As a former employee at Holiday World, a fun fact about Granny Abigail, is the petting movement of her hand on the fake cat is so repetitive that they have to replace the stuffed cat once a month, so the guests don’t see a bald spot on the already dead looking cat.
I have to wonder if some of the weird stuff in these rides are culturally-relevant jokes lost in translation; like, references to things or sayings and whatnot that are really only used by that language/area.
Those animatronics in Stalen Monsters' queue were HORRIFYING! I must have ridden it a few times in my childhood, and even when they were turned off, they were scary as hell! Otherwise, great ride, and unexpectedly fun! There is also a walkthrough based on early railway use with an audio guide, that also comes in English. Maybe worthwhile covering?
The animatronics in the queue were the only thing i remembered from stalen monsters. (Maybe the line was too long when i visited and i decided to leave?) The grandpa was moving around super jerkily and his hair had kinda come loose from one side of his head, so whenever hed do a large movement with his arm his hair would fly up and to the side only to fall back again. Im not sure if it scared me back then but it definitely left an impression haha
I’m a Myrtle beach local, and I frequently visit family kingdom a lot during the summer. I always get a few rides on pistolero roundup on my visits. I think it’s better maintained than the justice league rides at most six flags parks. All of the guns and targets work fine, sets are polished and clean, and all effects work as intended. Even though it has an admittedly offensive and controversial subject material, I always enjoy a ride on this silly obscure dark ride.
Gobbler getaway and good gravy’s storyline is connected the van snoodle family and thanksgiving area is autumn falls and the van snoodle house is the stuffing springs area which is on the outskirts of autumn falls
I’ve actually been working on a project for over a year about the history of holiday world and I mostly know all the major facts about the park since I’ve been going to the park since I was younger
I'd say if Shakespeare alone is anything to go by, I'm willing to bet that the "Tunnel of Love" in Piccolo Mundo, is supposed to be Verona. I say that because of the play "The Two Gentleman of Verona" and also, Verona is where Romeo & Juliet takes place.
Is it just me, or is Gobbler Getaway's ending the same as Free Birds (The movie where they go back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys OFF the menu!)?
Thank you so much for including my music in the video! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I hope that your year as gone wonderfully! Gonna put some new tunes up on Free Music Archive very soon 😀
We need an adult horror dark ride! There can be show scenes for getting fired, being behind on your mortgage payments, having your car repossessed, getting a DUI and finding out that “friend” your wife told you not to worry about is more than a friend. That would be terrifying! 😨
Merry Christmas!! This video was a nice surprise; after all the festivities, I was definitely ready for something non-holiday related. Sitting down with my feet up and headphones on, ready to have a snack and relax with some dark rides. I hope you're holidays are wonderful ❤.
Being that I'm from the State of South Dakota and have been to Wall Drug on a few different occasions, I would like to suggest a video on just Wall Drug animatronics and attractions. I've noticed that you've covered Gorilla Sam and the back yard T-Rex but haven't mentioned the terrifying coin operated animatronic band (which were the animatronics that simultaneously started my fear and obsession with the creations 😅). On a side note, I was SUPER excited when I saw that you mentioned Evan's Plunge in your last minimalist pool space video, another SD attraction that I've been to. I very rarely ever see my home state mentioned in animatronic/attraction videos so it's nice to see some recognition 😊.
Woah it's so surreal to see one of my favorite rides on here. Holiday World is a local park and I've road that turkey dark ride every time I head there it's super fun! The twist is always one of my favorites that they're having pizza instead. It's very colorful and it's fun as heck! Also can confirm Granny Abigail is uncanny but after coming to the park year after year she's more uncanny in a funny way then an unnerving way. The scene she's set up in is in the line to the actually ride which is inside a building and it's very detailed. If she freaks you out like she did me at first I recommend looking at her scene and pointing out all the things that had to be hand made for the scene.
My daughter actually went on #9 when she did a semester abroad at the University of Belfast (they have a really good Child Psychology program) and thought the Titanic ride was REALLY GOOD!
