- I've got to give the underrated cobra powered cars some love too! I've already made a few videos discussing different types of cars, so I figured it was time to give the 4V Cobra carriers some attention also! I will do one for cars that use the corvette engine a while from now. I want to make some other fun videos until then! If you're looking for a great cheap and fast Cobra powered cars, then this video is exactly what you're looking for!

Mr Random Reviews my 1997 lincoln continental has the 4.6 liter 32 vlave intech v8 that the cobra came with. In the mustang it's 0-60
In 3.8 seconds and in a continental it can still 0-60 in under 5. 1997 lincolns go for $400 locally from private sellers.
Hey man Sorry so many people are butt hurt. I get the point of the video. My father has a 96 Continental I hope to inherit some day.
I got a black Lincoln aviator and it hauls @ss
Thank you for clarifying that the “Cobra” motor is actually the Mark VIII Intech 4 cam.
yep, the mark had the very first version in '93, cobra didnt get it til '96... i currently
have a '96 Mark8, amazing car
@@misterwin2393 I miss both of my MK VIII’s I had two 95’s first white with grey interior and the second a Black on Black LSC both would flat haul a$$ 🍻

I own a silver 04 marauder and I can tell you, you are definitely correct. I love this car, and would never sell it!

Thank you sir. 👍
i love yall
Not true, only 03 and 04 cobra had forged internals, just because it a ford 4v doesn't mean anything. take a look at the spec sheet.
RCP the cams were a lot different as well as compression.
true, not the same engine at all, that's why I said look at the spec sheet.
Yeah, you're kind of Dumb so ill help you, go to--- mustangspecs.com--- search 03-04 cobra. even a tool like yourself can read the motor spec easily.
people make such a huge deal about forged internals - sometimes it only matters over a rediculous power level - like 450-500hp - I have run stupid ammounts of power for years on the street with cast internals - with ZERO failure
If you put more then 10psi on a stock motor you are on BORROWED time, its not just about forged internals, motors with forged internals are built with (proper compression) for boost application. You have NOT made (stupid) power with Boost or NOS on a stock Motor for years with ZERO failure, BULL SHIT.
Own a Supercharged Marauder and a Mach 1. Bags of fun! 4Vs are great platforms. Had a Mark VIII LSC slip thru my fingers. Still think about it. Blood Red, Cobra 5 spokes, subtle cowl hood, and a procharger. These cars are cool too because if you pony up a lil extra cash for a low-mile ride they're usually adult driven and pampered.
Same here, I paid a lot of money for a mint 24k mile black Mach 1 a couple years ago. Procharged. Ran a little too much power and bent one of those toothpick rods they used in those engines. Replaced the short block with a built Terminator short block and upped the boost. Now in the 600 HP area. It's a fun fucking car, and people stare at it wherever I go.
Non of these cars have "Terminator" motors in them. They are all just 4 valve 4.6s. Big differences between them.
the marauder do sir
They do not. The motor in that car is basically a Mach 1 engine. You could say it's a slightly detuned 99,01 Cobra motor. But is not a Terminator.
Tom E Mine has an 04 Terminator long block in it! LOLZ! 😎
But you are correct sir! No Marauder came from the factory with a Terminator motor.
Tom E what is the terminator engine I dont think u know
The terminator engine was a DOHC 4.6. It had a iron block, revised heads and cams. Lower compression from earlier DOHC 4.6s including the Mach 1 / Mercury marauder which are the engines everyone is referring to when they bring up " this car has a terminator motor". Ohh yeah the car also had a intercooled blower on it. The cars ppl say have a terminator motor actually have something closer to a cobra motor. There are some other things changed in the terminator motor but I listed the majors. What else do you need to know to realize there are differences and that motor is not in any other cars other than the 03-04 mustang cobras?
I had a Mark VIII and Lincoln's continental, they were actually pretty quick...fast enough to get in trouble with
Just something to note, it's pretty easy to find an earlier 4v Cobra (96-01) for under 10k. 99-04 Mustang in general have depreciated super hard lately so now's a really good time to buy one. 03/04 Mach 1's can also be found for under 10k but most of the nicer ones with low miles do still go a bit over 10k. Also just wanna point out that the Marauder doesn't have a terminator engine, it doesn't have the supercharger or the same rotating assembly. Good video though, the 4v is a really fun engine.
