Today I'll be showing you guys how to install and wire up a set of gauges by New Vintage USA. The gauges in this video are Performance II gauges but now there is a DIRECT bolt on kit available in a few different styles(Links Below). In this video I will show you how to wire things up circuit by circuit in order for you to properly retrofit your stock truck. Installation may take about 2 to 3 hours or less if you are familiar with this dash set up already.

I’m glad I found your video. My truck is a 1980 Dodge W150. I’m wondering about the speedometer cable if it can be used or if it would be a better option to use the gps connection. Your thoughts on both of those. Thank you.

Hey buddy, I just saw your comment. There is no option to run the factory speedo cable to these gauges so your only option would be the GPS feature or wire in a speed sensor.

so do you use the complete backing for the factory stuff or snip the plug and wire from that?

You would snip the plug and wire it up wire by wire 👍

What about the voltage limiter on the back of the dash?

The entire assembly gets removed and you only keep the dash bezel

But I have a question on the speedo....do they use the mechanical cable? Or do I need to find some digital sender?

They offer a GPS sender that you can use or if you have a late model rear axle, you can wire it to the speed sensor.
