- I would like to thank motorcycle house and viking bags for sending this over to me for a review.. Overall I give it a 8 out of 10.. Like I said in the video the only thing i disliked about it was how hard and not very convenient to get the battery out of it.. Other then that great product if you are looking for a alarm that is super loud and had a level of protection of 18 out of 20. This thing is heavy duty.

Thank you for the comprehensive review including battery replacement - got me through several hurdles.
Thanks! FIFTH video watched and yours was the first to show me how to change the damn' batteries! 😁👌
Common sense if the battery was easy to get to or take out then the lock would be useless against theft.
I realize I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch new movies online ?

Great review Cruzin :) I've looking at getting the non alarmed version of this for some time now, seems like a very good lock.
Bex88 just don’t use bateries 🤪
Replaced my batteries just now - appreciate your attention to detail!
was debating if i should buy this or not when i saw it. But after this review it's alredy in my shopping cart
Great review!! Thanks
RIP headphone users.
Looks great for a quad aswell there's a lot of thief's around here
Hello. Thanks for the very good video explaining the details of this product. But I have a question. Why would it not fit on the back disc? TIA
tcpiptv its,made for the front..
Yes but it was too small for my Sportster from -91.
I love it man and it's loud af 😵 😄 mostdef worth it except the battery but who cares its loud 😊👍
Can you clip the lock on the chassi somewhere on the motorcycle when your not using it?
I have a regular one but I like the alarm option
ehhhh you dont want people to know there is an alarm on it? Seems stupid... So if the mess with your bike then they run but your bike is damaged in the lock? hmmm ofc they shall know its protected.
Good piece of security. Got the same one without the alarm because I have bad luck with that shit.
Vegas Gurl I love this thing other then the way you change the battery
Is it possible for the battery container to get wet in big rain stoms. Presumably, it has a drain, but is it sufficient for big tropical rain storms
I'll buy it!
for how long does the alarm ring ?
Thx a lot for the Video. How sensitive is that device? Does it triggers false alarms for example if a Truck drives by and the vibrations are shaking the bike?
There is always the ABUS 77 non alarm disk lock , basically same lock
ua-cam.com/video/imiZwF_zJPI/v-deo.html ABUS 77 add 38 sec
Yes a heavy truck could do that. Also Wind when covered by a tarp. However the alarm helped me last night when two hoodlums tried cutting it with a angle grinder.
Does it switch off automatically after a certain time
Hi !
I’ve a question on the Abus and i don’t find on Google ! How many decibels is it get out or it’s vert loud or no ? Answer my question please !!! I need it for know if i buy this block disq !!
Sorry if wrong’s words but my english is’nt perfect... I from France !! :)
munkada47 100 decibel
i need one of those
Oh yeah be safe homie
Nice video.
No remote control to switch it on&off ??what's up with that!
We are in 20'th sentury, damn it
You can do it now with the Smart x version.
Price is also double.
Thanks for the review, does it stop beeping after or beeps all the time?
Serkan Çapkan it keeps beeping until you unlock it
Thanks for reply. To get your opinion, don't you think that it's annoying that if someone only touched your bike when you're away and it bothers everybody all the day?
It doesn't. I have the exact same lock, it beeps for about 10-15 seconds and shuts up. It does keep going off it someone's messing with your bike though.
I really couldn't get whether it beeps all the time after movement or stops after 15 seconds. I really need to understand as my bike stays in front of my house and when I go to work for example during the day, I don't want it to beep all the day if someone only touches my bike, that's something can happen.
@ come on mate common sense. No it wouldn't beep all day that would kill the battery
How good is this? Does it give a lot of false alarm like lets say can wind set it off?
ReyD yes it can when you have a tarp over it.
Great Video! I have only two questions:
I have the Detecto 8077/12 KS120, and when I arm it it will always go off and I don't know how to do it properly.
1) Why does it go off if you don't move away quick enough?
2) Why can't it be mounted on the rear disc?
I also have that kit, it's great but not easy to lock it with the chain, it's heavy and only allow to lock in the correct position. It needs practice, the chain only let's lock the lock in one position. Once it beep the alarm is on, because it detects the disk triggering the half ball spring loaded, even with the lock not locked, so sometimes the disc already triggered the alarm but as it's more tricky to lock it with the chain in place you took more time and the alarm go off. Like I said with practice you get there. In the beginning only after 20 attempts and 2 or 3 alarm go off in between i locked successfully, now after 3 attempts it's locked :)
Does the alarm reset itself after it’s been triggered?? That would be the most obvious thing I would like to know. If somebody set’s it off and you are not close by does it’s just scream for hours or stop after a minor sound re arm itself
All you have to do is search for information related to this particular lock model 🙂
Yes, it switches off after 15 or 20 seconds, and returns to its normal state.
how many hours will it run without charging
If the alarm starts does it stop on its own or do you have to go and stop it with the key?
It will stop on its own after a while
4 years later…still satisfied?
Is it rainproof?
for wat is that blue light on the key i have one but idon't understand it what is do ? pls help me
It's for seeing at night
thank you man :D
Does it ever stop beeping or do you have to have the key to make it quiet
it beeps 15 seconds if movement stops.
but how much space does it take up? will it fit in a sport bike trunk?
if you got nothing in the back seat of a sportbike it will fit
well shit... lol I can't even fit a gopro in my trunk... kind of disappointing... this looks like a pretty cool Anti-theft device... now im gonna have to buy a whole new bike just to carry this thing around lol
Look At Me Luis lol
I thought about getting one like that but with the wind we get out here i'd probably never sleep with it on it bike
wind wont set it off
thanks for that note. reviews on some other brands mention wind setting it off .
