Good afternoon, bon après-midi. I hope you enjoy this impromptu upload today. Once I saw the new photos and swatches I knew that I had to share it with you. In fact, I was so excited this morning that I forgot to put on earrings 😂 My thoughts on the fall collection are as follows: 1) deep purples are gorgeous for fall, but I think they missed the mark with the pastels 2) a matte quad is a good choice as long as the formula is exquisite 3) I may create my own take on a fall Chanel collection because I am still unconvinced on this one. Agree ! When I look at this collection, all I could think of was that they were held up in a room together, each trying to get their own way- the collective couldn’t agree on anything so in order to get out of the room, they were in each given one of their favorite choice and here we are all being held captive now.💙xx

I'm actually excited for this release. I like both eyeshadows, they are different and new to me. I haven't bought any singles, nor am I into eyeshadow sticks. I think I'll go for it :)

I think the lipsticks look the most promising with so many shades. The eyeshadows are a no go.

I am actually excited about the fall collection. I like the swampy yellow and eyeshadow. The light lilac blush is probably only going to look good on the palest skin. It looks like K beauty.

I wish Chanel would do automatic lip pencils as they used to. I hate using a sharpener and it's so much more convenient to carry an automatic one in a purse.

I am excited about the Amethyst mascara and the green nail polish. It looks like the DIOR Bird of Paradise green nail polish from a few seasons back, but it looks like the shift is different on this one. I will have to see the purple quad in person to decide. I’m disappointed that it is all matte, but I have enough sheer highlighter shadows in my stash to perk it up.

Exciting update! Initially I was very excited about the purple shadow quad, until I looked at the three other colors. I like the green nail polish best 💚

Soooo...I am new to Chanel makeup and I must admit that I haven't followed the line closely. I turned 67 a few months ago and felt like I needed to treat myself...so what better than Chanel makeup and fragrance?
I have to say...the red eyeshadows kind of bugged me, so I'm glad they are being replaced with the purples. I have a decided yellow undertone to my skin, so for me, the purples are a complementary color...and then greens and oranges are tertiary from there...and I'm okay with that. For me, it works.
I absolutely fell in love with the Lilas Poudre eyeshadow--and managed to get one--so I'm able to incorporate that with these newer shades.
Oh same! That Lila’s Poudré single is stunning 🤩 Let’s see if this quad lives up to that single or is a dupe for it.

Thanks for the video. It’s like breaking news! But, *sighs wearily*, I’m disappointed. Neither blush appeals, esp as the lilac one is invisible. And the eyeshadows just make me sad. Chanel can do so much better. The peachy one is a non-merci. I don’t even know where to start with “Division” other than it’s definitely dividing opinion. That yellow looks like baby 💩. The paler lilac shade looks like a mini version of the recent single version. I can’t see any clear vision of how to wear this quad. Sadly it’s going to be a non-merci too. Nail polishes are nice, but Chanel’s formula is not up to scratch, chipping and peeling within a day. And not worthy of the £29 price tag. Maybe the amethyst mascara, that’s the nicest “sides” of the collection. I’m unlikely to buy liquid lipsticks - not very flattering on us 50-something gals.
I’m pinning my autumn makeup hopes on Hermes. That collection looks beautiful.

I too love a good purple eyeshadow. Matte and/or satin. Wish it weren’t mixed with green and yellow. I agree with you 100%. I have to say that this new duo running the Chanel show is missing the mark for me. We finally got rid of red, but now we have odd couplings. Ugh.
It's even worse Maureen, it's a trio nota duo. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

Good morning Allison! The only item that I am midly interested in is the holo/green/purple based nail polish...😂 the rest of it looks like a pass for me. The lilac "blush" reminds me of the lilac setting powder from Dior which was lovely. As a "blush" though, nope 🙃😉🤔

I just bought the new Suqqu collection for Fall. They’re also doing orange & purple, but I think Suqqu looks more elegant, esp the blushes.

