Two beautiful talented men! We boomers were more blessed than we knew. Bobby Hatfield always gives us a surprise moment. He never disappoints. RIP Robert Lee Hatfield 1940-2003. You are missed.
They came on the scene when I was in high school, two incredible, different voices, singing with soul and in perfect harmony...the music world hit the jackpot with these two "righteous bros"...
Sometimes when Bobby and Bill harmonize they sound like a whole dang choir. This song is from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel. It has been recorded by many including Frank Sinatra, Elvis and Judy Garland. Many people know of it from the 1963 Gerry and the Pacemakers hit. For many years Jerry Lewis would end his annual MDA Telethon singing it.
I fell in love with these guys came out in 1964. I love al of their songs. I was 15 yrs old and could hardly wait to buy their album. I still have that vinyl record album. ❤
AMEN! We NEVER walk alone as long as we keep Him in our hearts. Those two were a God given talent to this world, no one ever was or ever will be so great. The world needs this kind of music in this crazy world. His Birthday is coming, lets all make it a point be kinder then ever to each other. Red, Yellow, Black and White, all are precious in His sight.
March of 2015 we left our house to see my Dr. about a little "heartburn", 25 min. later a nurse took my blood pressure in both arms and told me "you need to get to the ER, you are fixing to have a huge heart attack, 14 min. later a cardiologist did an EKG and said "It's pretty much normal, I don't see anything to worry about". 15 min. later in the cath lab the nurse cussed and ran out of the room and the Dr. said "as soon as we can get the surgeon here we are going to crack your chest open". Exactly 4 hours after leaving the house the 6 1/2 hours of surgery and the 5 bypasses started. Surgeon told my wife for almost a year and half I was only getting 15% of the blood my heart needed, BUT: no heart attack and no damage at all. Dr said the LORD really loves him. When the nurse told me to get to the ER it did not scare me and by the time I was sitting down for the EKG I told HIM if it was my time and his will I was ready. A wave of absolute PEACE engulfed me and the Voice that told me to go the Dr. told me "everything will be okay and my wife would be fine". I always thought the 23rd Psalm would be in my head, but it was the refrain from "In The Garden" "HE walks with me and HE talks with me and HE tells me I am his own". As the words from this song say "You will never walk alone" as long as you have HIM in your heart. AMEN!! PS I'm 75.
I love watching you younger folks go crazy for the Righteous Brothers. We did back in the 1960s and it is so exciting to see people enjoy their music today.
They Righteously nailed it!!! Since you are a man of faith.. You probably know this one, because it was sung by many singers, but I'm requesting a his one "I can only Imagine" sung by Michael Finley. Ithink it's the best one! May the Lord bless you too!😘🌹
Soooo soooo beautiful!! I live through the The Righteous era.. they will always live in our hearts match made in heaven!!! I’m 70 and and have songs of theirs on my playlist!!
These videos are becoming part of my daily routine, love the work your doing Devin. These classics need to be shared and kept alive for years and years. Brings back good memories to so many people in these dark days. Keep em popping.
Bobby singing "if I ruled the world", he never neglects a note in whatever he sings. If I had to choose just one singer to listen to forever, Bobby would be it. When I get to RocknRollHeaven, just going to sit a his feet for eternity and listen. Also, I hear they got a helluvva band up there already.
Another gospel song from RB is ‘He’ They started in hard rock… ‘Little Latin Lupe Lu’ written by Bill, was their first hit, along with ‘My Babe’ written by Bill and Bobby. They had some wicked blues tracks ‘I just wanna make love to you’, and plenty of ballads like ‘Just once in my life’. Bobby lets rip with ‘Summertime’ and ‘Stay with me Baby’ and Bill is soulful with ‘Brown eyed Woman’ and ‘I’m no Angel’. Many great songs to chose from…
I love to watch the reaction of the younger people find some of the best music from the 50's, 60's and 70's! May I ask you to do Let It Be Me! With Jerry Butler and Betty Everett! Have your wife with you when you do it. It is the 2 of them singing a love song to each other! I would like to see both of you hear it for the first time together! I will send you a link
(Stinkin' blocks! 😡) It was sooooo long before I could hear this song without crying!! Jerry Lewis used to sing it at the end of every MDA Labor Day Weekend Telethon he had and I'd cry every single time!! 🥺
LET IT BE ME! Jerry Butler and Betty Everett! I think one of the best love song! Do this with both of you together! I want to see both of your reactions together!
Bill and Bobby are smoother than grandma's nanner puddin! there's two other versions you should check out. Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge and Elvis Presley.
Sounds like you have them mixed up! Bobby Hatfield is the higher voiced blond counter tenor. Bill is the tall dark haired bass baritone. They were the greatest duo of all time!
Deven- you should listen to Frankie Laines I Believe. It’s good, although after listening to the Righteous Brothers, it’s hard fir anyone to compare but is maybe worth a listen in.
