause it can come in handy
To my understanding those eyeless hooks are for tying snell knots to and for fly tying I believe, I think some type of Japanese tactic uses them, I have never personally employed them.
ya I agree with 6th sense sacks did the sub for a year. Lots of good baits but was like getting the same stuff just different colors had like 5 crush mini 25ms and like 8 crush 50x.....i did get a trace 6" swim bait from one of the bags witch was awesome. ended up giving a few away to my fishing guys as Christmas presents.
I did get 6th sense sack and MTB. It just became to much of the same stuff. Now I get the Bento from TheHookUpTackle. The funny part is you can sell one of the pop maxs and it pays for itself.
I like the Bento Box. A bit pricey compared to other boxes but you do get limited edition baits and baits I would have never tried. IMO the value of the box is good. Especially it being JDM baits.
Short answer NO. But its complicated but if you dont know what your doing boxes force you to try something you would of never used or bought. The average weekend warrior, fishing is all about building confidence. When you get stuff that you're already not sold on, it just becomes a waste of time and money. Even for the more experienced fisherman, these just become junk in the tackle arsenal.
I've had an Elite MTB subscription for almost a year and a half now, I am just excited for the surprise and a challenge of catching something with everything sent. Had a 3 month Monster Bass and went back to MTB because they would send so much spam and e-mail about what was in my box and a video that would auto play on the 1st well before you would get the box that ruined any surprise of buying the box :/ I also did not like their "Take-Over" boxes as it limited the brand variety and I ended up with TWO in a row, one Z-man and one Lunkerhunt. *Also worth noting that the nearest BIG tackle store it almost an hour away from me
I'm still with monsterbass. Every time I've ever tried to leave, they've hooked me up with a super sick deal. I like the 6 sack, too, but they don't offer enough variety to keep me hooked. The last couple of years, I've just picked up a garage sale sack. And to be honest, I might still cancel because I'm not the biggest fan of monsterbass baits themselves
I subscribed to Monsterbass as a beginner and they have helped me figure out what baits and techniques I excel at and need work at. But I have gotten to a point where I don’t feel as tho the boxes are as good of a value to me as they once were. But still a good value.
I am a current monsterbass subscriber but chose not to renew. I feel like I get too many lures I won’t use and rarely get my preferred bait. I am at a point where I have a few of every type of lure out there and would rather spend money on the baits and colors I want.
first time ever purchasing a subscription bait box was last month, i went with monster bass (premium box 6 months) off impulse and the best %off deal i could find. Im typing this without watching the video. Hopefully i made a good decision and i'll let you know. First box was the zman box and i wasnt that excited. Seems like if you added the baits up you saving a few dollars. EDIT: so after watching the video, few things i noticed different in my MB platinum box. The baits were the same but the colors varied on a few items, more specifically the big TRD and hellraizer
I will say that 6th sense does something cool in that they have their bag bundles that isn't the subscription. I got their soft plastic bundle and all of the colors of their soft plastics in that bag were exclusives. I was stoked
I have the monster bass and 6th sense subscription which I love cause you get great products out of them and they are great about giving you stuff based on the time of year it is.
You hit the nail on the head w/ them taking the approach of Magic: The Gathering. MTG is getting into the serialized craze like Sports cards and offering variant prints that whales are just soaking up. If Zman released a box w/ exclusive colors and the chance for a rare lure / item, I'd be 100% in.
