This stress eventually made me realise that I am happy with corporate job. I don't want to be proved as a failure, I will do along with job. I want to live life and expectations kills. I took a lot of time to transition from ias to private jobs but both are good. Also a lot of people who wasted my, time during prep don't even talk now, behaves weirdly. I laugh and feel I should have given more time to studies rather than uselsss relationships tht don't care about ur existence. I completely agree 2022 I gave my 5th attempt couldn't able to clear and this year not eligible for last attempt. Last 7 years my life contained into two aspects my job and my upsc preparation and failing in 2022 and before failures made me very cynical about myself undervaluing my self confidence towards life. Even with my spine issue in 2020 and its surgery in 2021 I still gave attempts in 2021 and 2022 with the belief that I'll clear upsc this time. This video has been very positive for me because now I realize in past 7 years I kept myself surrounded with my job and upsc dreams and neglected my life completely, isolating with outside world. Now I letting myself into do something more constructive and engaging with people and world. I would say having a dream is good but dreams like upsc or other government examination has some limitations and few seats. If you are not able to clear examination in 3 or 4 attempts look for another aspect of life. Life is big and future is unknown, no one knows what's destiny has planned for you.
@Pragnesh Kumar same happened with me during JEE , I was interested in programming but due to our education systems i had to study PCM , eventually i failed in JEE , took admission in a private college now I'm in my 3rd year already done two internships and i have a PPO too , even I'm writing this comment during my Lecture 🤧 , If you learn from the journey it will always be worth , but I've seen people getting depressed and demotivated after they fail to crack an exam
People search for those who cleared the examination. But they need to keep in mind the reality we often don't get to see. Majority of the aspirants who appear for this examination don't qualify and their struggles are often ignored. Those who succeed create history but those who fail make us aware of the reality that even less than one percent of the aspirants crack this examination. The process of preparation is tedious and covering the syllabus itself is a herculean task. People often feel isolated, anxious and depressed during this process.... Kudos to these aspirants for opening up about their journey of preparation. 🙌
I think it's beautiful that you cover the dark side of preparation... It broke me mentally & I went in depression & I'm still recovering it.. It's wonderfull... That you covered it..

Because of pressure I couldn't focus or can clear or was busy in family problems but I think my temperament was not according what this exam demands. After giving 5.5yrs to the government exams and missing exams by 0.42 marks and very less less marks I missed the cutt off now I decided to quit but when I see my books I feel crying don't know how to overcome but after giving full hardwork I am nowhere but still I have the confidence I will do something better than the government jobs.....

Even after you lost your dreams and everything there still hope you can do better for yourself tomorrow. NEVER LOST HOPE.. I m an UPSC aspirant too. 3 Preliminary. 1 Mains.. Journey is in the process.
I didn sacrifice such things, so may be I am not in the list but also I felt that what if I had done all this and did not clear. I am happy like this only at least I know that I could have given more time to upsc but it's depressive journey was not something that I can pull it off. Selection is meagre. It is a waste of time I would suggest to go and do a job and enjoy life. Upsc will tear u up that even after hard work u won't get anything. None of my friends cleared. Wastage of 6 years. You will be proud initially but after a while u ll realise that huge competition and selection is 0.001% . I tell myself that it's ok may be I could have studied but corona and everything didn let me study. But transitioning to other field also takes time when I knew my efforts could hve been more. Imagine what people who have studied so hard didn clear. Their mental strength must have gone to zero. How much taunt they have to hear even I hear at times. But anyway I am out of it and I am happy.
The journey will never end . Everyone has a beautiful life ahead , we only work hard and always be positive. Amit sir is our mentor to guide in this journey .
With due respect to everyone's struggle; I would like to say with outmost respect- giving yourself another chance is easy when your family is well settled. Middle class guys have existential crisis during preparations, think about them if they fail. Ps- Fan of amit sir, here!!!

I felt touched by this video. Nice Print team. I also gave six attempts (2015-2020) n 4 mains(17-20). It certainly takes away lots of energy of us. Its hard to rebuild the original fearless daring and rebel one in self. Certainly my anxiety and panic attacks during those days,, now I can understand. But as life has to go on....

Parents, friends and happiness, everything has to be sacrificed for UPSC, I am also an IAS aspirant, feeling all this 🙂
I didn sacrifice such things, so may be I am not in the list but also I felt that what if I had done all this and did not clear. I am happy like this only at least I know that I could have given more time to upsc but it's depressive journey was not something that I can pull it off. Selection is meagre. It is a waste of time
I would suggest to go and do a job and enjoy life.
I did not want to sacrifice my family and loved ones for an exam whose percentage of selection is less than 1 %