Granny Shifting Everything 15-20 years old that cost 30K or less new is cheap as dirt. Mustangs just as much as others because of so freaking many of them. Everything is fast now compared to that time frame except everything that rolls off the VW line. My 03GT in 2011 with 78K miles barely blue booked at 8 grand. That car depreciated to nothing after 5 years
I paid $10,500 in 2005 for a mint condition low mileage 97 cobra from a dealer.
Granny Shifting false
Jarret Justice, what part of my comment is false?
D Chan
They're talking about getting THE WHOLE CAR for that price.
Oh, that's right, your into Mother Motors....
Never mind.
One correction here! The Lincoln continental was available with the "cobra" engine until 2002! Too bad that engine is not compatible with RWD Fords since the block was configurated to meet a front wheel drive transmission.
Also, the terminator term applies only for 03 and 04 cobra because supercharged, so they did not put terminators on marauders.
That and Ford limited the total horsepower of the Continental engine to 275 hp. The AX4N trans in the Conti couldn’t take much hp to begin with.
Heads are still interchangeable correct?
Sorry brother...
The Cobra 4 valve only came in the Cobra.
The 4.6 liter 4 valves in the Lincolns Are Not Cobra Engines.
The 4.6 4 valve did come in the Lincolns first - but the heads, cams, valve springs, crank, rods, pistons etc. are NOT the same.
All 4v non supercharged 4.6s use the same cast piston floating powder metal rods and autos got cast cranks(other than navigator and aviator), manuals were forged. Aviators, Marauder's, machs, and early c head cobras all share the same heads and cams down to part #s. Only difference is cams in the mark 8, and intake manifolds from vehicle to vehicle. Obviously the earlier Lincoln b heads differ from later b head cobras but the 97-98 mark got the spring upgrade to beehives so the are on par.
I'm possibly going to buy a 2002 mustang GT does that have the Cobra engine in it? I know it has the 4.6 liter V8.
Jerry Hanson Pretty sure it’s a 2v 4.6l, not a 4v.
Thank you for posting my Marauder in your video sir! 😎 👍
I fucked up😣 I had the chance to buy a Lincoln Mark 8 for 700 bucks and all that was wrong with it was a cracked windshield
You didn’t deserve it
Yeah big mistake there bud
@@fabriziozetino why do u say that😂
You did 😓
Bruh same !! The one I was gonna get needed a tune up
Still love my 02 continental. Rides like a dream and will still leave somebody with the whole family in the car...
None of these had forged internals, piston/rods/crank were all upgraded in the 03-4 cobra. Important because while you could supercharge the cars listed, the internals may not survive. One difference though, the 90s Lincoln's actually had a better and lighter Teksid block than the strong but heavy iron Cobra.
Marauder had some forged internals
Chuckles intakes are not the same either
They did have forged cranks
Interestingly enough, I have seen some dyno testing that has shown that the factory Gen One Mark VIII intake manifold flows slightly better than the “tumble style” second gen intake that replaced it. Sure, the IMRC tech that existed at the time sucked pretty bad, but with an IMRC delete, the factory Mark VIII intake actually gets the job done nearly as well as any Cobra intake will. 🤷♂️
Umm. You can put better internals than the cobra though. It's still the same engine. 32v 4.6L
Nice work man. I love the sound of all these motors!
Actually the First 4.6L DOHC 32V Modular V8 came in the Lincoln Mark 8 back in 1993.
It was also an aluminum block, and strong as hell. Fairly common to use that block in big power cobra builds.
Yep, the good ol' Teksid blocks. Great starting point for a budget 4.6L Force Induction build.
No shit sherlock
@@JSAFIXIT You can also bump the displacement up to 5.0 Liters (302 Cubic inches).
Lincoln Continental was an entirely different platform than the Mark VIII. FWD four door, vs RWD two door.
This is one of my favorite vids man
The '95 to '98 Continental actually is pretty much a stretched, upscale Taurus with a 4.6l 4v Modular up front, while the SHO of that generation had a more performance-oriented Yamaha-sourced V8 in its engine bay.
