Buena noche. Bello recorrido por la zona norte, zona centro, zona rio; iniciando en la zona norte y concluyendo en el Boulevard Aguacaliente entre Negrete y Ocampo. Grandes recuerdos de mi añorada Tijuana. Saludos desde León Gto México
I was a quasi-resident of TJ from the 1990s thru 2016 (I also resided in Los Angeles). I knew every nook and cranny of TJ and digested all the information I could find regarding the geo-political-socio-economics of the region. I can't imagine that there are 5 cities in Mexico larger than TJ. This evening my brain is tired and I can only think of 2 that are certainly larger - Mexico City and Guadalajara. Possibly Monterrey? Back around 2000 I read what seemed like extremely reliable information that at THAT time, the actual population of Tijuana was closer to 3 million than the 1.5 million or so that were reported by the Mexican census. What very credibly accounts for the deficiency in the census numbers are the vast number of migrants living in densely populated colonias who don't get counted and other factors regarding the realities of TJ that are going to be invisible or ignored by the national government. So if the actual population was closer to 3 million nearly a generation ago, I can imagine the real numbers today. Also, in my mind, though I haven't checked growing populations of a couple of South American cities, Tijuana is the 2nd largest city on the entire west coast of the Americas - 2nd only to Los Angeles. San Diego will have a larger reported population but not a couple of million residents living in the dark. The city of San Francisco doesn't even have 1 million residents the last time I looked. I'll have to check growth figures for Seattle, Vancouver along with updated South America figures.