Pbj ned rig is killer in clear water its my favorite color and go to when the water is cear. Take 1/2 or3/4 inch off the big trd and put on a regular size ned head to give fish a little different look especially if you throw a ned alot. Pbj it works in 20 ft vis water pbj is a clear not dirty water color anything clearer than you would use green pumpkin in
I’m with you on the subscription box, there time has passed unless they reinvent how they do things. Not a terrible idea for a new fisherman in need of all kinds of baits and terminal tackle
Of the subscriptions you unboxed the 6th Sense subscription comes the closest to what you said your looking for in a mystery "box". Most months you do receive an exclusive color or an early release. Before the Panorama came out we got some, though it was a sample pack. The Congo Craw was just released. We got that a couple months back. And there are months where you get insane value when they include things like the Trace, which on its own is a $35 bait. That being said there are a lot of repeats, and unfortunately you unboxed last months subscription which was, in my opinion, one of the worst they've sent in a while. Getting my 2nd unusable lanyard was almost my breaking point. And if I get another hard bait in the Boiled Crawfish pattern I might lose my mind. But I tend to still think it's the top dog of the mystery subscription, and definitely closest to what you were describing.
I haven’t dug super deep to see if anyone does it. But I would be in if you got to pick individual baits/colors up to a specified value. For said discount. Most bait boxes just send discontinued and unpopular baits as filler. I also like the option to pick a region for bait selection
I was an ltb sub back when it first came out and it came with the golden ticket and they did the monthly live with prize drawings. Was pretty cool. Did mtb for a bit both were good then they started giving half packs of plastics then off brand lures all the time. 6th sack is by far the best I've never got a monster bass box but did get monsterbass lures in ltb box back in the day and they were good lures if it's the same company.
Recently just canceled my only subscription I've had. I won't name the company, but I have made the choice to reexpand my bait choices. To many companies that are making great baits these days. That being said I tend to look for deals and sales, and got to burn through some plastics before I can buy any more lol.
I actually bought a box a few years ago from simple fishing for walleye and actually had some really good stiuff in it and i was supporting kinda local in spruce grove alberta. I got there walleye box but they have a pike, bass, trout, walleye, multi species and ice box. Should check em out if you ever do this again they used to be subscription but now just do like mtb.
My last box for example I got some KVD, Berkley, yamamoto, Live bat and 13 soft baits and some hooks, rapala hard baits and spinner baits etc. No no name stuff.
I'm on the hard no side of boxes. It doesn't cost much to buy a lure or 2 to try, and you get the color you want. However for a new fisher, these boxes are useful for getting an assortment to get started. Although, it is still easier to buy a few lures here and there. Also, now that there is so much more information on the internet, it is easy to get an idea as to what you really need to put into your tackle box, and it will save you a ton of money to only get those few lures that you will use. So for me, that small savings really isn't enough to offset the cost of just getting the few lures you need/want, as well as a few spares and not have random things take up space on something you won't use.
I got rid of mb a long time ago. The box was going downhill, but being personally disrespected by Rick is what set me over the edge. That being said, the boxes last year would've been enough to get me to cancel. I do however have the 6th sense sack and couldn't be happier. Not every box is the best ever but you get a random $35 swimbait that isn't micro. The 6th sense thing is, they're supposed to send an exclusive, be it a color, new bait, or the swimbait that really boosts the value of the sack. I think there's only been the months that haven't had the exclusive, one being I didn't get an exclusive color, but they right bait. This months sack was actually really disappointing, no exclusive and a lanyard instead of an extra bait.
I sub to the 6th sac and I wouldnt go with any other I love their baits and I have also gotten 2 trace swimbaits in sacs over the year I've been subed to them
What’s up guys. I am a relatively new angler. I feel like we are in sync as if I think of a question that I have, and then y’all make a video about it right away. Thank you! God bless y’all!
Fascinating wrap up gents. I don't like "Subscription" anyyyythingggg, period. Butttt, if the manufacture gave me upper end, those new special release baits, those custom or super hard to get colors that would probably make me honestly consider a subscription. Currently they can all go pound sand.
Hey guys. Thanks for the good content. I’m just getting back into fishing and am researching good lures to use. I live in Canada and I don’t know what lures to use. But your videos are giving me some good ideas.
The points you made are exactly why I did a box for the first year I was learning to bass fish. At the end of the year I stopped due to my learning growth and what I gravitated toward in preference. No reason to buy a basic box when I can tailor my purchases towards something that suits me more. The only “box” I buy now are the selective bento boxes from the hook up tackle. I’ll be trying to get in on their monthly subscription next year when it opens.
