Sergio I was tested on reading english and arithmetic. No they were not the same problems but used the same mathmatical operations. No you cannot use calculators. And I had 17-20 question in each subject. No I dont mind u asking at all & youre welcome:)
I hear you. I'm 37 years old and going to college for the first time starting next month. After 20 years in manufacturing, I'm finally pursuing an Engineering degree. My head is spinning from all the math I have to get caught up on! Yikes! Best of luck to you in all you do. :)
Jeremy Jones we're in the same boat I had been out for 8 years. When I started I wasnt sure a brain was still up there. Now slowly but surely its come back I have 2 A's & a B (3.59gpa) Best of luck to you as well.
Thankyou so much! I am a sophomore in high school trying to pass the accuplacer in order to go to college classes through PSEO, you were so much help, thanks again!
I love this guy.... He really breaks it down to understand .... I have learn so much from you😘😘😘.... Thanks sooo very much... I recommend he is better than any teacher I have had.... Now I feel confident that I will past higher on my math test....
Thank you so much for your easy to understand videos. I focused on the Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra and got me in to the class that I need to take for my degree!
you are freaking awesome!! i love uuu!!! dont know if i can do it with out.. honestly this is helping me soo much to prepare for my test that i'm taking in like 2weeks... life saver.
Don't you want LCM of (2, 3) not LCD. unless you have your own personal meaning for LCD (like least common denominator). Normally LCD means least common divisor, and lcm is least common multiple.
U are like Pakistani Teacher they teach same way like you step by step. no wonder people say about Asian people are smart. I wanna say you are good keep it up.
Jetzany Gasca Thanks. And yes there is another way to do 19. You can multiply the original Fabric of 3 1/2 by 2/3 and then subtract your answer from 3 1/2.
Why did you make #10 an improper fraction first, found the LCD, and then solved, but you didn't do that for #11? Does it have something to do with addition and subtraction?
I know for a fact that the tenths place is one number behind the decimal so why is he saying that he's rounding to the nearest tenth but it's showing that he is rounding to the nearest hundredths place is it any different when rounding integers
+yo mamma You did not ask it correctly but I understand what you are saying. I multiplied both sides by 4 because I am trying to get f by itself. So to get rid of division by 4 I do the opposite which is to multiply by 4
Is it still similar to the assessment test now? Because this video was made in 2012. I watched all two parts, and you explained very well, thank you so much.
On number 19, solving just by subtracting I got 2 5/6. I googles it and many people got this answer as well as yours. I don't understand why i got my answer
teena333 because she's not using 2/3 of a yard of fabric. She's using 2/3 of the total fabric she bought. She bought 3.5 yards, so you're taking 2/3 out of 3 and 1/3.
This might be a little late but, basically, he knows that he's looking for what is left over. So given that 2/3 of it was used only 1/3 can be left over. Simply think 2/3+ 1/3 = 1. He made the problem smaller and easier by using 1/3 rather than 2/3 and subtracting later on. Hope this helps.
because Erica's not using 2/3 of a yard of fabric. She's using 2/3 of the TOTAL fabric she bought. She bought 3.5 yards, so you're taking 2/3 out of 3.5 yards
Hey man! I have to complete the Intermediate Math Skills Assessment (IMSA) for Algonquin College! I've seen the 'Accuplacer' and can't imagine the IMSA is that easy! Comments? Help? Anything would be appreciated! -Cory
The exam is adaptive and could vary in complexity levels based on how many questions you get right. So you want to study the all the three exams to see exactly where you fit.
On number 11 why would you not do like you did on #10. Turn 2 and 1/2 and 4 and 2/3 into 15/6 + 28/6 which comes out to the same as you had originally which was 43/6 or 7 1/6? Just curious. Thanks!
Dustin S. Great question. You can do it that way too. The bottom line is that the two fraction have to be in the same form (mixed or improper) with the fractions having the same denominator in order for you to add them up. And you are welcome !!
Question number 19 doesn't make any sense, you supposed to subtract 2/3 out of 7/2 to find wht Erica use for fabric but you just solve the 7/2 itself and come up with 1,1/6. Need to know how you come up with tht?
Great question. The of component in the question indicates a multiplicative relationship. If 2/3 yards were used then what you are suggesting will be applicable. However in question 19, 2/3 of the fabric was used or think of it as 66.66% being used up. This is a fraction of the whole so you just multiply to get what was used or left behind.
I am confused on how to set up problems. Like on #19, I thought the two fractions would be subtracting because you are taking 2/3 out of 3 1/2? But it was multiplication instead? How do you tell which sign to use? Thank you :)
On my practice test, #15 just shows If 2 divided by 4 equals n, then n is between ? the 2 and 4 are just below the division sign. I do not know where anyone is getting the 3 over the 2 or the 1 over the four
Sure dividing 1345 by 99 without a calculator is complicated. So by rounding both the dividend and divisor to the tens place it made it possible for me to easily divide and round.
honestly that first question was fucking bullshit i would of never ever guessed it as putting the 1 remander into a fucking whole and turning it into a fraction. fuck math
I passed all three parts of the accuplacer with your help!!!! thank you sooooo much!!! nursing school here I come.
