This has a tinge of David Brent. The phone call midway through where he is calling his wife is probably the best 15 seconds of TV I've seen in the 36 years of me being on this earth
Are these two still together? He's got an expensive, obsessive hobby and she is TOTALLY not on board. They'd be better off moving here and settling in Oklahoma or Florida (depending upon which storms he prefers to chase.) At least then he'd be within just a few hours of home most of the time.
Having been born and raised (and still residing) along the Gulf Coast, (USA) I have been through more hurricanes and tropical storms than I care to recall. I genuinely hope I never have to witness the utter and complete devastation of another Cat 5 storm for as long as I live. All the dead bodies and absolute obliteration of entire towns, not to mention the fact that it's been nearly 12 years since Katrina blasted through and there are STILL people living in FEMA trailers and such, unable to afford the steep price of rebuilding their lives from rubble and ash... well, those things make the chasing of storms for shits and giggles seem rather... naïve? Careless? Short-sighted? I don't know... But anyway, I do love to see grown-ass people geeking-out over something they love doing. I know I have found my tribe, lol. The Über-dorks. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

His wife is the hero. I guess she dumped him already.