95 the sho was a v6
The 1999 sho has a 3.4 v8 that thing is something else
Honestly I have owned a Mark VIII for close to 10 years. I refuse to sell this car because of how much my father and I have fallen in love with it. It was pushed on him as the ONLY car he could afford to finance. But we grew to love the car and even did some minor modifications to her.
Of course, the '03-'04 Cobra is in a class by itself :)
Great vids keep up the good work
son your are telling people false info
Binky Bop for real 😂
Mr.Random Videos someone from Canada did a restomod on a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis. It uses a frame off of an 07 Crown Vic with upgraded brakes and suspension, 03 Marauder wheels and carpeting as well as gadges, 96 Mercury Grand Marquis dash that has been painted black, S197 Mustang seats, and a 5.4L DOHC 32V V8 out of a Lincoln Navigator with 03 Cobra cylinder heads, 96-98 Cobra camshafts, an Aussie Boss 290 intake manifold and a mercury Marauder airbox along with long tube headers and free flowing dual exhaust which combine that gives this car 341 HP and 351 Ibs of torque at the rear wheels and it sounds like a beast. The engine he swaped in before was a supercharged 4.6L SOHC 2V V8 making 390 HP and 386 Ibs of torque.
does it have them whitewall tars on it too, what kind of radio do it have
Mark 8 such a sweet ride
Dont forget about all those spark plug blowouts in the 3V & 4V engines!!!
Joseph Bentley ..was rare and attributed to radical design shorty spark plugs. Not on 4.6 V8 just some 5.4 V8s.
The 4.6s didnt have this issue.
Your spouting shit
Actually lots of the 4.6 2v engines had the spark plug ejection problems. The 3 v did not. It had a spark plug coming apart during replacement problem
Recently I purchased 03 04 marauder heads complete and an 03 Aviator 4.6 aluminum short block all for under 1k although the shortblock includes no crank guide rods or pistons. Still the parts are in great conditions especially the short block in my case. I plan on swapping them into a 2000 Mustang V6 build. Very budget friendly so far and it'll basically end up being an 03 04 mach 1 by the time I'm done with it. The V6 is my first car and I dont wanna get rid of it so its a good upgrade over the 3.8l and 100 something hp numbers haha
So if I put a super charge on my Lincoln Mark 8 what do I have to change And what’s a good super charge for it
I got my Mark VIII for $1200 in great shape, with only 82K miles. Just needed a Cam position sensor and front suspension components. Awesome ride!
Dig the list..Fam..and the song at the end.. nice touch..😆😅😂
You sir have earn a subscriber 👍
But can u make power with these engines because I was thinking of taking one of these engines and replacing the 2v in my mustang gt is it worth it
Loved the mkviii. Was ahead of its time. It should still be in production along with the ls. The continental was different though. That was a front wheel drive platform although they should've just stretched the mark to make it.
I believe it was on a modified Ford Taurus fwd chassis from a couple gens before. Conti could of got the 3.8 V6 too.
You can get them in Australia too for less than $10 000. I have a 2004 Ford Falcon XR8. It has a modified 5.4 litre Modular 4 valve V8. Here, the motor is referred to as a Boss 290.
Awesome. Is 290 its output in kW?
Yes. I think that converts to about 375 hp. We went metric measurements in 1974. The Falcon is a large car by Australian standards, but the Boss is crammed in the engine bay. The bonnet (hood) has a bulge in it to clear the top of the motor. It's a lot of car and engine for the money.
Interesting video. A normal power flex fuel 4.6 becomes a rocket ship on around 25% E85. It's amazing !
The Mach1 had 4 valve too but I don't think they put Zolner forged pistons and Manley H beam rods in any other car but the Terminator.
I have a 99 Continental. Any suggestions on what type of bolt on mods? I read somewhere when it was new, it made 270 hp. I'd like to bump it up into the 300's. Oh yeah it has the console shifter. I don't know if that makes any difference.