Boxes from Mystery Tackle Box, MonsterBass and soccalled “suprise”boxes are not worth the price or subscriptions. Sorry. But its true. There is another UA-camr did an unboxing for one year’s worth of subscriptions. And out of the 12 boxes; only one box had DECENT baits/lures. The rest were caca baits.
@@aaanglers Totally agree 💯! I'm not sure why they wouldn't target the experienced market. Possibly for the reasons you stated. Experienced anglers know what they want and it's not as profitable for them to attempt it. Not all anglers are pokemon addicts 😂 But, your suggestion is spot on, put rare and uncommon items in or even give a chance at a possible reel or rod or gift card in say every 1000th box or something like that. Ppl love to gamble.
I subscribed to BASS and MTB when I first got into Bass Fishing but no longer do so, now that I know what I like to fish with. I think these boxes are good for beginner fishers or kids to help them explore new baits and tactics.
100%
I agree 100%.
Oh yeah the last straw for me was that LunkerHunt Monster Box. Canceled the same day
Like some other comments here I get 6th sense, Monsterbass and occasionally Lurenet bank and creek bag.

Smart tbh

How was the rod and reel?
@@chrisditalia4497 it was a David Dudley rod and I believe it was the matching spinning reel. It was a while ago. Basic stuff but at the time I was building my rod selection so I wasn’t too picky.
The wizard bait size 13 hooks they are typically used for trout and salmon and tied with a smell knot.
Dont forget about the lure insurance on karls club. They replaced a jackall gantarel that i cast off in a backlash
Just found out this channel recently and I just want to say I love the videos man. Nothings better than wholesome talks and honest reviews about fishing.
🙌
Great video, guys. Can't stand subscription boxes. I always thought they were just a bunch of overstock, clearance items.
Especially the 5 & 6” Trace, speed glide, and provoke 97
And a second shout out this week ? Y’all are gonna make me blush 😁
Heyyyyyyy!
@@paulglass7268 👋🏻😁
LTB is still a thing?
Spoon good for white bass or striper. Jigging over top
Bento box from The Hook Up Tackle is dope.
good luck getting on the list. I end up just going crazy during their sales
And very expensive
yeah love being apart of the bento box subscription. Seems to always have more than 100 bucks in value so has kept me pretty happy.
Biggest value I've found is the 6th sense garage sale sack $99.99 for over $200.00 in baits I love sixth sense baits
Z-man also
Yes….i find there is no need to buy their monthly sack if you buy the garage sack at the end of the year. You usually get all the baits from that year in that one big sack….
@@imjustsomeone7692 yeah , same here
Ya it's like you get like 6-7 months of the 6 sack plus baits they wouldn't normally throw in there. I've gotten their high dollar swimbaits plus some Casey's customs. I even have the neck buffs or whatever u call them and use them throughout the year whether I'm fishing or doing lawn care. Sometimes I like when they throw the random stuff in there cause it can come in handy
Spoons are actually pretty decent for bass especially small mouth
To my understanding those eyeless hooks are for tying snell knots to and for fly tying I believe, I think some type of Japanese tactic uses them, I have never personally employed them.
Yeah, but why put it in a general bass box? That’s the real question
@@aaanglers agreed
ya I agree with 6th sense sacks did the sub for a year. Lots of good baits but was like getting the same stuff just different colors had like 5 crush mini 25ms and like 8 crush 50x.....i did get a trace 6" swim bait from one of the bags witch was awesome. ended up giving a few away to my fishing guys as Christmas presents.
I buy mystery tackle boxes and googan squad boxes at walmart from time to time but ive never gotten a subscription
@@caesarcoloma4631 I’m currently overseas so I’ve just been collecting. It’s going to be nice to see it in person.
The Hook Up Tackle has been doing great on the Bento Boxes imo.