There's an educational dark ride in Jorvik - (York, England) that I totally wasn't expecting. Some of the animatronics are modeled from actual skeletons (which you can see afterwards) there's different languages being spoken as it would have been in that time, and theres smells pumped in that you won't forget in a hurry
Merry Christmas Theme Park Crazy The idea of combining a dark ride with a more traditional walk-through exhibit sounds really cool, must do wonders for the capacity of the exhibit. Also the workplace accident themed ghost train reminds me of the very famous video Gabelstaplerfahrer Klaus translated roughly as "Forklift operator Klaus" also from Germany which is a deceively more bloody parody of workplace safety videos that desolves into complete chaos as everyone suffers cartoonishly gory workplace accidents. Bottom line is that Germans like their work safety.😅
The last Dark Ride I went on was "The Barrel Ride" at The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh. The ride is essentially a ghost explaining how Whisky is produced whilst you go through various rooms which each have a theme to the production process.
Um not entirely sure this qualifies as a dark ride, but for some reason I think this "experience" is right up your alley. The Ned Kelly Animatronic Experience in Glen Rowan, Victoria, Australia. I actually went there on a school trip, truly unique.
Didnt expect Azura to be on here tbh. I did ride it myself in 2021. I live like an hour from Schwaben Park and from what i remember it was loud, dark and smelled hella much like some sort of Gas
I love coasters but I consider myself a theme park guy first and foremost and I have a preference for dark rides. I've done Gobbler Getaway but the other rides here look like a hoot. I'm especially intrigued by the witch ride and the Mexican bandit ride.
as someone who's worked in factories, that last one gave me anxiety right from the first visual.....i want to go there, just to give my proces-operator heart a heart-attack.
With the Scare-Hotel ride in Finland, I got the chance to ride it but backed out as it looked frightening. Went on the extreme thrill ride instead and wished that I had just chosen the haunted house haha
I have ridden the ones at Holiday World, Family Kingdom (and immediately recognized that it is basically the same as Quick Draw at what I could even call my home park in the US), and the one at Europa Park, but in its previous iteration when it was called "Ciao Bambini". Germany seems to be the place where you stumble across dark rides in the most random places. Years ago, while on vacation in northern Germany, I visited a place dedicated to the risk of storm surges (North Sea cost) - and all of a sudden, there was a dark ride. In my opinion, it would have even qualified as a coaster as it had a little drop in it. Looking it up today, I found out that it has been closed though.😢
I rode quick draw in 2020. My friend and I were laughing so hard at how cheesy it was. The mariachi animatronic was also broken the skirt was stuck lol
Fun fact about Germany, even though its the 7th largest country in Europe, you can fit two of them inside of Texas meaning it would take four germanys to fill Alaska.
With number 10 I have to wonder is it just a strange coincidence that both this ride and Free Birds happen to both feature pizza replacing Turkeys? Or did the makers of the movie get the idea from the ride itself?
Can you do a video on Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino? That place was crazy before the reopening. The roller coaster almost broke my dads and my neck. The log flume ride was a disaster. It was supposed to be a shooting style log ride but everything was broken. I went there as a kid and did not have fun.
I think it's cool how so many people still remember that movie. It didn't make a lot of money at the box office when it first came out. But it's cool that so many people still appreciate it 😁.
I was going to make a reference to that movie but you beat me to it. I have to wonder though it is a coincidence that Free Birds also just happened to feature pizza replacing turkeys as well? Or did the makers of the movie get the idea from the ride itself?
Somehow I totally forgot that @imbored5095 recommended Kyöpelinvuori Hotel. Big thanks to you!
Dude we posted at the same time lol
Seriously? i Already saw Cobblers Getaway alot on youtube channels like Theme Park Worldwide.
Making a dark ride themed to work safety is probably the most German thing I can think of.
As a former employee at Holiday World, a fun fact about Granny Abigail, is the petting movement of her hand on the fake cat is so repetitive that they have to replace the stuffed cat once a month, so the guests don’t see a bald spot on the already dead looking cat.
That ride with the puppets needs more attention that's impressive!
The Titanic Ride has me enthralled - what a neat idea!
Ye it's informative and works well , I enjoyed and recommend it
I have to wonder if some of the weird stuff in these rides are culturally-relevant jokes lost in translation; like, references to things or sayings and whatnot that are really only used by that language/area.
@spindleclown Today I learned workplace safety is pretty much part of German culture. The country is extremely invested in it.