Got the same one just put some exhaust and headers on it flowmaster duos 10s
We had a 1991 ford bronco with a 5.6L v8 and that thing was beast, granted the 1978-1979 bronco had a 6.6L, I loved my 91 bronco! then my parents sold it and got a 1997 Ford Explorer, which I thought was lame to do so at the time but little did I know that ONLY the 1996-2001 explorers had the optional Ford 5.0 302 engine in them! Same like the boss mustang! Ok I gained respect for that explorer! Lol
Thanks for the video! I love my Lincoln Continentals. I just drove my 2001 down to the Florida Keys. Was able to pack everything in the trunk. Drove in luxury. Average 25 miles to the gallon!
I hate it when people don't know what they are talking about see the termi cobra he showed at the beginning was a supercharged 4v 4.6 and had a different top end than the cars on this list the only thing that is the same between the termi and these cars are just the blocks
So technically they do have the same heart but don't expect all the power that the cobra has
thank you exactly right.. this vid is stupid
the title was actually correct (96-98 and 99-01 cobras) - but dropping terminator in there was misleading
The displacement and engine design is the same, the blocks are actually different. Terminators used cast-iron blocks to withstand the high hp and torque from the addition of the Eaton supercharger, while all other DOHC 4.6L being naturally aspirated, used aluminum blocks.
FYI, the older aluminum 4.6L DOHC used blocks built by Teksid for Ford, same manufacturer who built Ferrari their engine blocks. In the latter years, Ford used their own blocks, built in-house. Teksid blocks are believed to be just as strong as the Terminator's iron blocks, while weighing considerably less.
so you are saying alum blocks are for cheaper and lower hp engines, boy you need to let all those engineers that build race engine know that , i bet they would appreciate all the knowledge housed in this one little comment section for this video. what a waste of possible billions of dollars of technology and testing when all they had to do was ask you bunch of genius's.
YEa and this particular one has a Whipple Supperfreakin Charger under the Hood!
Awesome....My next car will be a 1996 to 1998 LSC...Ive owned Lincolns and I love this car and you can find one prestine with low miles for around 7k and you get the luxury ride with it. My father had the 1998 Continental. Gorgeous car but Front wheel drive in the drawback....Great show and Thank You
The 03 cobra motor had factory forged internals, these motors had the teksid and wap blocks which were good along with a forged crank, but the internals were no better than the 99-04 mustang gt internals. Unfortunately you're gonna have to build these if you wanna make more than 500 hp safely
wrong
Correct. The N/A 4 valves had cast rods and I want to say the the ones equipped with automatics (Mark VIIs, automatic Mach 1's, had cast steel crankshafts. The Terminator had forged rods and a forged crank. The terminator block was iron and the other 4 valves had aluminum blocks, both blocks were exceptionally strong.
MrShorty48 ..very wrong.
It’s also a cool thing that the 96-01 Ford Explorers have a 5.0l HO engine in it 👍
Reviving this to add one piece of knowledge I just learned from a friend with a Ford dealership. There IS one vehicle now under $10k that came with a true 5.4, 4v, forged bottom end, Intech engine, and that is the 2004 Navigator. In fact, only the 2004 in that body style came with the 4v, the year after they switched back over to the 3v. Interesting tidbit I never knew but was shocked to learn.
good luck finding a 03 marauder in good shape for ten grand. i would love to have one.
Come by mine for 6000.

That is the reason I just bought a 2005 Aviator. It moves out very impressively for a heavy SUV. The AWD is a bonus for Canadian winters.
I just bought a 2000 continental with 100k. Absolutely amazed how good it runs! The last Ford I had that ran this good was my 63 galaxie with a 405 hp 427. Gave 2500 for this thing. Garage kept it’s whole life, one owner, excellently maintained with all service records with the car.
Ive owned a aviator navigator and continental the avi and the coni had the 4v 4.6 and they both moved loved the mid range would get up to about 40 mph and the torque would roll in fealt so good
Which model years have the spark plugs that get stuck and break off in the head when you try to remove them?
none...thats on the 5.4L
My buddy had a 97 Lincoln Continental it would fly
I'd rather have a mint condition- triple black- 98" Lincon LSC any day of the week over a Cobra or any of those cars....Those last 2 years of the Lincons (with the larger lights) were gorgeous, especially if done up tastefully...probably Lincons best looking car, next to the early 60's Continentals
I agree with you 100%...those Cobra Mustangs are a dime a dozen...I have an all stock 1998 Black on Black LSC with every single option available. It only has 19k on her...best investment I could have made.