*Also worth noting that the nearest BIG tackle store it almost an hour away from me
For some reason I was unsubscribed from alot of my favorite youtubers. Not sure what happened? UA-cam messing with people's channels.
Weird
Those blue hooks in the LTB I’ve seen used to tie assist hooks in saltwater with a snell knot and that soon you could vertical jig for bass.
For me Iiving in the Midwest I'd reconsider getting a subscription box for the winter months just to get some extra baits before the season starts
I have been a 6 sack subscriber for about 2 years. I like their baits and what i do is i pause my scription for a few months at a time.
as a 6 sacker, that sack was not my favorite but in the december sack they included a trace along with the rest of the sack.
I'll take 6th Sense over any of them other ones. Better products and colors.
I have cancelled all of mine. MB was the last one I ended back in August of last year. Not upset with any of them just would rather pick my own baits.
Thanks for the vid guys. I stopped all my subscriptions, had em all. Too hit and miss for me. I have 100 square bills I’ll never throw
Ive seen six sense bags have high end swim baits in them
If you only do 3 months you are more likely to miss out on the really good boxes/bags
The hooks in the one box are designed to be snell-knotted I believe.
Need to check out Dark Horse Tackle! Only sub box worth buying imho.
Good feedback.
🙌
Recently just canceled my only subscription I've had. I won't name the company, but I have made the choice to reexpand my bait choices. To many companies that are making great baits these days. That being said I tend to look for deals and sales, and got to burn through some plastics before I can buy any more lol.
The actual mystery tackle box from carls is hot bunzzz everytime i copped.
I make packages for major brands for a living and can say you would be shocked to know how much of the total cost goes into packaging
Hey that cane thumper i got in white was KILLER on the river!
If you want to try some random tackle stuff that you wouldn’t normally they are not bad for a few months.
Thanks for all the time you two put into this review of different bags! Great for one time gifts!
I've had really great luck with Tackle Depot.
My last box for example I got some KVD, Berkley, yamamoto, Live bat and 13 soft baits and some hooks, rapala hard baits and spinner baits etc. No no name stuff.
The ltb box with the blue hooks you actually use a snell knot on that hook I’ve never fished it but some companies do make hooks like that
I'm on the hard no side of boxes.
I use hair tie rubbet bands and wrap them on the hooks for the lures saw it on northland
I tried quite a few of the subscription boxes then found monster bass a few years ago and haven't been disappointed yet.
Im a Hook Up Tackle Loyal customer. JDM Baits are LEGIT and Bento Boxes do have extreme value. 👍
@@pequenioedgarito3067 I absolutely agree. Currently, I’ve only been picking up their specially boxes, such as the crank bait one
First box looked like a mix salt / fresh box. I would used that spoon for bonito. I think I should fish
6th sense garage sack is great value. Just buy one when you need some new baits.
The postfly fly tying box is worth it and cool to do
Those hooks are supposed to be snelled I believe
I like the monster bass boxes I was subscribed to them for a year. A plus is when they have take overs I got the zman and strike king box
The whole concept is geared to the new angler. It's the bait they use to reel them in, pun intended.
But why not gear towards others too?
@@aaanglers Totally agree 💯! I'm not sure why they wouldn't target the experienced market. Possibly for the reasons you stated. Experienced anglers know what they want and it's not as profitable for them to attempt it. Not all anglers are pokemon addicts 😂 But, your suggestion is spot on, put rare and uncommon items in or even give a chance at a possible reel or rod or gift card in say every 1000th box or something like that. Ppl love to gamble.
Great look at the sub box world. Your direct approach/take is appreciated. We sent you an IG DM.
Thanks! We will get back to you!
I subscribed to BASS and MTB when I first got into Bass Fishing but no longer do so, now that I know what I like to fish with. I think these boxes are good for beginner fishers or kids to help them explore new baits and tactics.
Great content! Appreciate your view on these boxes! Thanks!!
I was subscribed to mtb for 3 months. I took the winter off, but will resubscribe un spring. I'm canadian so shipping takes between 2 and 3 weeks.
