Could have done “Tier Maker” and did an overlay on screen. Would have made it easier for you guys and the viewers to keep track.
Just a thought for next time. All and all though, love listening to you guys talk.

It would be most optimal for the Steelers to treat Russ as a sort of ‘sacrificial lamb’ for the team. He’s older but he’s still capable of good things. Let Fields sit a few weeks and learn what to do and what not do from Russ. If Russ balls out, he’ll set a good example. If he sucks, Fields will be learning how to NOT play QB. Throwing Fields in as the starter week 1 does nothing in terms of letting him grow from who he was in Chicago. He has a far higher ceiling than Russ, so give him the most optimal situation for a young guy with room to grow.

Kurt, a question: do Andy Reid & Kyle Shanahan affect games? Or can they be replaced by Adam Gase? Because everything you're saying about QBs is in utter disregard of their play-callers. Geno Smith is on the hot seat? Baker's improved? You didn't notice that the improved QB play followed Dave Canales out of Seattle & into Tampa Bay? Same thing as how handing off the play-calling to Press Taylor sank the Jags last season.
This isn't to diminish QBs in any way. I'm saying that if the HC tells the receivers to go to the wrong place, turn the wrong way or run the wrong route, wtf can any QB do? Some play-callers make you wonder if they even allow QBs to take practice _with_ their receivers.
People with NFL All Access make videos proving this. Fields "holds onto the ball too long." Until one sees the camera angle that shows Mooney running in between the QB & another receiver & stopping there, making sure both receivers are covered, leaving Fields to scramble, wait forever or throw an INT. Greg Roman managed to send 4 receivers on the same plays into quadruple coverage for 3 years of Lamar's career.
Play-calling can elevate to a certain extent but there is _NO limit_ to how much it can tear a QB down. Geno was undermined by play-calling that told the receivers he connected with last season to zig instead of zag. His throws were on the money but his receivers were following orders.

I was gonna say it was passable until you put Joe at 5, I'm sorry but he's just a more experienced CJ Stroud if you want to roll with that

Saying Russ hasn't shown the ability to carry for the past 5 years is insane as if he didn't put his body on the line and carry us in 19, 20 and 21 before injury. He was also solid last year for a Denver team that had gaping holes all over the place. If you asked me if I would rather pay Geno or give Russ Genos contract and bring him back I'd pick the latter.

Why do you think that the Seahawks traded him their were many bad things for him in Denver but he was a great qb that drop a bit

@@trigger8040 1) Russ led the NFL in passes Behind the Line Of Scrimmage for the past five years straight. This is not why the Seahawks traded him.
It's why they refused to _extend_ his contract.
That's a huge difference. Falling off a little bit is being able to throw the ball 40 instead of 50 yards. No big deal since even the best WRs only get open that deep 1, 2 times a season. The reason *why* Russ led in passes BtLOS was he could no longer scramble around in & out of the pocket to where he could see the field.
_That_ was a *HUGE* drop-off from being able to see the field to _not_ being able to do that. I think he threw this at 23.7% in '23, nearly 1 in 4 passes. Since most rushers in the NFL average 4+ YPA, the passes BtLOS have to be less effective than that to be a problem. They are because they do, barely over 2 yards per completion.
So he was padding his stats with these check-downs that his play-callers *had to provide for him **_because_** he can no longer see the field.* I will honestly be _stunned_ if he ends up starting for the Steelers. Either their coaches don't see the problem, fail to see it _as_ a problem, or Fields will be their starter.
I'd argue that Fields is way better & has been _sabotaged_ by his play-callers up 'til now, but that's a longer discussion.
