The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born.
All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically.
Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced).
From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ua-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/v-deo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ua-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/v-deo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ua-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/v-deo.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ua-cam.com/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/v-deo.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ua-cam.com/video/CA4CInDnTk8/v-deo.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: ua-cam.com/video/162GlAEpfrY/v-deo.html.

Massachusetts was about the flight of the hippies to Las Angeles in the 60s, and the lights going out in Massachusetts. It's a reverse flower power song. Interesting. Great harmonies

The Bee Gees were a band of three brothers. Bee Gees stands for The Brothers Gibb. Sadly, two of three have passed away. Robin Gibb passed away in 2012 after battling cancer for a number of years. His twin brother Maurice died in 2003 due to complications of a twisted intestine. Barry Gibb is now the only surviving member of the Bee Gees. They had another brother who was a singer/songwriter named Andy Gibb; he had a string of hits in the late 70's/80's. He also has passed away, at the age of 30 in 1988, after battling drug addiction and depression for many years. I feel bad for Barry; all of his brothers have died. He only has one sibling left, a sister.

    Too Much Heaven.
    Nights On Broadway.
    Fanny Be Tender.
This is a rabbit hole that never disappoints should you decide to go down it. Over 5 decades of amazing songs they have written and recorded not to mention all of the other great artists that have recorded their songs.

The Gibbs were born in England, moved to Australia & finished growing up there. They went back to England to further their musical career, then came to Miami to record. They are are incomparable & without peer IMO. Check out any of the more their 1,000 songs, you will never be disappointed. RIP Andy, Maurice, & Robin. Thank you & carry on Sir Barry Gibb❤❤❤❤❤❤

They were born in The Isle of Man:
      The Isle of Man
Where were the Bee Gees from? They were born on the Isle of Man to English parents, and lived in Chorlton, Manchester until the late 1950s. The family moved to Redcliffe, in Queensland, Australia. After achieving their first chart success in Australia, they returned to the UK in 1967.16 Mar 2022

They had never been to Massachusetts but they like the sound of it. Actually they didn’t even know how to spell it. It was their first #1 in the UK and 11 in the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. Please react Bee Gees NIGHTS ON BROADWAY from their 1975 Main Course album, ❤❤❤

BeeGees For Whom the Bell Tolls, "One" official video version, Alone, To Love Somebody, I could go on and on. They had many #1 songs for themselves and wrote several for others. You need to watch Kenny Rodger and Dolly Parton sing Islands in the Stream written by The Bee Gees.

Since today this tune is the most successful song of the Brothers Gibb in Germany - 9x times Gold and 3 months on #1 - for this biggest banger of the Sixties in my home country - no Beatles, no Stones, no later Bee Gees Disco tune, comes even close to this legendary track 🔥🏅

Robin (the one who leads this song), and his twin brother (the one closest to the screen, on Robin’s right), both passed away. BARRY GIBB (the other one playing the guitar, with all the hair) is still living today. He’s also the same Barry Gibb that did the duet with Michael Jackson that you reacted to, when you were asking who was Barry Gibb. That video was made in 2001 (I believe, and by that time Barry was in his 50’s.)
MJ and Barry were really close and at one point, Michael was staying at Barry’s home in Miami. When Barry’s 4th son was born, he named him after Michael and he was also named his godfather.
Barry’s vocal range was amazing (MJ’s too)!

The song was about the hippy movement in the late 60s. Leaving the hometown of the song to find themselves in San Francisco. Home is calling though. No Bee Gees are British, born on Isle of Man, before Manchester, then Australia, then back home to UK.
