Every time they try to create a new Knight Rider series, they make the same mistake. KITT will always be a black Trans Am in the popular consciousness, in the same way that Back to the Future will always be associated with a DeLorean.
I just wish they would stop trying to re make it, they will never be able to get that spark that the original show had, same with the A Team movie, Starskey & Hutch (that was really bad) I prey they never try to do an Airwolf re make, can you imagine if they tried to re do smokey and the bandit, christ alive it would be so bad pmsl, and then lets talk about every failed attempt at the dukes of hazzard, I love the General Lee but ouch it hurt to see those movies.

The voice is stupid it sounds like it was a voiceover by someone that doesn't know it's an action scene being voiced...ok I don't expect the AI to be excited but the car sounds like a tea mixing instructional voiced by someone that is really bored...
I disagree, I think it was Val kilmer, and even in the series he played it with the monotone voice, and arrogance the AI should of had, as it learned to be more human
It's Val Kilmer voicing the KITTstang. And the quality of the voice-over delivery is also down to the voice director. Because at the end of the day they're the ones who ok it. Yes. His delivery was monotone, but he was an AI that was still learning. If you watch the episode 'Fly by Knight' he as a lot more moxy on his tone similar to how William Daniels, the Original KITT (aka KITTPrime) had when he found his footing with the character.
why? if it is about a supercar and an hi-tech AI, and that is all about, as newer hi-tech is better. Everything else is just sentimentalism. It can be parallel talking about star trek, the same, old serie vs newer, olds look like cardboard mockups!. Newer is just spectacular.

This was a great reboot then Gary Scott Thompson came in and turned kitt into a transformer. Should have left everything as it was.
