I think 95% of me not being super excited about the brushes at first stemmed from me finding out they were animal fur. I love animals and don't want them to be hurt for the sake of beauty. Sonja G brushes are hand crafted in Japan. The handles are hollowed out walnut. Watch a video on the process and you'll be amazed. The squirrel and goat hair come from animals that are treated exceptionally well, like family pets. They are gathered from naturally shedded hair.
Wow! That actually makes me feel a lot better, when I first learned that they were real animal hair I felt a little sick to my stomach which I think impacted my excitement to get them because I love animals and was concerned about them being killed for their fur, however if it is all naturally shed fur that makes a world of difference and I am actually thrilled to have them and I am excited to try them! The hollowed out part explains why they felt so lightweight for them being wood. Thank you for the information I feel SO MUCH better about owning these brushes now!
I bought this box and it’s my first time too. I hope I get the same palette I love greens. I actually hope I get the same exact items as you. I like what you got in the box. I’d be happy. I was afraid it would be tons of hair stuff, lashes, and sunscreen which I don’t want. I don’t use a lot on my hair and it’s very healthy. I can’t use lashes I’m allergic to glue. It’s why I stopped Ann my sub boxes years ago. I haven’t bought any makeup for years. I have none of these things. Have a great day!

When I saw the price I had to triple check it was the same set because I was like... AINT NO WAY! 😂 Lol
We often forget there's a difference between perceived value and intrinsic value. In the end it's all goo and powder. You just hope it's goo and powder you like to use.
To be fair, I'm not ~completely~ clueless, it just so happened that the things I got were things I wasn't familiar with. I own more makeup than any human should and know quite a bit about mid tier makeup like too faced, urban decay, Anastasia Beverly hills, etc, and drugstore brands like morphe, revolution, colour pop, etc. it's the high end stuff that I really don't know what im looking at 🥺 I've never been in a financial position to consider spending half a paycheck on a set of brushes so things like that go over my head until I do the research lol
You lucked out!!! The make up brushes holy hell!!!! Also the Natasha Denona palette is beautiful! They have a bigger Natasha palette for in the hundreds rage! Also the eye gel is really good! I love the gloss too
You hit the jackpot with those brushes! I am excited when I get one of those brushes getting the set would have made my year. They are Fabulous! I already own the ND pallet and have a few of her pallets because they are great! The Viseart pallet is another good one to receive. I am sorry you don’t like your box. Most of us would have LOVED it.
I actually love my box! I was very put off by the fact that the brushes were animal hair until I was told the hair is ethically sourced, that's where a lot of the lack of interest came from, I don't believe animals should be hurt for the sake of vanity but to know they're not, makes a huge difference in how I feel about my box now vs in the video 🥰

Same 🤣 I do know how to use the brushes but I'm the kind of person that uses like 3 brushes and that's it. I have one that I use to put the actual eyeshadow down, one for adding color to the outer corners, and a third for doing under my lashes, the inner corner of my eye, and my brow bone highlight. I know I will get use out of the blending brushes at least because I use that kind of brush to lay down eyeshadow. I'll probably use the small pencil brush for under my lash line and the one I called a flat shader for the outer corners but idk what to do with the rest of them. I guess that's part of the fun of it, figuring out new ways to apply makeup you maybe hadn't thought of before! 🥰
Hey! I just found your channel. You definitely got lucky. You got some of the top name brands so that’s awesome 🤩. The ND palette is cheaper because it’s a bit older now and I don’t think there is a huge high demand for that particular one anymore. I have it and it’s beautiful 😍. I have a lot of ND palettes. Her newer one are soooo expensive. Viseart is a good brand as well. I have a couple but only because they were on sale lol. CT I’m gonna be truthful here and say I have tried her eyeshadows and I’m not a fan. I got a couple different quad palettes and to me it’s not worth that price. I’m use to ND, Huda Beauty, PMG and Ofra! Those are my top ones and now I’m dabbling into some indie brands and I’m really loving them. The good molecules brand is a beauty list brand. There is always something from that brand in every mystery box lol. I really think you should practice with those beautiful green ND colours. I think by looking at your eyes the greens will make your eyes pop. Now when you said Sonya G I actually swore out loud lol. I would love to get that set. OMG 😱 everyone else is getting one random Sonya G brush in their boxes lol. I’m so happy for you 😊! Congratulations 🎉 you really did get a lucky box. I subscribed to your channel ♥️

There is a nice trio of pinks in it that I can use, and some brown shades that I can pair with the shimmers. The blues will get some use, I just have to figure out how to make it look best on me lol 😂 I don't want to walk around looking like a lady of the night 😂😂😂 I appreciate your comment 🥰

