Thank you Malcolm, I have procrastinated, partly because of our cold climate . I need air circulation in my studio but now that our days are milder I can’t seem to pick up that brush. I have been sketching and have ideas but simply feel there’s a wall holding me back. Anyways, listening to you was like listening to a good friend. Thanks for the nudge I needed to unleash my creativity again.

You can do it! Keep it simple like adding color to those sketches with watercolor washes, for example.

What a great topic! I can only add that restarting painting helped me heal from a chronic depression. I had a lot of self-dout going back to painting...but, Tony Robbins mindset teaching and your amazing Artist's Channel helped a lot! Thank you Malcolm❤️❤️❤️

I always knew one day when I was “free” from bringing up a family, whilst working and all the madness that brings, I would paint when I “retired” and that’s what I’m doing now! One is never too old to start and it keeps me motivated, it’s given me a different sense of purpose and meaning to my -what seems now that I’m oldish, - very short lives. It keeps my mind alert and my body fit each day when I take walks to explore and see the world around me with an artist’s eye, finding inspiration all the time, discovering a creative me. It helps to have a Mentor and a great creative like Malcolm to encourage and inspire and teach. The fun is in the creating! Thank you Malcolm😘

I noted with interest the health claims made - that engaging in artistic painting (1) reduces various avenues of mobidity, (2) contributes to improved/sustained mental health, and (3) promotes successful aging among older adults. I would be interested in learning more about the evidence supporting these health claims. Regardless, I intend to continue painting just because I enjoy it!

I have been painting for more than a year now...i have become religious with artwork...i paint everyday. The challenge i am facing is i feel the paintings are bit tight and wish to loosen up. I do take detours of relax brush work and mind, but still i have got my hand on blending and am taking time to come out of it.

Painting every day is excellent. You will get looser over time. Remember to use a big brush and lots of paint 😊

I think the most difficult thing for me when it comes to making Art is being alone. I can’t seem to find anybody in this town to work with and to share progress or get suggestions.

Yes that is a common issue. How about getting the ball rolling and calling for a local get together of Like minded artists. start a group. There may be a few experienced artists hiding away.
