I'm only 34 but I wanted to make sure I did all I could to avoid menopause symptoms. Going plant-based I've been able to reverse my diabetes, gone down 4 pants sizes, lost and kept off 70lbs, no more headaches, mood swings or GI upset! Thank you for sharing this with the world!

I know this comment is 2 years ago and I hope you're doing well, but I wanted to say SAME. I'm 37 and have been having hot flashes since 31. It's so severely affected my daily life. I've periodically gone plant based, but never as long term as I've been plant based/vegan now. I can't believe the change. I really don't get hot flashes at all anymore. If I have gotten a sense of one coming on, which is rare, it's as gone as quickly as it came.

I have been juicing fruit and vegetables. I have only had 2-3 hot flashes (without sweating) in the last week! I had been suffering with up to 8 hot flashes a day for 3 months. It also stopped the heart palpitations which were brought on by the hot flashes. Worth a try!

I experienced the same results when I reduced my dietary fat - my hot flashes went away...completely! When I eat too much avocado or nuts/seeds, they return. Bottom line, if you suffer from hot flashes (and other menopause symptoms) it's worth experimenting with your fat consumption. Praying it'll help someone :)

Thankyou for saying that. I thought he was crazy, lol. I probably get more "healthy" fats than anything else in my diet (trying to eat healthy, which am starting to get confused about what that is since menopause), and feeling like the hot flashes are killing me sometimes. You saying that is making me go and re-listen. Thankyou. Blessings!

A good hack for peanut butter is the powdered variety; I use PB2. You use 2 TB with water (more or less depending on the consistency you like) and it’s only 1.5g of fat (2%). So easy and tasty. I use it all the time in smoothies and on oatmeal.

I’ve been doing a whole food, plant-based diet since June 1 and I can see a huge difference. I started it as part of a Daniel Fast and kept it going because I felt so good while doing it. I have learned a new way to cook that is fun and maximizes use of the local Farmer’s Markets, have lost 10 lbs of fluff (I’m generally thin) and have not had one hot flash or night sweat since starting the diet. Thank you for your science-based info! It’s a game changer. I’m gently introducing this to my family and they are coming around more slowly, yet I’m hopeful they will at least reduce the amount of processed and animal products they consume.

I’ve come up with some wonderful ways to eat the soybeans, I put them in my tofu scramble for breakfast, I use about 1/4 cup soybeans with frozen berries, banana and lemon juice and Ceylon cinnamon and water mixed in my nutribullet will make an amazing smoothie, and one of my favorites is putting the soybeans in my air fryer for about 8 minutes at 375 degrees for a crunchy snack. I was wondering if others would share their favorite ways to use cooked soybeans.

What I have learned is that I have to eat slow and with small portions and to not drink fluids with my meal because they dilute the juices that help to digest my food. Drinking fluids with food can give you an upset stomach h. Thanks for this video.

I don't know much about breast cancer but I did hear a US oncologist interviewed on an excellent podcast called My Menopause Doctor. This podcast is by a wonderful UK doctor ( Dr Louise Newson ) that is an advocate for women going through menopause and hrt. She has a few episodes focusing on breast cancer & menopause. Dr Avrum Bluming ( oncologist )has written a book called Oestrogen Matters. His wife actually got breast cancer but after treatment she is now safely taking hrt.
I am not saying this is what you should do or even what you can do. But it would be worth listening to the podcast, particularly when Dr Louise Newson interviews Dr Avrum Bluming and they discuss breast cancer and menopause extensively and try to dispell some myths.
Reading Dr Avrum Bluming's book Oestrogen Matters might be worth a read to.

I noticed some months ago how little oil or fats I was eating and was trying to add more like in my salads, as I am not fat and need lots of energy to ride my bicycle for 30 minutes to an hour to schools. I felt more enrgy from more pasta or noodles. I was wondering what to eat and with not too much preparation. I live in Vietnam. Any advice? I will try this. I'm vegan and have 2 friends also in menopause who are vegan and none of us have hot flashes. We wondered if it was the soy. But to be honest I only eat tofu and that's occasionally.

When it comes to menopause symptoms, see a study by Lei with the title "The association between soy isoflavone intake and menopausal symptoms after breast cancer diagnosis: a prospective longitudinal cohort study on Chinese breast cancer patients." The findings were negative (soy did not relieve the symptoms). Another study has similar findings: "There was no evidence that soy food consumption reduced MPS among breast cancer patients. High soy intake may increase the prevalence of hotflashes among premenopausal patients. Our study suggests that soy acts as an estrogen antagonist in breast cancer patients." (see "Soy intake in association with menopausal symptoms during the first 6 and 36 months after breast cancer diagnosis" by Dorjgochoo).

I was/am doing WFPB & low fat & low carb diet for 2 decades, but after my hysterectomy I still suffered severe meno symptoms. I began taking Vit E daily and all my symptoms resolved in a few days!
I still struggle with weight loss even on strict OMAD & IF (one meal a day & intermittant fasting). Unfortunately, i cant do any soy, cohosh, or other
    estrogenics per my oncologist.

I had a total hysterectomy at the age of 38 and was put on Premarin afterward, I am now 53 and took myself off the Premarin should I be doing anything to ensure that I am not losing bone density?

    • @BedCrunch
      @BedCrunch 2 роки тому +2

Exercise, such as weight lifting, is key in preventing loss of bone density (and building strong bones). But do be mindful to execute the exercise in a safe way not to suffer from prolapse after hysterectomy. Also find out plant sources of calcium (like broccoli).

I have suffered from menopause symptoms since i was taken off premarin because I got estrogen receptive breast cancer. Since 2007 I have gained about 45 lbs, dont sleep, if I do I wake up drenched. So my husband & I started plant based diet in dec 2021. I gave lost 20 lbs which is great but no change in menopause symptoms. I do not have increased energy like my spouse. I guess I will try the soybeans, dont know what else to do. Help...drenched
