I'm Working professional from Goa. I have 4 months left. I will be working hard so that I can get into GIM
I have 10 years of experience in IT industry and I want pursue masters which prepares me for techno-managerial roles. But lot of them have criterias that filters me out. For eg. age criteria of IDA you talked about. Also the family income criteria filters me out from any scholarship / funding bcoz I of my salary. And if I leave my job for higher education, my family income will come down to zero. This makes me feel stuck and disappointed. I am the only breadwinner in my family and cannot quit my job for any reason.

VALID REASON FOR GAP : My father's business collapesed and we were in huge debt that time . Also i took educational loan of 3 Lakh due to which i had EMI of nearly 7k thousand.. real problem was that my father never had savings or investment as he had a small business setup since my childhood.... when his business collapsed we had no money for survival .. i was getting job of 5k in hand and My EMI was 7k also i was not getting job in my Educational line..i then started tuitions for the survival and managed to earn around 10k in hand ... my father join as security guard and office boy type roles .... thats why i started UPSC preparation but cannot become successful ... My father passed away due to lack of treatment in 2022 . i am living with my mother in kolkata ... i joined BPO in 2021 and have 2 years of work experience .. can I do mba now or 1 year or 2 year later ?? please reply

I request you to make a video on CAT exam attempting strategy. I am not talking about how many questions to attempt. Let me explain my point through an example. Suppose if a student planned to attempt 2 RC passages(2*4=8 questions) and 4 Verbal questions. i.e, Total Attempt rate =12 questions with good accuracy. As per my knowledge. Every passage will definitely contains 2 difficult or tricky questions. And also, Most probably Every passage contains 1 or 2 easy to moderate questions. But we cannot spend time on all the 4 passages to answer only those easy wala questions. right? So please guide us through a strategy to tackle this. Please include answers for the questions such as- "How to choose right passages among the given 4?", "How to identify whether a verbal question is easy or difficult?", "How to manage time in the best possible way?", "How to choose easy LRDI sets among the whole section?" etc.

@@sahithireddyaella2025 Overall it’s a good blend of diversity in crowd, events, clubs etc. Professors are good, exam criteria was also upto mark, mess food is okayish. It rains a lotttttttt though😂can’t leave the hostel without umbrella. Campus is really mesmerising. Sunrises and sunsets are divine at GIM.

Hey Varun! 👋 Try visualizing your attempt strategy before the mock - for every section (before it begins) imagine how you are going to attempt the section - will you attempt RCs first or VA, DI first or LR, imagine the rounds technique for QA if you're going to use that one. This will ensure consistent attempt strategy thereby stabilizing your scores.
I'd suggest not to take a mock on the last day before CAT. You can take them till 24th though. Best wishes 😊

Wanted to ask you that I want to do multiple courses related financial analysis from coursera but most of them are paid certificate courses... I was wondering that if I go audit of that course how would I be able to show the courses I have done in my resume? Kindly help!
You can show a course in your resume even if you don't have its certification. The certificate is only required when someone asks for it, e.g. an MBA placement committee or a recruiter. Otherwise it's not required.

I am a mechanical engg. graduated in 2023. I am trying to get into IIM. I am now preparing for cat 2024. I am not working now and I was told that not doing any job now will be a problem in interviews as they will surely ask what you have done after graduation. So I got a job as client executive in a company near my place, but it doesn't have a relation with my engg. degree right? Will that be considered negative in the interview process?

Consulting prefers candidates with good academic marks throughout. So, I'll recommend you to get some work-ex first in research or analyst roles as that will help.
Same goes for product management - it also prefers people with tech work-ex. So, try getting that before MBA.

In simple terms this college is not on the league which should ideally be your Target before attempting entrance exams. Believe me when I say this, because I study in a similar college, glim Chennai, and there is immense difference b/w tier 1 and tier 2, in terms of student quality. And that is what makes all the difference
