    If I looked back 10 years I would puke looking at some of my old art. I guess that's a good thing that I am improving but I have a hard time compiling a collection of work that I am proud of. I am becoming more consistant in quality so maybe when I'm 50 I'll have a healthy collection of work. I love how you have so much consistent style and quality!

    I've been going through the same burnout and lack of motivation too! I've been working on a large piece for over 6 months, as well as other projects such as a tarot deck and my "day job". Thanks for sharing your challenges with us.

      If you're also doing a Tarot deck, then I def share the burnout that can come with them lol. Thankfully I know the payoff will be worth it and it's something that we could sell for the rest of our lives hopefully. So hang in there and keep up with your own projects, try to find the love and fun within the creation process again as it's something that can so easily slip away!

    Came here after seeing the reel, I really liked it! Hope you manage to continue the piece, it reminded me of old puzzle piece story books. Ecah page was a chapther of the story that you would slowly piece together by msking the puzzle. I really sae the mermaid palace as such! One reel at a time sloely seeing the world come together and seeing its inhabitants and liltle stories. I see great potential eith this piece so dont give up!

    Hey!!! This entry blew my mind. Why??? Because you've shown me I'm not the only one who makes monster-sized drawings! You are the first person who's ever mentioned this kind of project. Frankly, I appreciate your wisdom on all the subjects you talk about in this episode. Your work gives me goals (in both your technique, and in time/project management) to strive for. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your thoughts, and I look forward to meeting you in person at a convention sometime!

      Thanks so much for the kind words! Good to hear someone else is also doing monster sized drawings as they can be rather daunting! Best of luck with yours and I will continue on with mine as well until the next video!

    Honestly, I still watch your videos when I'm working on my own art pieces. I'm in the beginning stages of creating my own illustrated fantasy world. And if you ever have the time, I would love to talk with you about it.

    Such a great video! I'm so excited to see how this amazing piece continues for you and your methods of creation! We're both working on single pieces that oddly enough were started in the same year and we slightly fizzled out on them (my sculpture, your mer -epic) I really love hearing about how artists enjoy the process of their work. For me, the work process used to always be the reward itself until I realized I had begun 'dopamine stacking' and unknowingly derailing myself. Since I've become more aware of that as well as all the crazy ways we can channel dopamine and various brain chemistry through healthy habits, timing, etc. It's been really eye opening and I'm stoked to have fellow art pals doing similar work!

    I loved your art! Incredible! Congratulations!
    I love to draw and post my videos on YT, but it's really, really hard to get a good number of views... so this disappoints me. But, I will keep trying.

    Hello, I like your style, it is possible that you can draw for me, the theme would be from the divine comedy, Dante and Virgil in his boat, Virgil holding a lamp illuminating the path as if he were a hermit, regards...

    Im a traditional graphite artist as well, but have thus far failed to faithfully photograph my art for reproduction; how do you translate your work from an original piece to a high quality digital image?

    • @vonnart
      @vonnart  Рік тому +1

      I work with an Epson 10000 scanner! It works very well and I only have to adjust the values slightly in photoshop and remove any cat hairs or dust that got caught in the scan!

    • @jaicalim
      @jaicalim Рік тому +1

      @@vonnart I appreciate the response, but, from what I've read, the Espon 10k only scan up to 12x17 images and I usually draw on 18x24" paper. How would you scan your larger pieces?

    • @vonnart
      @vonnart  Рік тому +1

      @@jaicalim To be honest, most of my work is either 9 x 12 or 11 x 14 inches so i haven't run into this problem often. I did have one piece last year that was about 19 inches long so i scanned the drawing in two parts and then "stitched" them together in Photoshop! I know some of my art friends take their work to professional photographer setups that take clean, shadowless pictures of their work! I haven't tried this personally yet but they seem pretty happy with the results.
      Hope this helps!