I was excited for this since I first saw it, because I love purple and green. And even I’m very happy with my jade facete and lilas poudre eyeshadows, I want this quad in my collection. The shadow sticks look nice, but I don’t think I’ll be using them very often, so I’m looking for a cheaper dupe for that green pencil which would look good with those eyeshadows 🤩
I really hope that the quality is nice because that would be the only redeeming factor for that quad for me 😂

Hey Alli! You made me laugh with the series of pictures of red eyeshadows with the creepy soundtrack 😂 and you are absolutely correct, I think they came out with red eyeshadows for at least six years. I think now they’re doing the same thing as you said, I don’t think it’s funny nor appealing. The eyeshadow palettes do not look interesting to me, as I already purchased the jade eyeshadow with the Spring release. I have a couple of matte quads from years ago and they are actually beautiful. What I am interested in are the nail polishes, I am always up for new interesting nail polishes from Chanel or Dior 💜 since I bought the Blue Star nail polish a couple of weeks ago that’s all I’ve been using because it’s so unique and very flattering, on the hands and on the feet 🩵 thank you for this video as always, you are the best 💝

Hi, I think some of those liquid lipstick have been available at least in UK and France for a while. I got 222 signature rouge allure ink in Paris as it was sold out in London. Other numbers available in UK this winter were 224 (but is more of a brown pink rather than a brilliant ted) 140,152 (I clearly love the formula 😅)

That being said, i had lilas poudre and bought the jardin imaginaire crayon in neon dahlia and they work wonderfully toghether. Also on the eyes I tightline that look with cassis. I think the variations from light to dark and added sparkle works great, especially with a pop of gold in the inner corner

Hi Allison as you I’m really undecided with these Chanel new releases because even if you have made a wonderful presentation I still think that those eye quads colors mmmm aren’t what I expected for autumn fall! The only products I find interesting could be the lip ones and the nails one.

Thank you for this very detailed breakdown of Chanel Fall 202 Alli. You always do a great job with these. Okay, I have never felt Chanel give more Colourpop vibes than this drop right here. I have really loved everything this year up until now. I'm only inspired by the brown lip colors..MAYBE. I am interested in the new Chanel creme blushes that are hopefully permanent additions to the line.
I'm also a MAYBE on the lipsticks mostly because one of them has to work...right?! haha I just hope that I like this new formula ❤

Chanel is not very particular about letting us know if a product is LE or exclusive. They sometimes mention it, sometimes don’t.
So I wouldn’t count too much, if they didn’t mention the eye palettes are not listed as LE.

Hi ! I love that orange nail polish and the 392 seems ok but I’m mostly looking forward to there new blushes I think 5 or 6 shades not sure if they will be permanent or limited edition 🤔

The mascara, orange nail colour and maybe the orange blush are ok. You’re right about the lip products, it will depend on the formula and if they change colour upon application and are comfortable. Matte shadows are tricky in those brights…
They certainly are tricky. I think that a few items here and there are ok, but overall the collection is a bit meh.

I wanted to mention about the Chanel fall color makeup selections. This is my thought: A few makeup companies are kind of lining up their color schemes, perhaps, with the very popular New York Broadway musical “Wicked” that comes out as a movie in the United States in November. I think “Wicked” is a twist on the “Wizard of Oz” I have not seen the musical. I know One Size, which is Patrick Starr’s company, did a similar color scheme and even designed a brush like the wicked witch’s broom. I feel makeup some companies are kind of going with that theme. A lot of people in the US are excited about the movie. That may explain Chanel’s fall colors. Don’t know. 🧙♀️ 😊

I think they are appealing to a young Asian market. The lavender / pistachio will go well with porcelain skin tones. For darker skin tones, the rest of the palette may be too orange. Let’s see what they look like in person.

Certainly an interesting collection, some very beautiful pieces but most I can live without.
You’ll never keep everyone happy with a collection, I hear people complain it’s not exciting or different enough all the time and then when something is actually different they complain that it’s unwearable 🤷🏼♀️
I have an “archive” drawer with all of my older CC and Dior makeup and I swear that most of my older CC palettes are pretty much matte.

Agreed with the purple palette, i want to like it so bad bur the bottom two just wouldnt be useful. Makes me want to buy dupes of the top two from somewhere like MAC and then complete it with my own color story that would be pretty together!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and expertise on the fall offerings from Chanel. So interesting choices of color palettes. Would you please consider doing a tutorial on brushes. So many choices it's overwhelming. Would like a guide for essentials and "nice to haves". Also, who makes the best of each brush as they can be quite an investment. If the green purple palette was a bit deeper and that shimmer formula from the empreinte du desert days I would be lining up for it. This, not so much. You can get this from Maybelline. Even the nail polish seemed a bit disappointing in the IRL photos

That eyeshadow palette with the green and purple is calling to me. Definite "oui." As for the other, warmer palette, I recently got a Byredo palette with similar colors (Desert Rose) and so that one is a "non, merci" for me. Likewise for the orange blush. I have been using my NARS Obsession blush and that's all I need for now. That lavender cheek product looks too light for me as a blush. I have a lavender MakeUp4Ever highlighter and this reminds me a bit of that one.