Yay!!! Congratulations!! We hope you have a very successful nursing program. We have tons of math tutorials for you too just in case
Sergio I was tested on reading english and arithmetic. No they were not the same problems but used the same mathmatical operations. No you cannot use calculators. And I had 17-20 question in each subject. No I dont mind u asking at all & youre welcome:)
tikeesha b good luck
softland Comman ty so much!!!!
You should take up modeling in your spare time dear nurse. ;-)
oh good lord i used to be a pro solving all those problems in high school. After 2 years away from school i can barely count. :(
Beshoy Sadek meeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Yeah I'm almost 20 years removed from high school and feel like a moron. It might be true. lol
They don't teach memory retention skills in school. Dont feel bad.
Bro, I'm going on 20. And I need this for this paramedic screening exam.
I got into nursing school tysvm for helping students like me in math...youre a Godsend.
tysvm for your kind words. We are glad that we could help
Congratulations on getting into the nursing program, tikeesha! :)
Jeremy Jones thank you so much!!! Its a ton of work but im really enjoying the experience thus far!!
I hear you. I'm 37 years old and going to college for the first time starting next month. After 20 years in manufacturing, I'm finally pursuing an Engineering degree. My head is spinning from all the math I have to get caught up on! Yikes! Best of luck to you in all you do. :)

I feel less dumb now. Thanks!
You are welcome
Thankyou so much! I am a sophomore in high school trying to pass the accuplacer in order to go to college classes through PSEO, you were so much help, thanks again!
Parts 1 and 2 are super videos. Made very easy to understand!
I love this guy.... He really breaks it down to understand .... I have learn so much from you😘😘😘.... Thanks sooo very much... I recommend he is better than any teacher I have had.... Now I feel confident that I will past higher on my math test....
thank you so much. Going back to college after 10 years, these videos really helped refresh my memory!!!
You are welcome!!! Glad I could help
I did the solving problems out the more time consuming way. He's showing us the easier quickest way to do this. Still learning 👍
Excellent!
Theres another way to do with Q.19
You can multiply the original Fabric of 3 1/2 by 2/3
then subtract your answer from 3 1/2
thanks alot 😊
Q17. Like you did before 1-1/3-1/6=S , 1/1-1/3-1/6=S , LCD 6 so 6-2-1/6=S , 3/6=S , 1/2=S
I would kill for a teacher like you. you make it so simple.
Thank you so much for your easy to understand videos. I focused on the Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra and got me in to the class that I need to take for my degree!
you are freaking awesome!! i love uuu!!! dont know if i can do it with out.. honestly this is helping me soo much to prepare for my test that i'm taking in like 2weeks... life saver.
Thanks for your kind words.
Amazing I take my test this wensday n now I feel more confident to take it thanks, man!!
thank you so much for these videos. you are blessed, i hope I score high enough to get placed into stats !
Thank You, SO much you explain every single problem simply and with details!!!! It HELP me alot HOPE you make more videos!!!!!!!
I have a placement test next week and your videos help me , thank you so much
How you did on the test?
thanks!! i like that you explain how you go through everything step by step. great vid!!
You are very welcome!!! Glad I could help
Thank You soo much! I I passed my math test :) God Bless you
You are very welcome. May it go well with you
Fogg.
Don't you want LCM of (2, 3) not LCD. unless you have your own personal meaning for LCD (like least common denominator). Normally LCD means least common divisor, and lcm is least common multiple.
wow I started studying 8 days before the test..im such a procrastinator
So helpful!! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Never mind! I found my mistake. Thank you for showing the different ways to find the answer.
#19 is so confusing can you break it down
take mines tomorrow hope i pass
Amen to that. I hope you pass.
Did you pass?? 😁
You are very welcome! Glad I could help
U are like Pakistani Teacher they teach same way like you step by step. no wonder people say about Asian people are smart. I wanna say you are good keep it up.
omg u teach so well! i understood everything u made everythinf seem so easy
Great videos. I'm a bit confused with the way you showed number 19. Is there another way of coming up with the answer without using the pie graph.
Jetzany Gasca Thanks. And yes there is another way to do 19. You can multiply the original Fabric of 3 1/2 by 2/3 and then subtract your answer from 3 1/2.
maths gotserved
its other method that work with me >>thanks alot
how come the whole number is 1/6?
Thanks so much. Im preparing for the accuplacer
Thanks for your kind words. Glad I could help :D
Thank you Thank you so much big help with these videos!! Thank you!!
Thank You, this is what I was looking for!!!
Thanks again. I clear my concepts bec of u!
Thank you very much, this was very helpful!
for #17 I subtracted just like you did in v 1 and I still got same answer.
Thank you this really helped me brush up
yeah they are basically thesame thing!
Why did you make #10 an improper fraction first, found the LCD, and then solved, but you didn't do that for #11? Does it have something to do with addition and subtraction?
