      Oh I hope you have a wonderful upcoming cruise. I’m not sure what kind of room you have on the bliss. But if you don’t have one with a balcony The observation area at the front of the ship on deck 15 is such a great place to go. You can see wildlife and the glaciers. Great place to grab a snack when the buffet is closed between lunch and dinner.

    We've never taken a cruise, so this Alaskan cruise is our bucket list trip. I'm doing a lot of research now and I did not like a lot of the reviews about the ship and the excursions. It made me feel a little anxiety, wondering if we made the right choice. Thank you so much for all of your information! It helped me have a direction and know what to expect. I am concerned about having the time we need in ports to do it justice. I wrote everything you said down!!

      I am so glad you are getting to do a bucket list trip. So excited for you. I have actually been on this ship in 2022 and in 2023. I think the ship is great. Definitely check out the observation lounge on deck 15. At certain times they have snacks and great views from the front of the ship which is great for glacier or wildlife viewing. The only place I felt rushed was at Ketchikan. In Juneau we rented the car from Turro and it was the best day. We were able to go to the Mendenhall Glacier on our own time, the salmon hatchery, and I forgot to mention that we went to St Terese which was a great place to try to catch some humpbacks. We didn't see any while we were there but many people had. If you have any questions I honestly wouldn't mind answering them for you as long as I can. It might help you make the most of your vacation. Also, many people that we talked with while out on port loved the ship too.

      @@AmandaPerkins815Thank you so much for responding to me so quickly! I've watched a few videos and your video was the most helpful for me, my personality and our budget. You laid it out perfectly! I am pretty high-strung on trying to have itineraries and not being late. I don't need that stress! So when I hear all of the negative feedback, that doesn't sit well for a person like me. You've taken some of that pressure off of my shoulders. I do have a question since you said I could do that. When we get back into Seattle after the cruise, I was told it would be 6:00 a.m.. My husband booked a return flight to our state at 11:15 a.m.. do you know if we will have the time we need between docking and disembarking and being shuttled back to airport to check on time. I know you're supposed to be at the airport a couple of hours before your flight. I have no idea how long these things take. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Thank you Amanda. I started watching and subscribed to your channel to watch your reviews on Lug bags, but I happen to be taking this itinerary on the Bliss this summer! I have been on 3 Alaska cruises out of Seattle, but this itinerary will have a few new ports for me. I appreciate the tips.

      Thank you for being a subscriber. I truly appreciate it. Oh my gosh I loved the Bliss. It was such a nice ship. Curious which ports are new to you with this itinerary? I bet icy straight point is one of them. We did the zip rider there in 2022 and it was so much fun!!! I hope you have a wonderful cruise.

    Thank you for the video. My wife booked this cruise for my birthday in April. Can you please tell me what car rental service that you used. That is an awesome idea that I never would’ve thought of. Thank you

    • @AmandaPerkins815
      @AmandaPerkins815  8 місяців тому

      Oh what a wonderful birthday gift. We didn’t use a rental car company. We chose to book through Turo. In Sitka we found someone who delivered the car to the terminal and we literally walked off the ship and it was parked right there. In Juneau we did the same thing and booked through Turo. Again we found someone who delivered it to a side road right by where we docked. It was an additional $20 but well worth it. I think in Juneau they did have Avis but you would have had to get a taxi or ride share to get there bc it wasn’t close to the dock. Well worth it in my opinion bc you aren’t spending a lot of money for cruise shore excursions and can do the same thing at a fraction of the price. Let me know if you have any other questions. Have a wonderful trip!!

    • @AmandaPerkins815
      @AmandaPerkins815  3 місяці тому

      We used turo for the car rental. If you are not familiar with them they have individuals that let you rent their cars. We picked out an suv at Sitka and a Toyota Camry at Juneau. Both individuals dropped the cars off at the port for us for an additional fee. I was skeptical at first to try turo but we have used it in Alaska, Canada and Las Vegas and it’s worked out really well.

      Glad you liked the video and hope you found it helpful. We used Turo. We found an individual who would deliver the car to the terminal for $20 more. It was really convenient because we didn’t have to get a ride share to a rental car place. In Juneau and Sitka we used Turo and there were several cars you could choose. Some would deliver to the terminal and some did not. It was really the best thing because it saved so much money.

    Thank you for this video. You mentioned the guppies program for kids 6 months tp 5 years. Was this program available on the ship?

    • @AmandaPerkins815
      @AmandaPerkins815  9 місяців тому

      Yes the guppies program is on that ship. They have the guppies for 6 months to 5 years and then Splash Academy for 5-12 year olds. They are side by side on deck 5 I believe. If you have any more questions I'll be happy to help if I can.

    I took my family on the bliss to Alaska last August. The ship was beautiful but it didn't have large enough rooms for everyone to see the shows they had,and they only showed them 2 times the whole week. Also we were told we would get free internet but we ended up having to pay for it. The drink package was another joke because my daughter doesn't ever drink alcohol but her husband had to pay for all adults over 21 in the room just so he could have a drink package. I don't think I will ever go on Norwegian again. I have sailed on 4 different cruise lines and this was the worst ever.

    • @AmandaPerkins815
      @AmandaPerkins815  2 місяці тому

      It seems like people have so many different likes and such. I went on the Bliss the year before and everything went so smoothly. However, on this trip they were having internet problems and we stood outside in the pouring rain in Seattle for 3 hours just trying to get checked in. Had that been our first NCL cruise we would have probably never used them again.

      @@AmandaPerkins815 Hey Amanda, thank you for your wonderful information, I enjoyed your channel very much! We are going to Alaska cruise this end of June, with 2 kids ( 4 and 1), any recommendations? What to pack, whet and excursions, how to plan our day….? Anything you would like to recommend will be great! Thank you

    • @AmandaPerkins815
      @AmandaPerkins815  3 місяці тому

      @@sophiacathie6173 Oh yay! I hope you enjoy your upcoming cruise! It will be amazing. I know that traveling with a family of 4 can get expensive if you do excursions at every port. I did not travel with kids as young as yours. My boys were 7 and 9. They really enjoyed the Mendenhall glacier at Juneau. If you are going to Sitka I think the Fortress of the Bear would be such a great idea. What we did to save money was rent a car. It was not very convenient to rent from a large rental company. We were able to rent a car from Turo in Sitka and Juneau and it was very convenient. Definitely make sure you have binoculars. You can view the wildlife from the ship or if you decide to book an excursion where you will be viewing wildlife. You never know when it's going to be raining so have a rain jacket and waterproof or resistant shoes. If your itinerary involves glacier viewing make sure to wear gloves and a beanie hat. You will regret it if you don't. June is the absolute best time to visit. The temperature is the best and the mosquitos are not too bad then.
