I came here to say this. It was one of my best (yet most stressful) Clamblitz games. Me and my bf's team lost in the end because we created the least superclams. It was 3min of the overtime horn going off, making it more stressful 🤣🤣
You could get an extra 15 seconds or so in rainmaker by having the winning team holding the rainmaker, but dying right before the game timer reaches 0, which adds 15s of overtime for the losing team to pick up the rainmaker
I was once in a Clam Blitz game that I swear went over ten minutes. I can't remember every detail, but I think the deal was we were tied for clams in the basket. And everyone was putting up a great fight on both sides, so it went that way for what felt like longer than the actual time.
@@nanoneko4511 I had a similar experience on mincemeat clams. Neither team could get in to score and both sides were playing good defense, so it resulted in a stalemate that went to overtime and then eventually the end of overtime. Nobody scored, and as a result, my team won? For some reason? I’m assuming it’s bc the game randomly picks the winner at that point, and we got lucky. But the game def felt like it went to 10 mins, absolutely insane experience for me
I actually got a 10 minute Clam Blitz game a while ago when no one scored the entire game and i think the winner of the match was decided by which team had the most clams by the end of the overtime
I believe it’s decided by whichever team created the most power clams, at least that’s what’s on the wiki. It’s only ever happened to me once on hammerhead clams 😭😭
I remember it being that Team Alpha always wins if the score doesn't go up at all. Can't easily tell which one it is in a public battle, but you can set Team Alpha and Bravo in a private battle.
This was a really cool video!! Whilst I think you could technically get ever single ranked mode to cap out at 10 minutes long by simply not scoring any points, the way you guys did it was a lot more fun!!! Can’t wait to play infinite table turf!
@@MrIlovecornbread I swear I saw a video before of a 10 minute clam blitz match where nobody scored! I could have remembered incorrectly though! But still it was a great video!!
@@MrIlovecornbread I've definitely seen actual solo queue Clam Blitz games go into overtime when nobody scores. I could've swore I remember it capping at 3 minutes overtime, 8 minutes total but it may be 5 overtime 10 total
i’ve had a genuine 8 minute clam blitz before. no one scored even when the overtime timer was about to go off so they game just decided a one point victor 😭 it was the craziest game of my life
You can get 10min in all 4 modes Just don’t score Don’t throw a power clam Don’t ride tower Don’t carry the rain maker Don't paint zone And turf war/tricolor is always 3min
turf war can be "extended" by throwing certain subs or specials right before the timer hits 0, but it doesn't extend game time, only delays the results screen. there's also a glitch where splat bombs can get stuck unable to explode which could do something, though that might've been patched.
One time in Splatoon 2 I played rainmaker on new albacore hotel and both teams struggled to pop until eventually we gave up and had a squid party for the rest of the game 😅. I forgot what happened at the end but I think someone picked it up eventually.
A while ago I myself experienced the longest game ever. It was Mincemeat Clams (before the rework), and neither team had scored. I swear this match lasted 10 minutes, and was one of the worst matches of my life. It was actuallly insane Nobody ended up scoring by the time overtime ended, but my team ended up winning anyway so we take those. That game was miserable, never again 😭
had a game go for 7 minutes because neither of us could get a ball into the clamblitz basket, ended up putting my controller down because it was going too long LOL
By my best math, Clam Blitz can run for up to 9 minutes if no one scores. This is based on the time stamp for the replay I checked the second time it happened, and it was a long wait for it to happen that second time. Would have checked the first time, but forgot about the replays. I'd double check the third time it happens, if it ever happens again. As hard as it is to score in clam blitz sometimes, it's even harder to get a perfect no score game, apparently. Edit: Seeing how you put it in the video, I'm getting that 9 minutes because I could "fast forward" to what I remember being a +4:00 (i.e. +4 minutes) on the time bar. Also, part of the edit, wouldn't have mattered for turf zones since you were efficient enough to wait out the full timer, but you could have certainly added more time to clam blitz by getting one player to 5 points, then getting the penalty, then getting the other player to 2 points, then it would have taken longer to get the lead/KO.
I saw a video of someone who tested, where they didn't lay a single p of ink on either side, and the match still ended at 3 minutes. What they found was, the game doesn't allow for a tie, so despite laying 0p of ink between the two of them, there match ended as "0.1% vs 0.0%" I call this "the coin flip." If a team wins by exactly 0.1% you can never know if they truly won, or if they just won the coin flip. That said, if you're looking for requests for your next challenge, see if it's possible to actually paint 100% of the map in turf war. I think the highest I've ever seen was in the 98% region. I'd love to see a combined total of 100%. Even better, I'd love to see each team get exactly 50% resulting in the coin flip, and a grand total of 100.1% combined total.
There is a way to extend it, Turf War can be by either having 50% covered by each or same number, or by basically having each player paint nothing for 5 minutes, even so the time amount wouldn't have been increased by much but it would be interesting to see.
The only one possible in a real match is clam blitz, I myself had 3 matches in which no one managed to score in 5 minutes and 3min overtime, surprisingly the team i was on won all three
13:48 while tableturf is (technically) infinite. The timer is an optional addition that you can choose how long it is, for a true measure of which mode is the longest I think it should be calculated for how long tableturf can get when it IS on a time limit
I feel like (other than turf) doing absolutely nothing but walking around will allow all modes to reach 10 minutes. Usually the tiebreak is whoever has scored the most, but if both teams are on 0 it extends.
Isnt longest Eggstra work all 5 rounds egg movement glitch where it stalls the end of the round for a bit so thats like max 550 seconds i think (wait thats only like 9 and a half minutes?)
Couldn't you extend turf war by using one of the roller to a wall glitches? Though that was in older versions and im not sure if thats still in the game... Assuming it was though you could probably also extend tower and zones past ten minutes. Though you would need an actual stopwatch and not the in game clock bc it doesnt account for the lag that glitch causes
@@supremekirb The extra point is always assigned to "team alpha" which is random in regular games but is set by the host in private battles. (The same also applies for the ranked modes if no one scores, except clam blitz which has more complicated rules in this case)