I died when u sang that song at the end of the video
The Lincoln Conti had a detuned 4V with a FWD bellhousing incompatible with RWD transmissions without adapters. Also the supercharged DOHC in the 03 -04 was an iron block.
Good luck swapping any of these motors into anything other than what they came in without detailed engine wiring schematic, harness, and the correct computer.
I have bought, and flipped about 20 fox body stangs, but I knew about these, and I'm on the lookout for my first Marauder. I dig it, ppl say its a grandpa car, well, belt in and hold on!!!!!!
I'm 17 I found one of these on kijiji bought it for 2250 canadian dollars with only 115,000 kilometers (72,000 miles) had the thing fully inspected only needed a lower ball joint. The thing is mint it's my second car I cant wait to make memories in it.
My boss owns a Marauder. It does 335 BHP. He's modified the stock modular V8.
None of these vehicles had the terminator motor. Aviator/Marauder had the Mach 1 4V motor.
That marauder at the end tho! 😍 the whine from that supercharger! 💦💧I'll still take a p71 or p7b and supercharge that tho!
vipersyl. I used to have a 2003 Marauder and I loved it at first. But after a while that car gave me more issues then a female. 😂
Jose Vasquez that's what I hear...which is why I'll always take a p71 or p7b over a marauder!
Too bad they didn't come supercharged as a factory option!
Where did you buy the badge for your grill from?
As you can see from my avatar, I own a 2004 Marauder, one of the last ones to come out of the St Thomas factory in Canada. I've highly modified it to obtain the best possible suspension and braking you can get. But I have to correct the record here. Quicksilver's (that's her name) engine is not a "Cobra Engine". The Cobra had a blower on top of it from the factory, all these other engines didn't have that blower.
What you should've said is these cars have the same 32 valve, dual overhead cam, all aluminum V8 that the Cobra Engine was based on. If it doesn't have the factory blower on it, it's NOT a Cobra Engine.
Jerry Brown formed a company in 2003, Trilogy, and he made kits to put blowers on Marauders. It cost $5000 and was well engineered: Blower, manifold, larger injectors, fuel pump, all the hardware needed including a reversed alternator pulley clutch because it had to be turned around to fit under the hood. (spinning an alternator in the opposite direction doesn't charge the battery 'backwards'. lol)
I have the record ET for a stock engine: 14.455 @ 96 mph, I did that by taping off the grille. Before that trick it did a consistent 15.0xx seconds, but those Trilogy Marauders were low to mid 12 second cars! If you like Marauders check out MotorCityMarauders. com, a nice fan site where you can find out where to get those upgrades I got as well as the Trilogy, if it's still available.
Mine handles like a roller skate on a rail and will stop on a dime and give you nickel change.
ladamyre1 cobra engines came with out supwrchargers. Aka 99 00 and 01 cobra all svt motors but no added boost. The terminator cobra motor was the same motor for the mach1. 03 04 yeah the beat xobra engine
When he's talking about the power of the Mustang Cobra engine, I'm thinking the 03-04 Terminator Cobra, and I'm sure MOST Mustang fans were too. You're right, there were some Cobra motors that had the same engine I've got, but most Mustang fans were a bit pissed to have Ford put that venerable moniker on Mustangs that didn't even perform as well as the Fox bodies did with 302's.
For myself, I made the right decision buying Quicksilver. I'm 6' 5" tall and would have felt like a Mercury astronaut squeezing into that little Terminator.
ladamyre1 nice, I weekend drive an 03 marauder.
ladamyre1 That's impressive. I ran 14.50@ 98mph at the time in a stock 05' CVPI with nothing more than a bad mailbox tune from BOC full 2.5 exhaust and the factory 3.55 rear gear.
