I loved grinding this ship i actually accidentally fired h.e. and discovered the power of the French shotgun 💥💥💥 that is the Lyon, great vid 👍

Love this ship. It’s really good against all types of ships. Didn’t know how good the HE was until this video, so I’m going to love this thing even more now.
On the PC version the Lyon is the best cruiser masher in the game. I opened a game with three dev strikes and laughed when people called me a hacker. If you can blap out the cruisers on the enemy team and give your DD's greater operational freedom it is almost a guaranteed win. Also if you can support your teams DD's when the start contesting a cap and invariably make contact with an enemy DD, blapping the enemy DD with an HE salvo will guarantee your DD wins the fight greatly increasing your teams chances to win. Farming HE damage off battleships may put up impressive numbers but you can't rely on the enemy players being colossally stupid like that first Iowa. A smart BB player will manage his DC and repair party consumables and recover almost all fire damage so focus on Cruisers and DD's first and farm damage when your team has secured the win.

I got wrecked by one of these in my Baltimore last night. He citadelled me when I was running away from him. But I citadelled him from the front so there's that :)

The Balti is fully capable of citadelling this thing quickly and making it disappear
sp Badger I somehow citadelled a queen elizabeth with my nurnberg so unexpected citadels are a thing.

I'm on the tier 4 at the moment and not enjoying at all.
I'm at tier 5 (Normandie) and and it gets much better. The Bretagne just feels like a potato.
Want to hear something strange? I had much, much better games in the Bretagne as compared to the Normandie.
@@a.edw.160 Yep, maybe the slower pace imposed by the Bretagne suits you better.
Just use it as a long distance sniper. Skill it out for range on the main batteries.
It's a very solid t4 ship and imo one of the best in its teir

Edit: The destroyer you’re thinking of that’s guns only is a Dutch destroyer called the Friesland.

Hey Spartan, have you done a video on the Normandie yet? I still haven't quite figured out how to play it effectively. The main guns in particular have been giving me mixed signals. I had a match earlier today where I double-citadeled a cruiser at the edge of my firing range with one salvo of AP, and then I had a match where I fired at least 4 full salvos of AP into the flat broadside of a Nurnberg at 6.5km and didn't get a single citadel; I depleted around 40% of his HP before he burned me to death and I felt like throwing my controller across the room. Are the guns inconsistent on the Normandie or was RNG just screwing me over like usual? Any advice would be appreciated.
Yes he has. Go to his channel and then video section and then look about a week ago.

HarmfulDesign the reason you didn’t do much damage is that your shells are not arming correctly, Fire AP if he tries to bow tank you, fire high explosive otherwise , has this happen the other day

Has anyone played with this ship recently? I have the exact same commander and mods but the dispersion now is nothing like what I’m seeing in this video
16:28 ..remember before you shoot your guns, looking at your retical ....look at the white “ mountain triangle “ symbol to the right of your retical...that means your rounds will hit land...and DONT SHOOT
Yes and no. That is its job but it is delayed and doesnt always trigger in time as well as not telling if you're rear guns will hit if your front guns are clesr

Will you grab the warspite? Jts a great ship and it has the regular ap shells and not british ap shells

Don't sleep on the AP it does a lot of damage as well but only broadside like that Iowa other than that it's just ricochets

What is your favorite tier 6 battleship? I realized that the Nagato is the best tier 6 battleship I have played so far. I was very disappointed with the Gneisenau. It doesn’t match my play style. So, I sold it and bought the Nagato.
It may be an unpopular opinion but I absolutely loved the Colorado. As long as you dont give your broadside to a loaded BB it is a very dangerous ship

The Phoenix is so fragile....and weak. They could have given the US better light cruisers. The St. Louis was fun tho! So many guns!!! I love your gameplay in the Iowa! I am determined to get the Iowa.
@@ijnyamato4351 Phoenix and Omaha are fantastic you just cannot give the side of the ship.
Omaha is one of the best tier for tier. Phoenix isn't quite that good but still fully capable of running teams over

Kidd on pc has a single torp rack. Its mainly a aa boat and gunship but it does have Fletcher torps at 9.2km and decent speed

Following Shots, i tried it and while it's good for Open Waters, it's not good if you have Islands near you as when in this view, you can't see where you're going, you have no awareness and it's too much to lose to have the Replay look prettier. If WG ever do a Replay System then it's different.

IMO Tier 5 Normandie is much better than tier 6 Lyon. Lyon has more guns but they have smaller caliber than her tier. Normandie has one less turret but 12 guns are A LOT already. Plus their caliber matches the tier.
Atlanta has 16 127mm guns, but can only do a 14 gun broadside.

It was the Gering it's no destroyer its an Atlanta with half the reload at tier x
Scharhorst shouldn't survive 18inch guns at half a kilometer but they do. The armor still need tweaked abit.
Jonathan Simpson it’s has a turtle back armor so it’s actually easier to do citadel to scharnhorst from a distance than a close range.

Friesland is the destroyer that doesn’t have torps bb :) but I don’t think Friesland is an American destroyer.

They've got torpedos but they only have a 6.5km range and theres only 5 tubes total. Only one "salvo" of torpedos haha

The french bbs are kinda eh because i hunt down normandies with the Pensacola and get citidels on them all the time with the 8 inch guns and when im im my new mexico or gniesenau i make it my mission to hunt down the french tier 5 and 6 bbs because pf the thin armor

Please can you stop giving my British battleships grief about their armour piercing seriously every game in my kgv I wreck most battleships except for the Germans due to turtleback armour but even then they aren’t able to shoot accurately back and I die most of the time to American cruisers hiding behind islands spamming HE yet its British battleships that have a “reputation” as HE spammers when I never fire it because I don’t need to
Sorry about that you are a great youtuber who makes great vids but I just don’t like it when people speak negatively about aspects of the British battleships that I find to be completely fine despite that I aspire to be as good as you at this game someday
Never spoke negatively about any british battleship all I said is the HE on this ship is comparable to the KGV which is a good thing as the HE on the KGV is absolutely fantastic.
