it is indeed one of the saddest stories in divinity.
when even your own father does not want you...
alexander realizing at the end to help my character, was the ultimate arc for him. Once he realized how hard his advisors were playing him, he sacrifices everything to help me. i was truly sad when he died, but at least he can be remembered for his final redeeming act
So nice to see someone doing videos on divinity lore. I have almost 4 k hours in this game, mostly in the gamemaster mode set in the dos2 universe but sometimes its really hard to find lore about factions or characters outside the lore. Also nice to see someone agreeing that Alexanders story is quite tragic and brutal by just being a naive puppet by higher players in this world.
killing baby damian - noooooo too hard
killing your biological son - yeet
@@SeventhheavenDK people are idiotic and dumb af so in that sense it's almost realistic character writing.
4:22 To add on that: even if you kill him in the final battle of Fort Joy, he then is alive on the ship. I have literally seen him exploding into a pile of flesh during the battle, and there he was alive and well on the Lady Vengeance.
💯
If you then kill him on the ship, he will also just show up on the nameless isle.
I should know, I have his face in my inventory... 3 times.
He walked it off and got better, obviously ;-)
On my second playthrough I got curious as to what would happen if I were to kill him "for sure" during that battle.
The guy got Purged and still lived, somehow.
in the OST theres a bonus track that can be equated to Alexander and Lucian's relationship called Divine's Lament
I love your channel! I discovered it through your 100% reviews two weeks ago. I love to complete games 100% as well. Then I find out you are the loremaster of the game series that involves the first good game I ever played (Divine Divinity when I was 7).
Keep it up! Your dedication and love for these games is exciting!
I hope Alexander becomes the Undead origin character for the next game or at least that he makes an appearance in the hall of echoes.
Fat chance if you ask me since Dallis purged this fool with the Aeteran.
UPD: I just recalled that Alex might as well avoid such fate if we'll take measures and murder him ourselves. However, we're still yet to see which way for him to die is more canonical.
@@johnnybeck4549 would be nice to have a third member to this family we can have heavenly dad, demonic fav child and outcast undead with a grudge.
@@johnnybeck4549 i mean you can turn him to charcoal and pull his face off and he will be fine so it wouldnt be too wild
alexander has the best arc in the game if you get him to help you later.
Seriously these make my day 💖
Lowkey I feel like we don't hear much about Alexander because Lucian probably just threw him to his advisors instead of raising him cos Damian was more important
I was a hater of Alexander before this video. And i have some sympathy for him now, thanks to you.
But still, killing him once for all in the Nameless Isle was better imo. After all i tried to kill him not once but twice and he always revived 'somehow' as you said. Thats just annoying.
@@soydansogukcesme470 eninde sonunda ölüyor bari sağ kolu Dallis'tense rakibi olan godwokenlar gelip öldürsün dedim ben en son :)
These are awesome! Thank you for the lore!

Are you... the man with many cheeses?
Thanks for video :)
I have literally turned Alexander into a bloated corps and blown him up. Guy won't die
What's up Mortism
I really dont understand why the game gives you a mission to kill Alexander (if you have Ifan in the party) but simply bring him back to life off camera making killing him do nothing. Why? If you want a character to come in to a later part of the story why tell the player to kill them early? And why does he need to appear on the island any way?
because of the plot.......ifans mission as a lone wolf was to kill alexander..... he also never liked Alexander.......he's godwoken, so he got resurrected same as the origin characters. He's on Fort Joy because him Dallas and braccus are purging ppl/studying source. He's on nameless isle trying to claim divinity. It's all pretty self explanatory.
i supported this channel before bg3
Lucian sucks and by the way, it would seem the Eternal Civilization predates Astarte
well it wasn't dalis who killed him :D