Fun fact: Azura used to be located at Holiday Park, Germany themed to Tabulugas, when that ride got removed it was relocated to Schwaben Park
“Merry other day of the year”😭😭😭😭
Those animatronics in Stalen Monsters' queue were HORRIFYING! I must have ridden it a few times in my childhood, and even when they were turned off, they were scary as hell! Otherwise, great ride, and unexpectedly fun! There is also a walkthrough based on early railway use with an audio guide, that also comes in English. Maybe worthwhile covering?
I dare even say KumbaK should make more dark rides!
I needed this. The marionette puppets are amazing
I’m a Myrtle beach local, and I frequently visit family kingdom a lot during the summer. I always get a few rides on pistolero roundup on my visits. 14:44 - "Shake Hands With Danger - The Ride!"
(If you get it, you get it)😂
Gobbler getaway and good gravy’s storyline is connected the van snoodle family and thanksgiving area is autumn falls and the van snoodle house is the stuffing springs area which is on the outskirts of autumn falls
That is correct! I'm curious to do a whole video on Holiday World in the future. It's an awesome park that deserves more mainstream attention!
I’ve actually been working on a project for over a year about the history of holiday world and I mostly know all the major facts about the park since I’ve been going to the park since I was younger
Gobbler Getaway is very underrated. A must do in my opinion when you visit.
I'm a big fan of Sally Dark Rides, so I'd love to check it out!
YES
@@ThemeParkCrazy You will love Voyage! Which is in my opinion the best coaster in the Midwest!
Merry Christmas!!!! I needed this video😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 call it a Christmas come down😂❤😂😂.
Certainly, especially with the Juliette balcony
Ooh I know about Gobbler Getaway! Glad it got mentioned. I need to get out there one day to see it! Glad it made it in the video!
Is it just me, or is Gobbler Getaway's ending the same as Free Birds (The movie where they go back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys OFF the menu!)?
Gobbler Getaway is a Free Birds sequel.
Thank you so much for including my music in the video! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I hope that your year as gone wonderfully! Gonna put some new tunes up on Free Music Archive very soon 😀
Really cool video guys i was on the Titainc ride in Belfast it's really good Hope yous have a great Christmas ⛄
Thanks! You too!
Your very welcome
3:43 Is that the mf royal family?
Holy crap I can't believe this is actually old enough to have Diana in the back (if you look closely)
@ericdunn8718 omg I see her!
A TPC video for Christmas! It's just what I wanted, yay! Loved it, as always, especially since it's about dark rides
We need an adult horror dark ride! There can be show scenes for getting fired, being behind on your mortgage payments, having your car repossessed, getting a DUI and finding out that “friend” your wife told you not to worry about is more than a friend. That would be terrifying! 😨
I loved this. I would love to see more of these!
Definitely looking forward to more dark ride videos.
BTW, that’s a corpse flower. The scariest thing in that Mexican restaurant ride? The bathrooms.
Good for you saying Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas!! This video was a nice surprise; after all the festivities, I was definitely ready for something non-holiday related. Sitting down with my feet up and headphones on, ready to have a snack and relax with some dark rides. I hope you're holidays are wonderful ❤.
Merry Christmas to you too! Enjoy your holiday!
That german darkride about work safety must be the most german thing I’ve seen!
Thanks for the Christmas, or other day, gift!
Pistolero Round up's clone in Frontier City is often broken and barely anything works. Most of the time the guns do not even trigger the targets.
You’re absolutely correct. I’ve never heard of these dark rides.
I want to see that Italian one in real life. Leaning Tower of Pizza! SIGN ME UP.
Thanks for shoutout!

anyone else creeped out by azura? the scale of the water fountains and claustrophobic sub-aquatic theme is really intimidating
That's an interesting way of looking at it! Plus the surrounding darkness.
Was not expecting Belfast to be mentioned! I’m currently in the area for holidays 😆
Woah it's so surreal to see one of my favorite rides on here. Holiday World is a local park and I've road that turkey dark ride every time I head there it's super fun! Loved this
I love quiz shows and quizzes in general so School, Etnaland sounds REALLY fun to me
My daughter actually went on #9 when she did a semester abroad at the University of Belfast (they have a really good Child Psychology program) and thought the Titanic ride was REALLY GOOD!

