Only thing that would mess up the switch to Wellbia UNCHEATER is the JP plugin system not working (Item Translations, Ryuker Proxy, etc.) at least for a while.
I didn't notice till after they gave us the new anticheat but gameguard was a serious performance restricter for me. None of the issues people were making up about it but still reason enough for me to be happy about the switch.
i swapped day one, fully expected to complain about it non stop. Aaaaand then i forgot about it, because it never gave me any issues whatsoever. Also, i use a vpn to stay on my home network from remote locations, and that also didn't give me any issues, using wireguard.
It’s silly but my only thing is trying to get reshade or gshade to work. A lot of the methods and stuff I’ve heard about uses the sub folder which I am assuming will poof once gameguard is gone. As far as the anti cheat I have been told it’s a tailored and customized version. Not the doom posty one
all i got is a steam deck, switching to wellbia didn't work for a good while but it recently started working, though sadly no magic performance bump :( but at least it will still load when this drops.
though i would probably just drop steamos and finally install windows if it didn't
I was super skeptical, but the new anti-cheat hasn't caused me any problems. Have had it installed shortly after it was an option. Not 100% sure, but I think GameGuard was giving me longer loader times?
As long as they do not use bait and switch tactics, i.e., they raise the invasiveness after everyone adopt the new anti cheat, it should be okay for most players, if not everyone.
I swapped to test the performance, and at very least for me, new anticheat performed better than GG.
With GG, my base pso2 would not launch at all, the game would froze when switching to base pso2, and the issue got resolved after switching over.
But yeah, GG is very very bad, and it is really hard to be worse than GG.
I'm usually not one for change, especially when it's a change from something I never had issues with. GameGuard never gave me any problems and I've always been affraid that Wellbia might be different, especially since I use a VPN. But I'm gonna have to try it anyway.
I already noticed that having the VPN on stops the game from launching entirely, so that's already a bad start. Putting in some .exe files as exceptions seems to have resolved the problem, so I can at least log in for now and everything seems to be working right now. But I'm really hoping that Wellbia isn't gonna do anything to me in the long run. I really don't want to lose all the progress I've had on the game and it would suck if something like a change in anti-cheat is gonna force me to quit
Yeah I agree. If something old but works, and we have something new, people tend to be concern about what if the new stuff would not work. If they will deliver Wellbia as is during this transition phase, it would be okay for majority of players. What my concern is, what if they tune it down to make it very passive, make the transition, then tune it up to a point so that it would cause false positives. Hopefully this would not be the case.

I've been playing for quite a bit on deck with the new anticheat without issues, as long as you're using proton GE you should be good.
i guess time to use Linux xD
despite its proven save, knowing what that anti cheat do in windows kind of creepy, despite im on microsoft windows wich already creepy enough tbh