Because you got some of the very best brands, none of which you have tried before... and now, you might just fall in love with them, and start buying their products 😂😂 they ARE all pretty expensive and in my opinion, all WORTH IT!! 🥰
Honestly SAME I tend to have expensive taste and getting the good stuff will just exacerbate the need to buy quality stuff 😭 I have a feeling it's going to be one of those things where I didn't know what I was missing because I had nothing to compare what I DO have to, but now I do lol
I would suggest next year just opting for the regular bag if you're not really invested in "brand value," which having ordered both the regular and XL, I can say the XL relies on more than the smaller one. The smaller price tag can definitely limit disappointment if you don't find everything "amazing"
I am thrilled with my bag, as I said in a few other comments, I was taken aback that over half of the over all value was in one item, I had never heard of that brand before, AND the worst part was finding out it was real animal hair. I was very put off because I had worst case scenarios in my head about animals being hurt for our vanity, BUT someone in the comments informed me that the hair in collected when it is naturally shed, which made ALL the difference in how I feel about them. I am now thrilled to own such fancy brushes. Also, I ordered the big box because I was hoping for high end things like Natasha Denona and Viseart, both of which I got, I just had not heard of the brush brand before. If i get the opportunity to buy another box it will be the XL again.
I am very disappointed that I didn’t buy the $150 dll for the mystery box instead of the $75 next time I will not doubt it I will pay $180 dollars just to get the Sonia G brushes because I own all the ND eyeshadow palettes and I think 🤔 that I have the duo blush so I don’t know what to expect for my $75 mystery box because last year I bought the Wayne Goss mystery box and I got the same lip gloss that you got He has good eyeshadow palettes but hopefully I won’t get repetitive makeup on my mystery box 📦 fingers crossed 🤞🏻 you got a 5⭐️ mystery box!
Wow that box was a great box, I didn’t realise Sonia G brushes were made with animal hair, I just couldn’t use them knowing that . I’d probably sell them if I got this box and didn’t want those brushes .
I had the same thoughts but I have learned since posting this that all of the hair is collected when it is naturally shed. I would NOT be ok with them if animals were getting hurt just for us to put powder on our face. So if you do get some, from what I know now, they're ethical :)

There are Facebook groups where people buy and sell subscription box items, you should look into them :) you can post an ISO (in search of) to let everyone know what you're looking for and if anyone has it they will comment or message you with how much they want for it :)
😂😂 agreed but I think they threw a few low value items in just to bump the item count up since the other stuff in the box was very expensive, I'll find a use for them so it's fine!
If you see later on in the video, after I looked some things up I realized what I had 😅😅😅 they didn't FEEL like anything special and I didn't see the name at first, but even if I had seen the name I wouldn't have known they were that expensive until I looked at the prices 😂
$250 that’s just bullshit you know they’re not worth that you can get those brushes at half price at TJ Maxx or less as of most of the make up there it just makes me mad when the beauty boxes do these things!

There is no reason to be mean, I had never even heard of the brush brand before and that one item composed over half of the box value, I am very happy with the things I got, if you watched, I was thrilled to get all of the palettes, and will use everything I got, however it is not incorrect to say that I wouldn't have purchased the items I got for myself due to the cost. You purchase them Boxing day. They dont ship until mid-January. They have to put all of the boxes together
I am very disappointed that I didn’t buy the $150 dll for the mystery box instead of the $75 next time I will not doubt it I will pay $180 dollars just to get the Sonia G brushes because I own all the ND eyeshadow palettes and I think 🤔 that I have the duo blush so I don’t know what to expect for my $75 mystery box because last year I bought the Wayne Goss mystery box and I got the same lip gloss that you got He has good eyeshadow palettes but hopefully I won’t get repetitive makeup on my mystery box 📦 fingers crossed 🤞🏻 you got a 5⭐️ mystery box!

Wow that box was a great box, I didn’t realise Sonia G brushes were made with animal hair, I just couldn’t use them knowing that . I’d probably sell them if I got this box and didn’t want those brushes .
I had the same thoughts but I have learned since posting this that all of the hair is collected when it is naturally shed. I would NOT be ok with them if animals were getting hurt just for us to put powder on our face. So if you do get some, from what I know now, they're ethical :)

There are Facebook groups where people buy and sell subscription box items, you should look into them :) you can post an ISO (in search of) to let everyone know what you're looking for and if anyone has it they will comment or message you with how much they want for it :)

If you see later on in the video, after I looked some things up I realized what I had 😅😅😅 they didn't FEEL like anything special and I didn't see the name at first, but even if I had seen the name I wouldn't have known they were that expensive until I looked at the prices 😂
$250 that’s just bullshit you know they’re not worth that you can get those brushes at half price at TJ Maxx or less as of most of the make up there it just makes me mad when the beauty boxes do these things!
From what I've gathered the value lies in the fact that they're ethically sourced real hair and wood, and from what I've been told they're made by special artisans. People are saying they're amazing brushes so I'm excited to see what the hype is about when I use them 🥰🥰🥰

There is no reason to be mean, I had never even heard of the brush brand before and that one item composed over half of the box value, I am very happy with the things I got, if you watched, I was thrilled to get all of the palettes, and will use everything I got, however it is not incorrect to say that I wouldn't have purchased the items I got for myself due to the cost.