That's so fair! I don't know why they added that terrible mustard yellow and green with that quad. They had the perfect setup for a purple palette.

The late 60s were actually a very witchy time, and early 1970s. These shades are probably sheer like a watercolor. Cosmetics seem to be moving in that direction. All in all it's very pretty and unique. I'm over 50 i use all the le Beiges products , and love them.

The thumbnail picture looked intriguing to me especially the eyeshadows. But the actual swatch pictures do not look great. The peachy brown quad looks like other quads we have seen before. The purple one is a bit weird. I like the inspiration but the execution is not what I expected. I like the nail polishes for this collection. I will get both of those. The lip colors are a pass for me. Thank you for sharing the pictures.
I feel the exact same way. The new promo photos look so promising but in actuality I think it will be rather disappointing.

Well I too need to see these in person. The last pictures made the quad look worse. I do want to see the lilac blush but if it is a highlighter I saw no. I really like the green polish too. The warm brown as well. Lipsticks hopefully will be nice too. Ugh now I am terrified what they , C will butcher for holiday collection.

Everything is a no merci for me. I don’t like palettes with all matte eyeshadows and the colours from these ones are very ugly. The blushes are ugly as well (I mean one is ugly because the other one is invisible 😂 ) and I am not a fan of liquid lipsticks. The nail polishes are ok for people who like colourful nails. I don’t. The purple mascara is not for me. I just like black and dark brown mascaras.
I will never understand the thing with “I buy them because they are different” or “because I don’t have these colours in my collection”. If I don’t have a purple/yellow/red etc blouse in my wardrobe is because I don’t like the colours and I will never buy something like that because they are different. 😳 I already know what colours suits my skin tone/style and which ones make me look strange, sick, vulgar or like a clown. I experimented when I was a teenager and maybe a little bit in my 20’s but not anymore. Maybe some people like to experiment all life but I think that many of them buy things that never wear/use just because they like how other people look with an outfit/makeup or because of a false projection: “me wannabe”.
In conclusion is not as bad because I can save money for Hermes and Tom Ford collections because I have a feeling that nothing will be a bargain. 😁

My pleasure! I understand that sentiment. I know which colours work for me but I rotate with different hues depending on my mood and season. I wouldn’t buy something if I knew that I would hate it 😂 For Example: the new Dior foundation sticks. Foundation sticks are just not for me, so why bother reviewing it?

While I like Halloween and fall I don't find the collection fully thought out. Probably cause Chanel isn't really screaming witchy vibes 😅😅 I don't think they can go all the way to really make it work as that's not gonna fly w their customers especially in Asia. And honestly I'm not sure I wanna see that either 😅😅I think your idea of 70s glam, Stevie Nicks would have gone much better as that works wo spooky vibes, just focus on the glam and art deco revival of the time. Someone found a Japanese post which described the matte eyeshadows as the blurry formula. So maybe it's the reformulated blurry eyeshadows. It's a no... I actually like the shades in both quads BUT I won't get a look out of them. I will have to add in other colours and shimmers to give me a pretty look. And I simply don't want to buy a quad that won't ever work on its own

The norm in colors for seasons shouldn't apply anymore. Their formulas are sheerer now, the trend for heavy make is over. Chanel creates formulas that look as though they are part of the skin. I think that's beautiful.🥂❤️

Eh bien j’ai passé sur la collection d’été et j’ai bien peur de passer sur celle-ci aussi…je ne suis plus la cliente cible de Chanel on dirait bien …je vais utiliser ce que j’ai ce qui n’est pas une mauvaise chose mais honnêtement je ne m’y reconnais plus mais bon je suppose que ça se vend bien quand même. La seule chose que j’ai hâte de voir que j’ai vu passer sur Instagram ce sont des nouveaux blush, format original mais texture poudre crème si j’ai bien compris …à suivre 😉
Oui c’est vraiment à suivre 😂 j’ai hâte de voir les nouveaux blush aussi. Surtout les anciens teint classique qui reviennent. Sûrement que au moins un des nouveaux rouge à lèvres liquide va être à mon goût mais il faut voir la formule. Un gros soupire 😂
