If we could encapsulate the Gospel in one word it would be the word, “COME”.
This is the great difference between the Law and the Gospel.
The Law says “Get away you dirty sinners”.
The Gospel says “Come to me you dirty sinners.”
The Law repels the sinner.
The Gospel invites the sinners.
The Law reveals our sins.
The Gospel redeemed our sins.
Jesus invites those who are tired, burdened, or weary to come to him for rest and relief.
He offers a new way of living, symbolized by taking on his "yoke," which signifies learning from him and following his teachings.
Jesus assures that his teachings are not burdensome but rather liberating, offering peace and rest for the soul. It's a call for salvation.