"You enter several different dark rooms, each representing a different workplace safety violation", sounds like a regular workplace to me
Gobbler Getaway = “we’re going back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys OFF THE MENU”
Merry Christmas Theme Park Crazy

stalen monster is amazing, i have been on it and the drop was really unexpected. Overall an amazing ride
I just finished my Christmas meal, it was so delicious. Now, this? Amazing! Merry Christmas❤
A dark ride at a train museum...say less. ❤
Merry Christmas, Theme Park Crazy
Merry Christmas my brother.
You too!🎄
Is that the queen of England on the titanic dark ride or am I imagining things?!?! 🤭
Yep. That's a picture of her on the ride! RIP
The last Dark Ride I went on was "The Barrel Ride" at The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh.
The ride is essentially a ghost explaining how Whisky is produced whilst you go through various rooms which each have a theme to the production process.
Geez. I'm gonna have to keep track of all these outstanding dark rides out there. Thanks for the info!
Your videos always stand out from the crowd. Thank you for your unique vision and professionalism!🏺🏮🎽
Thank you, wholesome bot.
Such a wonderful surprise! Thank you! Have a happy Christmas
Thanks for the jump scare nearly list my tablet 😂
You're welcome!
12:15 actually got me

I love coasters but I consider myself a theme park guy first and foremost and I have a preference for dark rides. I've done Gobbler Getaway but the other rides here look like a hoot. I'm especially intrigued by the witch ride and the Mexican bandit ride.
as someone who's worked in factories, that last one gave me anxiety right from the first visual.....i want to go there, just to give my proces-operator heart a heart-attack.
The entire plot of Gobbler Getaway is what happens in Free Birds.
With the Scare-Hotel ride in Finland, I got the chance to ride it but backed out as it looked frightening. Went on the extreme thrill ride instead and wished that I had just chosen the haunted house haha
If theme parks ever make PSAs, make them a dark ride!
I have ridden the ones at Holiday World, Family Kingdom (and immediately recognized that it is basically the same as Quick Draw at what I could even call my home park in the US), and the one at Europa Park, but in its previous iteration when it was called "Ciao Bambini".

I rode quick draw in 2020. My friend and I were laughing so hard at how cheesy it was. The mariachi animatronic was also broken the skirt was stuck lol
The last one would amaze me and terrify me at the same time (Dark water + me= no go)
All workplace safety training should include a dark ride summary
Omfg I've been on 9! It's really cool!
Merry Christmas theme park crazy
Went to holiday world as a kid I died when you showed granny n the turkey ride
thanks to show some dutch rides, please do more, we have many more rides you will like
I’ve been several times tho spoorweg museum and the drop is actually pretty thrilling and scary
Merry Christmas! I love all the effort that goes into making these videos and I always come away learning about something new :3
Geisterbahn would be like if somebody in the United States themed a dark ride around Shake Hands with Danger or something...
...it's interesting...
The workplace safety dark ride is kinda like if Dumb Ways To Die was a dark ride
Fun fact about Germany, even though its the 7th largest country in Europe, you can fit two of them inside of Texas meaning it would take four germanys to fill Alaska.
Got stuck for 20 minutes at the finale part of the gobbler get away…. I will never EVER get that stupid song out of my head.
It’s TURKEY DAY!!
Can we get a list of most missed coasters of the 2010s to present, with King da ka, Anocanda, and others
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too! 🎄
Funny as heck.
New theme park crazy on Christmas Day? Merry Christmas to me!
Merry Christmas!
Nice video!
Staplerfahrer Klaus - The Ride. 14:38
If you know, you know. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Merry Christmas Peter
Can you go to Jordan’s furniture in Reading MA they have a huge animatronic.
Ah, so Germany has their own version of "Shake Hands with Danger"!
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Merry Crazy-mas! ✝️ 🎢
With number 10 I have to wonder is it just a strange coincidence that both this ride and Free Birds happen to both feature pizza replacing Turkeys? Or did the makers of the movie get the idea from the ride itself?
Romeo and Juliet on Piccolo Monde
Failed Coasters Request: Green Lantern at Six Flags Magic Mountain!
Yokai watch profile picture in the video lets gooooo 🎉
funny that i have been on 2 of the first 3 dark rides!
Have you talked about Geister rikscha in Phantasialand yet? Highly recommending
2:00 Looks like they went back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu!

The Finland dark ride is very scary
3:45 was that lady in the green the Queen? lmao
Indeed she is! RIP