Most fun is when it goes off
Will this fit the front disc brake to my Piaggio MP3 LT?
Maybe but the best security you got was the piaggio
@@vector198 sad not enough people will see this burn
I'm thinking you should always pick a contrast color so potential thieves WOULD actually see it and be deterred from even trying in the first place.
Because I don't want some asshole messing with my bike, tripping the alarm and then dropping it and running away. He'll mess up my bike and he'll make a ruckus.
I'd much rather have him see it from afar and stay away from my bike, and not cause any damage to it which I'd have to pay money to repair later.
funny you mention that i just got the yellow one to get notice then remembered my new bike is yelllow. damn
@@luc1ferblack
Heh, I'm getting the yellow one as well except my Versys 650 is black. 😄
Im getting the yellow one in a couple days, i have a orange and black bike
@@baconbaconbobacon
Good choice. Yellow is the way to go.
Guess it wouldn't hurt to have something that draws attention like that but the only problem that I'd have is someone bumping my bike and the alarm goes off and goes off tell u come unlock it or does it after a while go off on its on
William Underwood I have not tested that out yet to see if it turns off on its own
the ABUS website says the alarm will go off for 15s and arm itself again.
It turns off in 15 s. I have ran to the window many times when bicyclist bump into my ride parking
You didn't say if its waterproof or ice resistant. ;;
I bought a new bike in 2017 and bought one of these to protect the bike, after four years of light use ( the bike has done 4000 miles the lock broke, not very good for a £130.00
How can the lock break when it just sits there lol
Will wind activate this thing?
Yes, but only in extreme cases. I always lock mine with this, and one very windy day it went off. Strong wind will not set it off unless it's able to move the bike or the lock itself - and this lock is really heavy.
For the life of me I can't get it on without the alarm going off - super annoying because im living in a quiet neighbourhood
I'm more interested in the 4 weights on your rim.
FrankASTank the dealership did that when I bought the bike
Ive got one of these on my bike and a scorpio 2 way with a pager. so it goes off at the bike and on my key chain.
Could a shock from a taser disable it?
Danny McCune probably not if it does disable anything its would be just the noise but that is highly unlikely. Plus the lock will still work it won't make it unlock if you tazer it.
CruzinMoto ... Yeah, it's the alarm/electronics I am wondering about. I'm using a large Medeco, positioned so that bolt cutters can't get to it. But if a very skilled lock picker had the time, or a hack with a portable grinder... I'd like an alarm that has "hardened" circuitry. My brother used to design hardened circuits for the military, so I know it's possible, I just don't know if they would be affordable for mass production. Regardless, I think a high security lock WITH an alarm is the way to go. I bought the Medeco just over 20 years ago for $90, so $150-$200 with an alarm in today's money is very reasonable -- *if* a taser or other electric shock won't disable the electronics.
No how could it?
It would be more effective if it was quit and if it could send a messege to the phone.
As of version II there is no more LED in the key, too bad.
I got one it didnt stop the thieves from getting my S1000RR tho
Rubbergently then your batteries were probably low on it.
no they put an angle grinder to it and it snapped in a couple seconds, they cut the 22mm chain aswell....
WTF, I assume this is UK?
But the alarm noise... ?
Martinmqrck Netherlands, angle grinders were supposed to be hard to buy here guess not...
Should have gotten a different colour. If thieves see an alarmed beefy lock on your bike they won’t even touch it, they’ll just move on to an easier target.
And a hard to charge battery is a hard to bypass battery for thieves.
This is the only color the company makes
CruzinMoto I’m looking at it on Amazon right now and they have it in blue, red, yellow and orange.
@@SirSpinalColumn I got mine from the company it's what they sent me fir review
There is a reaaon u cant change battery easy..
Lock U alarm
First
Costly little gadget .. Will have to do a longer term review on it down the road before peeps will drop $200 bucks.
I P Freely any bike alarm with a loud noise and this good quality will always cost a good bit but when your bike is $8000+ spending $179 to make sure nobody steals it is worth the money invested
Till 5-10% off bike value is a good investment in security
For that kind of money they could give you 3 keys instead of 2.
chesshooligan 1 - Lol, I cut those keys for ABUS. We charge like $12.99 for one before shipping. They're hand machined.
chesshooligan 1 why do you need 3 keys? 2 is enough
If they provided 3 keys you would complain it's not 4.
@chesshooligan 1
2 is quite enough. 1 for you and 1 for someone you trust so they can collect the bike if you need them to.
They're not really made as replacement for lost keys, you should replace the entire lock if that happens (unless you want to risk it).
179?
Dominick Howe yup $179
Cheaper than replacing a stolen bike
Not very loud
The lock picking lawyer picks one
Took him some time though and he said he wouldn't hesitate buying one. That's probably as close to as a recommendation you'll get from the LPL.
@@PCDoctorUSA I bought one with the alarm on it
Are those AAA or AA batteries? AAA is a very poor choice, as they will go flat faster and the price per unit of energy is much higher than that of AA. There is a reason to use AAA in some very small electronic devices, but definitely not in an alarm lock.
Edit: yes, AAA according to Abus's own website. Very poor design, Abus.
Pretty dumb to show how you can disable the battery with an tutorial on UA-cam lol....
