I built a new cabinet for my Frontman 25 to accommodate a 12" CanibusRex speaker. Its my giging amp when I am not using my Princeton 65. Light weight, sounds great and loud!
Sounds great through that 15" EV speaker. The Fender 25R is a great little amp except for the stock speaker. I made a cab for mine out of a put a pair of 10" Super Champ XD speakers and an old Marshal combo box and it made all the difference in the world.
I have quite a few different amps, transistor and tube, but I really love the 25R. It has the best clean sound of any of my amps. I actually cut the top off and made a standalone head out of it. I even like the distortion sound, though I added some different clipping diode options. Best amp for the money you can buy I think. And the clean channel is great with effects too. My only complaint and it is minor is the typical Fender pots- they go full on too quickly. Most volume and reverb you get from 1-4.
sounds really great, really wonderful! I have a 25 frotman forgotten, because the sound is very treble, when listen to your speaker 15, is a another amplifier!, you think i, can i use the amplifier,in the 2x10 eartcandy? greetings from mexico!
I'm sorry but I don't really like how the Riot sounds through the Frontman. - Have you tested the Riot through the effects loop? - Using the same cab, what do you think about putting the Riot on a solid state amp like the Fender and the tube amp on your side like the Marshall on its clean channel (or maybe in low gain)?
Turns out this is about Riot not Fender :) but ok. It really depends on what sound you're looking for, maybe I should also record some overdrive pedal like TS, but riot sounds amazing if you're going for metallica or megadeth sound. But I've played lots of Clapton using fulltone full drive, tube screamer, EP booster, and what is interesting is that with good speaker you can get all those great sounds like top Fender amps.Comparing it with marshall jmp or jcm 800 or even music man it can stand head to head(i have all those amps at home), the advantage with fender is that you can turn it down and the feel under fingers when you play is great like on tube amps, actually this is the only solid state amp that gave me that feeling and i've played a lots of them and didn't like any. I should say that this EV speaker was around 300 euros, the cab under Marshall is 1960 AV 4xV30s, since both fender and V30s has scooped mids that is not good combination.
Alfred Quinn sounds better live, so mic is only making sound worse. I don't know about speakers, V30 sound bad so probably some speaker with more mids. This is small amp so bigger speaker bigger sound, with this one i have, never turn volume more then 2.5 on gigs. It's loud for club
Celestron Ten 30 (8 Ohms) or the Celestion VT-Junior 10" 50-Watt (8 ohms + Alinco). $40 or $60. Anything better is too expensive for this amp. But both these will yield a big improvement and recover some of the mids lost in the stock speaker and tone stack. while you can still dial in a Fender clean.
I have the AKG 420 as well and have been trying to find a good sweet spot on recording electric guitar through a similar amp. What settings do you use on the mic? I usually go with cardioid pattern and bass cut filter. Do you use the preattenuation pad?
just like that, cardioid pattern with bass cut and -20db, but it doesn't have to be -20 db if you low level on the preamp(i'd say that preattenuation pad change the sound a little bit, but it wasn't important to me that much for this video), i was thinking to record this with sm57 but akg passed more realistic sound. This is all for close mic possition
i have the 15r bought for 50.00 bucks i have bigger amps but like lil amps too love my orange micro tiny terror whats stock speaker and what you upgrade to? was wondering if it would make that much of a difference i will say dist mode on 15 r sucks 25 can give you more umph:)any suggs on speaker change??? be apreciated
This is some electro voice 15" speaker, i tried v30,this marshall cab next to it, but it's not god, too chrispy, sparkly,so try maybe some fender type speaker, try hooking it on some other cabs or amps and see if you like some, distortion is more then ok but still need more balls

Thank You-For your input-Great sounding for the money I have had some and used them on stages
Sounds AWESOME when you step on the Suhr Riot !

I am about to do this, my frontman has an 8 ohm external speaker output. What are you running it into?
Sounds great! How much of that is the mic? I have a Frontman 25r and am looking to update the speaker. Do you have any speaker suggestions? Watts?

I put an Eminence 10 inch Ramrod 75 watt in my Frontman and Now It's Amazing and Very LOUD.

Do you know the model of the speaker you installed?? it sounds great!
No, I have to open the box to see, it's some 300 W speaker i got when i bought that marshall on the right

Hi buddy, hey what tune are you playing at 4.06 please ?, that's a cool riff
should be like crossroads by clapton
did you have to adapt the amp to run it through a different cab?
No, speaker cables straight to the amp
dzohusafetw but you have to disconnect the cables from the frontmans speaker and install a new output to the other speaker right?
Alvaro Ignacio Sandino Granera Yes that's right, i just connected wires without connector, just stick speaker cables to frontmans
