Omg I would be so happy to have a guy like this help me find a guitar. He seems like he doesn't care how much you spend, just that you get the right guitar for you. Knows everything about everything.
Dude, your videos are solid. Not just this exceptional video, but everyone I've seen. The Guitar world needs more people like you. Your expertise and passion are an inspiration. Thank you for all you do.
I installed Phil Rudd’s broadband fibre in NZ when I lived there, awesome experience, played drums when I was installing and showed me a few of his cars and memorabilia on his walls, crazy guy but unforgettable experience 🤘🏻
I'm so glad he straightened himself up, and got back with the band to record their latest album. I never thought we'd ever hear the band ever again, let alone with Brian, Cliff and Phil all coming back. That's the only shining light of 2020.
Nice to hear Angus & Malcolm got you playing guitar, they had the same effect on me having seen them at the cow shed Stafford Bingley Hall back in early November 79 with Def Leppard in support
i can "sound" like ac/dc with a lp style, fender style strat and an ltd with emgs..... just set your amp up. i got a boss katana mk2-50. ive had 3 sg's 2 were nice gibsons, just having a sg aint gonna do it. amp, tone, and playing man. bet u could do it with what u got now. gl check out thomann.com/ harley benton guitars. great guitars for the price, im impressed
Why they sounded so great was because of the two different guitars. Angus took care of the higher end, or the "dust on top", as Angus puts it. Malcolm, however, took care of the low end. Nothing like the deeper growl from his Gretsch, from that old style Filter'Tron pickup. Which is funny, because those pickups are best known for the famous "twang" tone in 50's and 60's country and R&B. It reminds me of the scene from Back To The Future, when Marty played Johnny Be Good, and the guitarist looked at the guitar afterwards, trying to figure out how that sound came out of it..... Lol. The SG and Gretsch together just made awesome music.
Malcolm Youngs Gretsch Jet Firebird was given to him by Harry Vanda from the Easy Beats. That guitar has great Aussie Rock n Roll history behind it. Top video too! Love the way you get that sound from cheaper alternatives...Rock on dude!!
Great vid! With the wireless off it sounds like the early Bon Scott days(still great) but with it on it has the Back in black tone and then on we're accustomed to hearing today.
I love this channel it's got the best gear guides on UA-cam including this AC/DC gear guide and I love the Angus Young early 2000's signature Gibson SG which is a copy of a 1969 Gibson SG I love that guitar I'm definitely gonna get an Angus Young early 2000's signature Gibson SG, a 2013 Angus Young thunderstruck Gibson SG, a 2010 Angus Young signature Gibson custom shop SG, plenty of 1969 Gibson SGs, 3 marshall plexis, 6 marshall super leads, 9 blackstar cabinets, the Schaffer replica tower unit, a wireless guitar system, fender extra heavy guitar picks, and a kikusui 4000m power supply (it's not pronounced kukutsu or kikutsu) and that's my full Angus Young Guitar Rig. Edit: I'm sorry if I said too much it's because I'm one of Angus Young's biggest fans
Not even close to RB in the accent though. Speaking about Phil X, I hear some similarities with him in this video's tone. Might be because Phil X's main guitar is an SG.
When I hook up Epiphone sg to amp should it be on clean channel on my Marshall and then I hook tube screamer. Should I always keep amp on clean and hen I use pedals
Yes! Thanks for this and I hope you do some more. Like, nobody can do "Sound Like Alex Leifson" cheap and expensive. (Well, one guy tried but I don't think he has ever listened to him, lol).
What is the effect that is used on the intro of 'Are you ready'? Almost like a chorus or double/triple tracking of the guitar. Sounds like nothing else.
Hello Dagan , from Michigan USA 🇺🇸 great vid man , but I wish you would have hooked the epi up the Marshall and the Shaffer Replica , I'd really like to see more on epis and Marshall Amps like the DSL40C an CR . Thanks for your vids Mister Awsome work Brother.
I think Dagan should do a video on the Gretsch G5222 from the new Gretsch line up with the natural finish, basically a cheaper version of Malcolm’s Gretsch
when i hook my inexpensive marshal to SG should i use clean channel to overdrive pedal or should i always use crunch on amp to overdrive pedal to get basic Angus sound
sound came across just fine on my computer, & I didn`t need fancy earphones to hear it (even though I have some-Klipsch- one day someone`s gonna have to tell me how to pronounce that)! thanks Dagan!
