That's the whole point. They just don't wanna boost anything. They just wanna exist, that whenever the name Thar is uttered, the name GURKHA gets its due. Sometimes it's just fun to be celebrated as a niche and exist as a pain in the ass against your competitors.
Thar can be also use as daily driving ... *But Gurkha is perfect in off-road *It also bigg form the outside *It has better road presence than thar .. *It is more comfortable for 4 people But if u are city + off-road user Thar is definitely better thing
Better Road Presence? It Looks like Mini Version of Toofan. If they change rear and front look it will atleast look Good. Gurkha is only better for off-roading.
Force's service network is a reason to worry. Both if these vehicles are amazing in their own way.. We had Thar 1st Generation and its still working like a charm. Hopefully Force will launch a next gen which will eliminate these small flaws. And for MotorOctane ...we just can't keep calm unless new vids are posted...keep it up ❤️❤️
Taimur, I've read on Team BHP that Force is coming out with a new version of the 3 door Gurkha that will feature a fix for the low ground clearance. I just wish this is true. Currently, I know owners who have done one of these two things to improve ground clearance - switching to larger tires or retrofitting a lift-kit. I am waiting for the improved version of the Gurkha. Maybe it will have other refinements and fixes too. I wish Force was vocal about the fixes they are coming up with. Prospect customers need to know what is going on, so they can make informed decisions.
Even i have mentioned in my comment about DCV... these guys are like kids comparing toys in front of him....i am actually refraining from watching reviews by so many alleged car experts growing on youtube....

Everything has pros and cons. Here Thar has a bit good look from front and centre console. But after A pillar Thar looks ugli. Rear seats are tool like and no option for luggages on roof. But Gurkha has better rear seats and more practical for touring purpose as it has got functional luggage carrier. Most differentiating comparison is that both are good off roader with proper 4x4 gear nobs . But Gurkha has manual differential locking nobs for rear and front wheels which seems to be more superior in off roading..
I would get a Thar because: 1. It has more power and torque 2. Since I live in Delhi NCR, it has Petrol so I can hold it for 15 years 3. Interior is a lot more symmetrical 4. Automatic available

The Thar is most practical car of this two cars but Ghurkha looks like a beast.... I know that thar is also good when it is modified but the ghurkha is stock when we see a ghurkha at a highway we will look at it. but thar is probably seen in every road but these two are beasts.....🔥
Gurkha is more practical aur jo new upgrade gurkha aane waali thi aur solid aayegi ,saath hi gurkha mei space bahut hai thar ke compression mei. Sabse plus gurkha mei registered accessories hai jaise roof carrier, snorkel, rear ladder, front grab handle ,manual diff lock saath hi rear tow hook ye sab rto approved hai aur insurance mei include hai jo ki thar mei nahi milta . One more plus point gurkha mei DEF (urea) ka bhi need nahi hai.
The gurkha has locking differentials, front and rear, (which is why it costs as much as it does despite lacking features) which i believe he failed to mention. This means that whenever you need to perform absolute offroading like rock crawling or really muddy puddles, the gurkha will absolutely dominate the thar which is important but anyone looking for that level of offroading performance should know this already. My point is that the value proposition of the gurkha shouldnt be judged based on the interior quality and features but its offroad capability which is miles beyond anything on the indian market really including the thar, fortuner or the D-max
Why you think others features should not be considered. One buys the whole car and not just locking differential. Is it indeed a advantage over thar but there are 10s of other feature where thar takes the lead.
@@indrajeetdixit139 see the gurkha is not your regular car, its main purpose is to be a utilitarian vehicle which can go anywhere, its entire value lies in this fact. Unlike thar which is meant to be a good overall vehicle, so naturally, a lot of its value is going to be in comfort features. So to offer the gurkha at that pricepoint, regular features have to be cut out in order to leave enough budget for the offroad utilities whereas in the thar, the budget is mainly allocated to everyday convenience rather than offroad utilities
Tata should re launch Safari storme as STORME with narrower body, shorter length, and 5 seater (may include small jump seats like bolero neo) also shorter front hood. Length should be decreased to 4meter Or 4.1 meter with 4wd , can be a luxurious off road vehicle with comfort level for city ride

I think everyone is missing the point that, if you load Gurkha with Luggage at the boot, the access to 2nd row seats are blocked. Noticed? A person who buys it will struggle for sure.

