    That's a choice some guys make. At Donnie's level it isn't about health or mobility or aesthetics; it's about doing whatever it takes to be the best. Same thing with all sports. If you throw the shot 80m but get out of breath tying your shoes... You're not in the best health, but you're still the record holder. Laser beam focus on one goal and sacrificing everything else has made Donnie one of the strongest lifters ever. Not condemning or condoning anything, just explaining the mindset.

    He's cutting down to 275 right now. I can understand why just listening to that power breath on the audio in this video.

      A jumbo jet landing on my head would also break me in half. What's your point? Not one of these was even REMOTELY close to being in. Pathetic. Stay mad ✌

    best power squater beside ray williams they should go head to head in competition that would be remembered forever and blaine sumner as well these are not normal powerlifters. they have spiritual strength deep inside blessed .

      You just dont understand equipped training artard. They're training sticking points most likely so they're not gonna go full depth

      I am supposed to look at his breath? What exactly am I looking for? I had no idea that you can see someone’s breath. This just might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of.

    While I do give geared lifters more leeway on squat depth, this is just too high.

    • @harryangel4822
      @harryangel4822 3 роки тому

      This is so true. Thank you for saying so. Too many people just give it a pass. If you do not get the proper depth you should never be given the lift.

    "Started looking Asian." Original. But we squat below parallel and, except for sumo wrestlers, aren't 40% body fat.

    This Donnie Thompson character gives a whole new pathetic meaning to the idea that you don’t have to go down very low in the squat for it to count in competition. This guy gets three white lights on lifts where otherwise he should’ve been banned from the sport for being so ridiculous. I’ve never witnessed this man squat below parallel ever even with 135 lbs as a warm-up. What a complete disgrace. It just gives powerlifting a bad look and a bad name. Completely disrespectful to the legends who came before him that did it the right way.

      Powerlifting seems to be past this at this point. Especially with the growth of raw lifting .