Dagan I love your playing and tone, Can you tell me how to get Frank Zappa's sound on Watermelon in Easter Hay from Joe's Garage Act's 1 2 and 3 and what gear I need to get, Thanks
If anyone wants the true secret to the Angus tone its a 1959 or 2203 Marshall (depending on what era you are going for) with a Schaffer Vega pedal/unit, a cab with some greenbacks will do and lastly, a damn good attenuator (I have an Aracom Pro2-DAG). The Attenuator is really what gets you there. I have a YJM100 and a 20W JCM800 and while they are good on their own with the EPA able to bring the YJM down to bedroom levels and the Master helping to get the JCM800 down to bedroom levels, there is nothing like gunning them and using the attenuator to bring it down to bedroom levels. The JCM800 sounds TOTALLY different when you've got the master cranked up. Seriously, its night and day. The YJM gets a lot more agressive and dirty with the attenuator. The Power tubes don't really get ran hard enough with the built in EPA. Seriously lads, get a good attenuator. Most amps will highly benefit from one. The Aracom is the best I've tried, but the Rivera Rock Crusher is decent too in my experience. Both will get a 100W amp down to bedroom levels, especially if you are going through a 2x12. The Aracom will hold onto the tone better when its all the way down. The Rivera will get a bit thin right at the very bottom. Although turning it up a bit will bring the tone back to being full without much of an overall volume boost. But if you need it as quiet as possible, the Aracom is worth the money. If nothing else, an attenuator is a good tool to have in your arsenal of gear.
Thanks for this great video 😎 but I think that Malcolm used much lower gain on his Marshall and instead, had some very hard attack on the strings. I'm no expert here, I play the Angus part, but I think that Solo Dallas also mentioned that
Hi Dagan, great video I have just bought a Gretsch G6131-My Malcolm Young Signature jet and just purchased the marshall jcm 800 lead series studio amp, can you please advise the number for each setting for the closest Malcolm sound without the foot pedal . Thanks Geoff
Great video! I love the sound of AC/DC and many other rock made with Plexi or JTM45. Yes you can try to copy the sound in different budget ways. I have a 1969 Laney sound 60, very loud and has a huge low end. Below a 4x12 Cel.Greenbacks. If I plug in just a simple Marshall JH-1 pedal (plus got some more stuff of course, reverb, delay, extra boost if neccessary) it gives a very cool sound, really enough to control with the guitar's volume. This set delivers all tones you need to rock & blues. I highly recommend the JH-1 with a simple tube amp, it is worth the money.
What did he say about the Marshall origin 5 on the budget Malcom? Did he say that the 20 couldn’t handle the pedals or the 5 couldn’t? He also said he had some other pedals on the floor I think? Would be great if someone helped me out
Hello Dagan idk if you’ll see this but more the likely you won’t. But anyways, I’m 13 and new to guitar I can like see what the notes are but can’t get my fingers to stretch far enough to play the notes right. I also am inspired by AC/DC. If you or anyone else could help me find a way to be able to get my fingers to stretch far enough to play then thank you who helps.
Great video My friend!! I play with a Gibson SG standard, Marshall origin 20,xotix sl(mode super bass),tc electronic mini spark ,and sound really good.
Dagan is the kind of guy you always hope you will find behind the counter
But never do, brilliant video. How close to the strings are the bridge and neck pickups on the expensive Gibson, I want to set my epi sg to that?
So Rocks, if anything the cheap Angus setup rocked more than the expensive one,but maybe it's just Dagan was warmed up, more Hi Vattage please😃Legend!
Omg I would be so happy to have a guy like this help me find a guitar. He seems like he doesn't care how much you spend, just that you get the right guitar for you. Knows everything about everything.
I think Dagan is everyone's favorite guitar expert.
Parker Kenney I don’t rly rate Rabea, he’s too gear-heady and 1d
Nah, I’ve met too many people like Dagan in real life. They’re all unanimously knobs.
After watching this I feel like playing AC/DC riffs all day! Great video! 🎶
i like ola
Danish Pete is up there aswell... but I do agree Dagan does always make me want to pick up my guitar
Saw AC/DC with Bon Scott in the late 70's opening for Journey. Angus and Bon put on one hell of a show!
After 33 minutes sat watching this with a big stupid grin, my face hurts. Absolutely top class!
Thank you! 🙌🤘
I own the Malcolm Young signature Gretsch and I can say it is a pure rock machine. If you like to play Malcolms riffs, this is it.
Your love for ACDC is palpable, my favorite band of all time
I'm with you on that 🤘🤘🤘
Dude, your videos are solid.
Tauranga? Did he tell you some cool stories?
I'm so glad he straightened himself up, and got back with the band to record their latest album. I never thought we'd ever hear the band ever again, let alone with Brian, Cliff and Phil all coming back. That's the only shining light of 2020.