I got a Gurkha (I just wanted a 4x4 for camp, my hometown is in Uttarakhand) and I got some aftermarket techs and modifications done ( I got my suspension up, bigger tyres, an extra battery, advance screen, cluster, a roofcarrier, some small tweaks, floodlights and a small fold seat ) and let me tell you the only complaint that I have would be the price point, not even the engine power. The car is powerfull, it just isn't a beast in speed or acceleration. A great reliable beast is all I can say. I even got an own safari card for the car while my friend's jeep, fortuner was rejected☠️
Also to say I've had no problem with cold start till now, I've been to Naini this December and the coldest weather I experienced was -18 degree and the car had no problem at all in starting 👍🏻

Thar is a more balanced vehicle than the Gurkha. Gurkha is just a car made for Jungle Safaris with zero focus on ergonomics. Gurkha is a lost opportunity, they could have created a brilliant car but they just couldnt for the lack of expertise. Hope the future iterations will see major changes.
Gurkha is pure rugged off roading vehicle unlike thar. It may not give u much features but vehicle is way more reliable. No need to trust me... Just take thar & Gurkha side by side to ladakh where temperature drops way below 0°C. Gurkha will pick up self in just 1 try as cold start at -20°C while thar needs 30-45 minutes of heating to get cold start. In such environment condition... Does a vehicle's features gonna save u? Not at all... It's reliability will save u.

After seeing your review I can say if Gurkha is an animal then Thar is a beast but if Thar 700 comes in this competition then that's monster. Thar ka sabse bada problem bohot jhulta hai aur central console has too much bugs (which may be solved after any upgradation by Mahindra, let's hope for the best).
I love motoroctane videos. But the only complaint i have is the backseat camera guy. The videos are oftentimes shaky, as well as i want to see how the car as well as the roads look like. Eg - After 20:00 of this video you can see those things clearly. It's a bit absurd IMO. But not to be too negative. It's always fun to watch the videos from Rachit as well. 🔥

Like some others have mentioned, watch DCV Expeditions UA-cam channel. Dinesh has done a review. He owns both Thar and Gurkha. Has driven both to ladakh, on highways, river beds, slush, unpaved roads etc. Only thing missing is snow, which he'll do in the coming winter.

Fallacies- 1) spelling- Originally it is GORKHA not Gurkha. 2) 4×4×4 is a vague term. 4×4 with MMLD ( Mannual mechanical diff lock) is much more better, matcho, and serious term. 3) design of front lower arm. How is it possible, who previously developed TRAX 290 GTD and Xtreme recent past? 4) Discontinuation of front live rigid heavy duty suspension and RCB ( Recirculating ball type steering), result two major accident clearly pointing for locking of steering. A) manevanjan, district- Darjeeling, B) accident of Uttarakhand in recent past. 5) Last but not least, ground clearance. Trax kargo king offers a ground clearance of 239 mm whereas the iconic off road king of same company offering only 205mm.

Low ground clearance is the biggest negative of Gurkha which Dinesh Chaudry (DCV Expeditions) nicely explained because he own's both these vehicles.

Has driven both to ladakh, on highways, river beds, slush, unpaved roads etc. Only thing missing is snow, which he'll do in the coming winter.

Fallacies-
1) spelling- Originally it is GORKHA not Gurkha.
2) 4×4×4 is a vague term. 4×4 with MMLD ( Mannual mechanical diff lock) is much more better, matcho, and serious term.
3) design of front lower arm. How is it possible, who previously developed TRAX 290 GTD and Xtreme recent past?
4) Discontinuation of front live rigid heavy duty suspension and RCB ( Recirculating ball type steering), result two major accident clearly pointing for locking of steering. A) manevanjan, district- Darjeeling, B) accident of Uttarakhand in recent past.
5) Last but not least, ground clearance. Trax kargo king offers a ground clearance of 239 mm whereas the iconic off road king of same company offering only 205mm.
