Nice to see I'm not the only one playing older gear. I did buy new wedges like 2 years ago, because mine were the original spin milled vokeys. They are on the banned list now. I have Mizuno JPX919 irons. A Titleist 818 H2 hybrid, Titleist TS3 3 wood, Titleist TSi3 Driver. I did swap out an old Scotty Cameron Teryllium for a Taylormade Spider. That's the only club I was fit for. I love it. Outside of the wedges everything else bought second hand. The 3 wood was listed wrong. The previous owner didn't know what they had. It was barely used and I got it for like $125. The driver I built from components. I bought the shaft as a new one that was pulled. Tensei 1K Black 65 S. I paid $75 for that shaft brand new. It was from a TSR driver that someone wanted an exotic shaft. The right kind of shopper if you know what you want and what you're looking for. You can score top notch equipment for not a lot of cash. Just so happens I played Gold Mountain back in the day when I was in the Navy in like 2000 or 2001. Tough track from what I remember. I think there was more than 1 course there too if memory serves me well. Maybe 3? I don't know.
@@industrialpalletworx3548 That is a solid bag as well as some insane deals you found! Yea gold mountain has 2 courses, the Olympic course and the cascade course. Both are super fun tracks!
How would you think if you were to upgrade your clubs? Playing with the same irons over a long period of time, has that changed the way you're thinking about other, newer, equipment? Have you become more picky or doesn't it matter as much? E.g. would you rather go for something that are similar to your Callaway's or would you go for something all new/different?
@@pawnhubchess6723 love this question! I think I will definitely go for something similar to my irons. Not necessarily sticking to callaway but just a thin players iron like mine. I’ve hit the Ricky Fowler cobra blades and they actually surprised me with how good they felt. As you can see from my bag I have a variety of brands in there, I’m open to playing anything. If I like it I’ll play it.
@@MasonRohlederGolf I was fitted for the F grind in my SW. I thought it was weird not to get a grind to open it up more, but it’s been great. I still hit full shots with my SW and still great for chips around the green
This really goes to show that you don’t need the newest gear to play well My whole bag is used except for the putter I’ve had 2.5 years. Just got fitted for irons then found them used on global golf $150 off for $735. Cobra king tour 2023, barely used. Good stuff man
@@BigGrazP71 I think the only difference would be the fresh grooves, and you could experiment with different degrees of bounce as you move to new wedges.
There's absolutely nothing different between sm10s and sm8s besides the new grooves that you get with new wedges. I've played sm6s, sm8s, and I bought the sm10s recently. I play quite a bit and hit balls at a grass range frequently, so I replace all 3 of my wedges every two years. You're not missing out on any kind of revolutionary design. Vokeys have been the same for the last 20 years.
a refreshing what's in the bag, i like to see people with older clubs too. just wondering if you had any tips for buying used irons. i currently have titleist 714ap2 in a regular shaft, but now based on my swing speed i should be playing stiff. other than that i dont know anything else or what to look for when getting irons
@@chonger thanks for the support! I would look into callaway preowned website, that’s where I got my irons 5 years ago. Another solid place is OfferUp or Facebook marketplace. The preowned route is the most underrated. Clubs are kind of like cars they depreciate pretty quickly. You can get some really solid irons from 2-3 years ago for half of what they were brand new. I’d say go that route and just look for iron sets that have stiff shafts in them. Most people are pretty good at listing their clubs with all the specific details like the brand, weight, and stiffness of the shaft
You would think a pro with irons and wedges that old would have way better club wear. Should see a mark in the middle of the face. Just an observation. That 60 looks like a 24 handicap has used it since 2019. 😂
A 60 degree wedge won’t have a singular wear spot. With bunker shots and opening the club face you will over time wear out the entire face of the club. Besides, you shouldn’t be hitting full shots with a 60 degree to cause a sweet spot wear point🤷♂️
I don't think you realize how good golfers use their wedges. Especially 56° and 60° wedges. They should have signs of use throughout the entire face from chipping, pitching, and bunker shots.
Someone help this guy out and get him some wedges!
Seeing a bag like this is refreshing. Guys who aren't sponsored play what works. Not what they are trying to sell.

Glad to hear you got your irons from Callaway Preowned! Fantastic website, in the UK and the US
Play the same drive and shaft, but the 75g. Favorite combo ever. Also has the same in my 3 wood. Best stock shaft.
I agree, the shaft is money 👌
F Grind is to be played more squared. They have it in wedges you might play more full shots with but still can open it up if need be
Oh interesting, I learned something new! Would make since for a gap wedge since 90% of the time is it used on full shots from the fairway

Man, some company needs to sign you!
Those white grips are very heavy. Will drop swing weight. 2g in the head = 10g in grip

Try the 04.L vokey. Great off tight lies when you open the face but the actual bounce at square is forgiving for softer lies.
