Apelviken - Varberg, Sweden | Playground Customer Case by KOMPAN

At the popular beach in Apelviken, Varberg, there’s much more on offer than simply bathing and playing in the water. For instance, children can go for a spectacular climb in the climbing net, inspired by fishing tools typical to the Swedish west coast. The net is situated right by the beach promenade and was custom made by KOMPAN to blend in perfectly with the surroundings.
The municipality of Varberg wanted a solution that offered loads of play activities but also had the shape of the typical sand dunes of south Sweden. It had to be something spectacular that contributed to establishing Apelviken as a top travel destination and a favourite spot for locals.
KOMPAN listened and delivered a custom made Corocord™ net landscape with a tunnel that looks like a long lobster trap, buoys, fishing ropes, membrane slides and a viewing platform that might originate from an old pirate wreck. Watch the clip to see what the children think!
