They have chopped down the wood that is directly behind tiny turners nursery and up the hill ....i was there few weeks ago with the dogs....its like a nuke has went off....apparantly the army are putting something there .....seems like they can just chop ancient woodland down when they see fit 😫...absolutely devestating seeing the place like that and is never going to look the same again.....poor deer and other animals must have been scared stiff
The tees Valley wildlife Trust is "managing" the area. It is removing many of the trees in an attempt to return it to the traditional deciduous trees which benefit wildlife, also managing the ground around it to prevent the spread of fires. It looks terrible though doesn't it, looks like a world war 2 battlefield.