I live in new zealand but a few years ago when I went to tauranga, I could have sworn I saw Phil Rudd.
Great to see you Dagan mate!!!
Love your enthusiasm Dagan, I grew up on the "If you want Blood" album
Your true admiration and respect for the men and their music is undeniable! Best video yet! Props sir.
Nice to hear Angus & Malcolm got you playing guitar, they had the same effect on me having seen them at the cow shed Stafford Bingley Hall back in early November 79 with Def Leppard in support
Rest in Peace Malcolm. We lost a legend. One like one pray for Malcolm
Once I get a Gibson SG, i'll totally sound like Angus!
i can "sound" like ac/dc with a lp style, fender style strat and an ltd with emgs..... just set your amp up. i got a boss katana mk2-50. ive had 3 sg's 2 were nice gibsons, just having a sg aint gonna do it. amp, tone, and playing man. bet u could do it with what u got now. gl check out thomann.com/ harley benton guitars. great guitars for the price, im impressed
Said every guitarist ever, as they lied to themselves.
It's good to have dreams son and I'm sure you can do it. Lots of hard work will do it but why sound like Angus ? Work on your own sound.
@@JB-ju4ev nice, I also have the Katana 50! May I ask you what settings you use on the Katana for these sounds? I would very much appreciate it...
If you stand in front of the mirror and say "highway to hell" 3 times you will turn into angus
Malcoms tone on the high voltage album is perfection
Dagan I could listen to you doing Angus and Malcolm Justice all day. That's the sound I want to hear that's the sound I want to make 🤘
I would love sit down with you and talk AC/DC. I love Malcolm Young.
🤘🤘
I said the same thing when I seen Angus. I want to be that guy. Been playing guitar ever since.
the perfect acdc gear/sound/setting video! already a classic :)
Another great way to get angus’s and malcolm’s tone is by putting the bass at 5, the mid at 5, and the treble at 8
Why they sounded so great was because of the two different guitars. Angus took care of the higher end, or the "dust on top", as Angus puts it. Malcolm, however, took care of the low end. Loving the passion and the playing. Great video my friend.

Great video. I love AC/DC as well as. You have too much distortion though, they play much cleaner.
Great vid! With the wireless off it sounds like the early Bon Scott days(still great) but with it on it has the Back in black tone and then on we're accustomed to hearing today.

Absolutely loved this video, thanks Dagan. Would be great to see something similar with black sabbath or Brian may.
Great demo
It had me scrambling to find my Compressor, ep3 boost and mxr 10 band eq..
I dug out my 80’s Marshall 75 and there it was...
i love that your feelin it in this video.....makes me wanna blast my guitar again....so i will! great vid....
Is it Russell Brand? No! Is it Phil X? No! It's Dagan!
Yeah but I wouldn't be surprised if dagan was Russells little brother or something
Not even close to RB in the accent though.
Speaking about Phil X, I hear some similarities with him in this video's tone. Might be because Phil X's main guitar is an SG.
Great rock'n roll video man! SG's and Marshall's all day long oh yehh
Oh I have been waiting for this! Thanks Dagan!
I want the rat rod all for its own goodness. Sounding like Malcolm would just be a bonus.
Best Rig Rundown on UA-cam. Cheers! Rock n Roll!
God I love that Riff Raff riff!
Thank you Dagan great video. Really enjoy your excitement and knowledge you bring to these videos.
This is a great video. I had my gain up to 6 or 7. Tuned the gain down to 4 or 5 and, it sounds so much better. Thank you
I recently picked up the Seymour Duncan Dirty Deeds Distortion! Its the first Mosfet pedal that ive played/own and i was pleasantly surprised!
Without busting the b... No ... This was waaaaay better 👍
Yes because there are amps other than a katana!
That Thunderstruck lick is quite challenging. Very precision piece.
Dagan is awesome Rock' n roll guitar player...
He plays my favourite guitar being the angus custom, cool guy and awesome player
When I hook up Epiphone sg to amp should it be on clean channel on my Marshall and then I hook tube screamer. Should I always keep amp on clean and hen I use pedals
Would love to have a Slash from different eras GNR, Velvet Revolver and solo stuff as well
that epiphone sure is perty!! it sparkles and breathes fire
Another great video by Dagan, how about doing one about how to sound like Megadeath.

That was gold!!!!! Thank you Dagan!
Do Jimmy page please!!!!