He called them Terminator engines. He even said the SVT guys were sitting around and decided to put a Terminator engine in a "Crown Vic". #1. It's a Mercury Grand Marquis and is more "luxury". #2. It's a fucking Mach 1 engine, not a Termi engine. Mach 1, Marauders, and Aviators were the direct replacement engines guys looked for to swap their 99-04 Mustangs to a Cobra Clone/Mach 1 Clone. #3. The Termi engine is not the same as the Mach 1, Marauder, or Aviator engine. The crank shaft and cams are completely different.
What years do the aviator have the cobra engine ???
The Lincoln Mark VIII was my first car and I got it for $700 but I had to put about $2,000 of work into it so it was a $3,000 car at the end of the day... It had a 4.6 V8 engine in it and That bad boy would get down, the most I did in it was 135mph and it had 140 on the dash, it could have done more if I got it tuned to do so
You have no idea what your talking about ? None of those cars has the 03/04 Cobra engines , the real Cobra engines were all hand built and had all forged internals !! Also the real Cobra engine has a cast iron block not aluminum like all the cars you are showing? About the only thing that these cars share with the Terminator Cobra is the displacement of 4.6 litres ! Other than that nothing else is the same !!
He's talking about the pre-Terminator Cobras, because he wanted a clickbait video. It's retarded, you can buy an ACTUAL Cobra with these engines for less than $10k so there's no point to this at all.
SJC Cobra : Thank you for setting the record straight. I was watching this shit and started to get annoyed with this lobster. Like you, I love them cobras. But you say that real cobras have cast iron blocks? Is that legit? I was about to buy an '03 cobra like a decade ago and I spoke to a cobra "specialist" at my local Ford dealership and he specifically told me about the motor being a handmade aluminum block that needed to be brought to a specific mechanic that is certified to work on the high-performance cobra motor? This guy was legit. He had sold mustang gt's and cobras for years. He actually steered me away from buying the Cobra for that reason... Was he a lying terd-snuggler? Is it not an aluminum block?? -Mark
just82much ..I too am pretty sure the 03/04 Cobras had cast iron block and huge aluminum heads for "max durability" an handle many mods some its owners inevitably add. I own an 04 Cobra myself since new. Amazing hand built by 2 Ford master tech high seniority employees. Ultra strong tremec 6spd manual. They did require a specially SVT trained mechanic at Ford dealers. Some truth to ur salesmans rhetoric except the block part. I'm sure he was just mistaken cause if aluminium block tech was strong enuff for that torque monster back then Ford would've used it. Stock motors can handle up to 800hp approx.
+David Klimmek the blocks in early mark viiis were teksid made in italy and could handle 1000 hp
just82much that guy has no idea what he's talking about so stay away from this so called expert ! The 03/04 Terminator Cobra all came with a cast iron block for strength and a forged rotating assembly!! They were NEVER aluminum in 03/04
What the difference in a 4.6 from a f150 and a 4.6 from a cobra. Or better yet a 4.6 from a regular mustang vs cobra. My friend had a cobra but he had the 2004 the supercharged one. It was the fastest car ive ever rode in. By far. But without the supercharger and other mods it had seems like it woulda been any other 4.6 mustang except with forged internals
The ending tho 😂😂😂😂
Love the outro.
I have a mark XIII.
LOVE MY CAR
Light Yagami it’s viii... not xiii.
Good video, thanks. What is the best year for the Marauder?
I always heard the 04 was a better car over the 03.
The Lincoln Mark VIII was the best performance car of the bunch. Would easily beat a Marauder
Easily....ALL DAY
The 4.6 Thunderbirds were surprisingly quick as well.
Thank you Mr Random for reintroducing me to the Mark VIII because I bought a 98 Mark VIII just recently for 1200 bucks and boy it rips 😂 I dusted a newer RT charger from 60 and up!! The sweet spot is 40 rolls with OD disengaged 🤣 boy he was mad......
question .. what motor did they put in the crown victoria final production year [2011]? for sure it wasn't the cobra motor?
5.0
4.6 2v, I got one sitting in my driveway it's a 2011
Lucas Plank I see... I buying one myself. It is a 2011 with 134 k miles. Might have to go fishing for the composite aluminium drive tube from the 2006 models. You think it will be possible to turbo it?
