  • As the ark of the covenant arrived in the city of David, Michal, David's wife, peered down from her window and witnessed King David joyously leaping and dancing in the presence of the Lord. Michal felt disdain towards what she deemed as undignified behavior, and this made Michal remain childless until her death.
This is a reminder for us to expect that when we praise God, there will be Michals who will be there to feel contempt for us. We can never worship the Lord and criticize someone at the same time.
Church, remember that genuine praise isn't dependent on fleeting emotions but on a sincere willingness to exalt the Almighty. Dancing before the Lord transcends traditions and gender. It is a tangible expression of inner gratitude towards God's goodness. However, praise demands sacrifice-offering our strength, voice, and energy to honor the Lord. A true worshiper persists in glorifying the Lord even when alone or even when others don't.
Do not allow troubles to hinder your worship. Instead, persist in prayer, continue worship, and dance without ceasing until it rains. To receive the fullness of God's blessings, we must seek the constant presence of the Lord in our lives. Let us reclaim the purity of dancing, recognizing it as both a natural and spiritual act of worship, changing what the devil has distorted.
Our dance isn't a performance; it's a heartfelt offering to the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