I wondered the same thing. I feel like that will confuse me on the test.
Thanks for the help professor.
bro i took a placement test yesturday and you video had the same question thanks a lot
You are welcome
I know for a fact that the tenths place is one number behind the decimal so why is he saying that he's rounding to the nearest tenth but it's showing that he is rounding to the nearest hundredths place is it any different when rounding integers
isn't the four in the hundredths place ?
I'm taking notes as I watch this
You are very welcome!
My placement test is in 2 weeks! 😭 freaking out
You got this. Let us know if you need math support.
this is very helpful however i was a bit confused at question 19. is there another way to do it?
On question 13, why to the 4's you are using to multiply with cancel/divide out? Did I ask that right?
+yo mamma You did not ask it correctly but I understand what you are saying. I multiplied both sides by 4 because I am trying to get f by itself. So to get rid of division by 4 I do the opposite which is to multiply by 4

I did the same mistake, I guess we just have to read more carefully.
Question 13 literally makes no sense. Where did you get 8? It was not explained at all.
ask nicely!
Very Good!! Thank you
you are very welcome
We don't know what to practice further because the name of the math topics were excluded unfortunately.
Love it! Thank you Thank YOU!!!
you are the best
sharif kabir Oh wow thank you so much.
On 19)
Why did you put 1/3 instead of 2/3 I’m confused.
In Q#13 why you just don't say 8x4(-22)=f. I think is easier.
thank you helped a lot
You are very welcome
on question 12. You should round the 4 down to 0.
My college exam is next week thank you
your are good at this but im still too sumb to understand.. im screwed tomorrow..
wow this helped me a lot thnk u...i have a accuplacer test coming up
I'm taking mine soon did you end up doing well?
You are welcome!
Cause I learned so much from u than my teachers
You are very welcome
Thank a lot, you are great!!!
For #19. why can't it be 3 1/2 - 2/3 and subtract it like a regular fraction instead of doing the 1/3 times 3 1/2?
OMG. I was confused at that question too! Shouldn't it be 3 1/2 - 2/3 instead? But when you get the answer, it will be 17/6 which is 2 5/6
+Saniel Rian Guelas ah I have the same question. did you ever find the answer?
Me too! Why isn't just 3/12-2/3? I still don't get it. Specially when you see that answer among the others.
because Erica's not using 2/3 of a yard of fabric. She's using 2/3 of the TOTAL fabric she bought. She bought 3.5 yards, so you're taking 2/3 out of 3.5 yards
Why did you subtract 2 on #13? Where did the 2 come from? Is that the number of numbers you are already aware of?
Number 19 is confusing
What happened to the Accuplacer Arithmetic pt II? I cannot seem to find it. Help if you can. Thank you.
Rosemary Anibogwu Sorry there was an error in the labels. This is actually part II
thank you
+reefwarren You are super welcome.
Oh wow thanks. You must be a great person yourself :D
Thank you so much. You're awesome :)
thank you thank you!!!
When i put 4.62 x 10^-2 on my calculator it said .0462
Cuitlahuac Aguilar Yes sire that is correct!!!
Hey man! I have to complete the Intermediate Math Skills Assessment (IMSA) for Algonquin College! I've seen the 'Accuplacer' and can't imagine the IMSA is that easy!

maths gotserved ohh...okay. it make sense now , I see wht you did there. Thanks; appreciate it!!
You are welcome!
Excellent!!! thanx a 1,000,000
genious!!
thanks so much
I am confused on how to set up problems. Like on #19, I thought the two fractions would be subtracting because you are taking 2/3 out of 3 1/2? But it was multiplication instead? How do you tell which sign to use? Thank you :)
Thank you.
On my practice test, #15 just shows If 2 divided by 4 equals n, then n is between ?
the 2 and 4 are just below the division sign. I do not know where anyone is getting the 3 over the 2 or the 1 over the four
In Q17 why did we equal the No. of the books 1 ?
Thanks a lot
How can I find the this problems so I can print them and practice? Thanks.
great vid
Thanks a lot
Thank you :-)
On question 12 why did you round up 1345 to 1350? I thought you only round up if the tenths place is 5 or greater?
Sure dividing 1345 by 99 without a calculator is complicated. So by rounding both the dividend and divisor to the tens place it made it possible for me to easily divide and round.
would these question be on my math test ?
I don't get this, my test Is today and I didn't study at all but I'm not nervous, I'm annoyed I gotta go take that shit
i need hlep on # 19. dont get it
surpose to be D
i tried the method from #8 on question #17 and got the right answer, was this a fluke or can i use the #8 method?
Are these the same exact questions on all placement tests?
Can someone please explain question number 19?
Please! Does anybody know how well I have to do in college level math to be accepted in my course ? ( Radiography ). Thanks!
i love you fir this
i wish my teachers would explain things like you!
Does this still apply in 2018?
David Alejo smh. >.< ofcourse my guy.
honestly that first question was fucking bullshit i would of never ever guessed it as putting the 1 remander into a fucking whole and turning it into a fraction. fuck math