Goddamn, Dagan is the man! Coolest dude on youtube by miles
I think Dagan should do a video on the Gretsch G5222 from the new Gretsch line up with the natural finish, basically a cheaper version of Malcolm’s Gretsch
I'm on such a serious low budget, I'm saving for a G5222. Cant wait to hit the "buy now" button
I dont even live in the UK but I'm subscribed for Dagan. Any stores in California? I'm looking for a nice first pedal :)
Most passionate demo player in the world for sure...beast player 80s killer🤘🤪🎸
Dagan is amazing
U should do GNR and Black Sabbath
I thought it sounded more like AC/DC with the boost off (10:50)
Dagan is fantastic!!!!!
please do van halen next!!
Great. You could save by using the level on the ge-7 and skip the micro amp.
when i hook my inexpensive marshal to SG should i use clean channel to overdrive pedal or should i always use crunch on amp to overdrive pedal to get basic Angus sound
Great video. Lots of info, lots of fun. Cheers
Hi Dagan, awesome video,Please would do KISS one on Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley.Thank you.
I’ve got a Gretsch Malcom Young and a Marshall Bluesbreaker tone job done, EXCEPT great tone but the playing is not there yet😀
sound came across just fine on my computer, & I didn`t need fancy earphones to hear it (even though I have some-Klipsch- one day someone`s gonna have to tell me how to pronounce that)! thanks Dagan!
Love the huge pupils 🤟😎
Wasn't the Bridge pup wired only to the volume pot? i.e. No tone control wired.
love the info and channel, anyone ever tell ya you look like a very young Russel Brand?
Dagan I love your playing and tone, Can you tell me how to get Frank Zappa's sound on Watermelon in Easter Hay from Joe's Garage Act's 1 2 and 3 and what gear I need to get, Thanks
Riff Raff by Bare Knuckle, or the Seymour Duncan High Voltage pickups?

Thx dude.
Awesome job I think you nailed it
Pre-2020... 30 min video, maybe if it's great. Post-2020, Cool! a nice long 30 min. video distraction. Thanks for the content guys.
Thanks for this great video 😎 but I think that Malcolm used much lower gain on his Marshall and instead, had some very hard attack on the strings. I'm no expert here, I play the Angus part, but I think that Solo Dallas also mentioned that
I admire you Dagan from PMTVUK
Wouldn't the studio classic have been a better choice? The 800 is too gainy for ACDC/Angus tone.
Or turn it down a little
Totally agree
I think you mean studio vintage
@@thomashaigh6098 yep, that's the one.
how did you get the white sg in the background to not have a trem arm? Im searching high and low!!!
Hi Dagan, great video I have just bought a Gretsch G6131-My Malcolm Young Signature jet and just purchased the marshall jcm 800 lead series studio amp, can you please advise the number for each setting for the closest Malcolm sound without the foot pedal . Thanks Geoff
Am looking at getting the Origin 20 Combo - hopfully that will give me a good AC/DC tone at a mid range price!
Great video! I love the sound of AC/DC and many other rock made with Plexi or JTM45. Yes you can try to copy the sound in different budget ways. Killer intro!
Dagan playing is 🔥
22:35 I’ve been thinking of doing that but I don’t want to risk ruining my guitar by drilling into it so I might take it to the shop
What did he say about the Marshall origin 5 on the budget Malcom? Did he say that the 20 couldn’t handle the pedals or the 5 couldn’t? He also said he had some other pedals on the floor I think? Would be great if someone helped me out
How to get a similar sound out of a Harley Benton ST-20 with an amplifier HB-10G?
Awesome video man 👌
Hello Dagan idk if you’ll see this but more the likely you won’t. But anyways, I’m 13 and new to guitar I can like see what the notes are but can’t get my fingers to stretch far enough to play the notes right. I also am inspired by AC/DC. If you or anyone else could help me find a way to be able to get my fingers to stretch far enough to play then thank you who helps.
can you do the same video with slash please
Great video My friend!! I play with a Gibson SG standard, Marshall origin 20,xotix sl(mode super bass),tc electronic mini spark ,and sound really good.
loved that post agan!
The difference in sound with or without the schafer replica is like a that of a dry fake smile and a big sexy grin with a wicked wink of an eye 😄
Dagan should play Lemmy in the upcoming biopic! Screw Russell Brand, this guy rocks and could totally pull of the look.
used to watch andertons alot but now im all in on PMTUK
On his right is that 3 pick up gold white sg a gibson original or reissue? I can't find any that look like this other than the originals.
It’s a Gibson custom shop ‘61 reissue 👌
I would like to know if angus plays only with bridge pickup (like malcolm) or if he uses neck pickup too.
Very rare that he uses the neck pick-up
@@ramonhazelbag9888 thanks you
Great video SG is a must have axe
Angus always said that that Malcolm could play all of his leads parts, but he could never play Malcolm’s rhythm parts.
This video helped me a lot dagan
Can you do slash next?