Prashant Jaiswal , turbo are possible, do a search here on UA-cam for crown Vic, crown Victoria, or p71 turbo and you should come up with plenty of results for some inspiration
car is a rocket.love it
If I'm not mistaken the older Explorer used the 5.0 from the fox cobra/Salem
I used to have a Strait pipe with a Flowmaster 40 Series on my Aviator, Still got some videos
Alright guys so which of the 4 engines would you say is the best one to build? Thank you
So how much horsepower can you make with the 4V 4.6L motor normally aspirated and on boost?
I have my 98 cobra at 323 whp and i don't have all the bolt-ons you can do for a mustang. The vortech system for that generation clams 444 whp on a base car with their tune but i have no personal proof and i imagine it can go higher.
nick conner I've got a 98 with a procharger on it, stock internals and well above 450hp
depends on the who builds it and desired amount to spend
i found a Marauder for $3,200 in Jamestown, Tennessee fyi
With high mileage?
funny thing is, ive found all these vehicles for under 1500 with little to no work to get em goin. i havnt found a marauder yet tho but i still got my eye out for em.
I just bought a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII today lol I am so happy. For $1,500 I couldn't go wrong. All I will have to do is a paint job, replace a window switch and the center console lid.
I own a procharged Mercury Marauder that runs 12.2 in quarter mile
Is a lincoln mark viii a good first car
And the marauder guys cracking up knowing touching a good one under 20k is hard
Where did you get your prices sir, I picked up my 98 continental for 600 in Feb of this year with no issues it's got 238,000 on it but still runs like a champ
Edward Mayer 01 continental very clean 170... 500
Which year had the best 4v heads? 01 cobra heads it has 9 threads instead of 4 for the spark plugs. Teksid block can handle 1500hp. Stock 03 cobra crank will flex at 1400hp. Rods are strong in the terminators but rod bearings and rod bolts are recommended. Weak point on the 03 cobra motors were the pistons and 4 threads on the plugs
No love for the 5.4 navigator motor?
I'm a big Mercury Marauder fan.
STURGOD BLADES & SMITHING Inc. Me too! I bought mine for 10,500 in 2010! No complaints!
ive got its bigger heavier, slower brother. grand marquis
I found a mark VIII for $500.00 with about 170K miles but still ran great
Zachery Whisner wow only 500
Zachery Whisner same but 01 continental
I hear the 03 aviators are the only motor from Ford that got SVT cams Factory and I heard that the03 04 Terminator heads can only be found on The Aviator version
I've seen plenty of warly Mark VIIIs for $500-1000. This was a few years ago, northern vehicles with corrosion or bad air suspension. Teksid blocks though. The one to get is a 5.4 4V Navigator engine...
The Lincoln Continental is a front-wheel-drive vehicle, and the chassis is partly based off of a Taurus/Sable station wagon & Ford Windstar platforms. The drivetrain is completely different than the rear-wheel-drive Mark VIII.
bro...they made the mark viiis back in 93. the mark viii had it before the 96-98 cobras
I had a 95 mark viii featured on youtube page. It was a 1,000 dollar back yard find. I detailed it changed the oil did a full tune up replaced the radiator and tires . It was like a new car. I sold it to a lincoln mark viii enthusiast.
It's a DOHC 32v 4 cam 281 4.6L all aluminum modular v8. Yes the MARK VIII had it first and worked it the best cause the mark viii was invented from the ground up with that all new engine in mind. The engine had better fuel injection than it's competition and an computer micro processor controlled hydraulic suspension that would adjust ride and handling based on the cars speed which was golden when the system was maintained and not left for high mileage fatigue thus system failure.
I wish I could find a marauder here in maryland, would absolutely love to have one
That MARK 8 in the thumb is Sick
I own the black mark viii in the thumbnail. $6,500. Car has had dome suspension work, 4.10's 3k stall, shift kit, cobra hib swap with big brakes, fr500's as well as fr500 steering wheel.
Other miscl stuff too. I absolutely love the car. Went from Louisiana to south carolina to get it. No issues on the 808 miles.
the 03-04 mach 1 had the 4v, just different cams, and same heads as the termi.
We had a Lincoln aviator! (Not the navigator model.
I have a 1997 Lincoln Mark 8 as my daily driver.
