- Officials released a timeline Monday as a Philadelphia police officer continues to fight for his life after being shot in the line of duty over the weekend.
The officer, who is from the 25th district, has been in the ICU since Saturday night. His identity has not yet been released at the request of the family, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said during a press conference.
Ramon Rodriguez Vazquez, 36, has since been arrested and charged following the shooting, a massive manhunt and barricade situation. He is being held on a $12.5 million bail.
Sources tell Action News this is not the first time Vazquez has fired at police. Criminal records show in 2011 Vazquez fired on officers in Puerto Rico after an alleged carjacking.

Only when 90+ percent of crime we see on the news is committed by Puerto Ricans. We're not seeing that like some other demographics so I think you're safe. It's not like everyone doesn't have bad actors that commit crimes, it's the disproportionate representation by some that is being pointed out. It's just that everyone is tribal and don't like it when others recognize the trends if it reflects badly on their own group. And don't give me the excuses. During the great depression you didn't have this sort of rampant crime. And that's when almost everyone was poor.
