- Come on a virtual ride-along with Sarasota Police Officer Tim Bales of the Traffic Unit! Bales was recognized as our 2022 Officer of the Year. As a member of the Traffic Unit, he has proven to be a valuable asset to our agency and community when working on complex traffic crash investigations and conducting traffic operations that ensure the safety of all citizens. In this video, you'll learn what a Day in the Life of Officer Bales may look like, although no day on the road is the same!
Lots of departments are now showing these day in the life things. This 1 was interesting because of the added info on the calibrating laser, and the paperwork.
We need more of these!
Respect to Officer Tim Bales! Seems like a cool guy, would love to see more of this!
Thank you for your services Be save

Great video! Part 2 please!
Good job!!! U be careful out there!!
Excellent video but I would appreciate if you could show the moments when he gets them for speeding
That's a great bass line.
Finally a cop with the correct tool to break a window. Banging on it with a baton does not work
Keep more videos coming
dam! blew a .235 that is beyond drunk!
INTERESTING 😊
People drive way too fast everywhere not just Florida!
Seems to make more sense to test the laser at the beginning of the shift, not the end . What if it fails the test? He'll void all the tickets he wrote that day ?
Why are people not getting written up for Criminal Speeding?
I have been given two tickets and two warnings. I still speed. The warning didn't do shit
Neither did the tickets evidently
This guy wrote me two tickets immediately following me denying a car search.. somone had road rage so they call 911 told them i was drunk.. this guy follows me for 2 miles and says i went over the white line 3 times..whoaa!! the entire enciunter he repeatedly asked me what medications ive taken and have i been drinking etc... gives me roadside test which i pass. This guy literally asked me what year was it on my 10th birthday... im like you got to be kidding me cus at this point im irritated cus im getting late for work... after all his tests and trying to get in my car without having to ask permission he relizes i am not intoxicated and flat out asks to search my car i said id prefer not.. he says very rudly its a yes or no question.. so i said ok then no... he says ok ill be right back... 2 tickets later.... cops are ALWAYS nicer when the cameras are rolling.. LOL dont let this video fool you. my experience with this gentleman was far from professional.. can tell his emotions are worn on his sleave and effect his duties and how much youll be getting in tickets.. i dont have anything against cops but itss crazy that someones emotions that day can dictate how much they steal from your wallet..
Its amazing how much better cops behave when they know they are being recorded
not stealing if you dont do anything wrong. Crossing the line once is enough to kill someone or cause serious injury just an fyi.
I don't know whether or not you actually crossed the white line, but when pulled over, you're not obligated to answer questions or consent to searches or sobriety tests. They can search only if they see something illegal. Just provide your driver's license, insurance, and registration. And stop talking. Then, if the tickets seem bogus, dispute it in court.
Ya ok
Sheesh I ain’t kno tahoes was pushin like that lol
the newer ones that they have now that u see around are even faster i heard,in my state i see mostly the troopers using them
Just don't pull me over I'm barred
LOL
would love to see cops writing more tickets, than warnings. People don't learn their lessons with warnings...
And you think they do with tickets? After several billion speeding tickets have been issued with no change in compliance. I'd like to see more focus on finding stolen cars, missing kids, people breaking in houses, etc.
You say that until the day you get a ticket
I'd love to see you get the tickets all of them
@@Patrickstarrrrr69 Exactly. We see an 85% support for expressway speed limits but only 15% compliance. Also known as rules for thee, not for me.
They should be more focused on people like the drunk passed out so bad even the cop smashing his window didn't wake him up. How does writing a seat belt ticket help anyone except the state collecting the fine?
Why have you been in policing for so long but have no rank, and are still on a beat?
I can’t speak for him specifically, but many cops don’t have a desire for the increase in responsibilities that come with supervisor positions despite the increase in pay. They are happy where they are on patrol and stay there throughout their career.
To be fair a traffic unit is a specialized unit. It’s different from normal patrol.
Maybe he likes his life the way it is. 😂😂😅😅
Some police just like where they are
He's old and probably retired in another field before becoming a beat patrol officer, gets him pay, good benefits past retirement, and something to keep his mind from becoming schizo or senile.
He's acting. This is not how 99% of cops act on a real stop. This is just false propaganda for us in the know.
