- The Laowa Macro Probe is the craziest lens I've ever used! I cannot wait to produce more ANIMATION for y'all. (The "Anton's Bait Shop" LEGO set was purchased back when it first came out. It is CRAZY EXPENSIVE now. Forgot to mention in the video!)

PLEASE READ (SHOW NOTES):
"Goes to F-50...": OOF! No! Crafsman must be getting slow! Y'all, that 1:1.4/50 means the biggest aperture is f/1.4 and it's a 50mm prime lens. (What I was defaulting to was my explanation for reading aperture on a ZOOM lens... where you have the min/max stated for wide/telephoto, respectively.) PLEASE disregard that. I am cringing so hard right now at that slip-up.
"Anton's Bait Shop": It is expensive. It was expensive when it first came out (I thought) but nowhere NEAR what it is now. Mercy. Sorry for any disappointment to anyone who looked up the set.
"What is that screenwriting software?" That's an old copy of Celtx, from back when it was a desktop program. I believe it's more of an online service dealy now.

My family and I are so grateful that I get to do this.
CrafsMan, we want to see a breakdown on EVERYTHING! Even if a thousand people have already done it, they haven't done it CrafsMan style. Take a break, enjoy life, then break it down.
This is how I feel! I don't care if 1000 videos exist on it, I want it in craftsmans voice and style! That being said I hope he enjoys his vacation and gets some good rest
Well y'all are very kind! :D I sure appreciate this feedback.
Yes, I agree with this. 👍
1up on that
Yesss! So cool to see you getting use out of it. The lego slider shots look awesome and I know you’re only going to get better! Thanks for the shoutout. You’re the man!
The bloopers are the real video! Love it Craftsman, and love the new lens.
So glad you like them! :D I used to not like to put them in because I felt it dragged the video out too much, so feedback like yours is valuable to me. Thanks for watching!
Keep your cortisol levels down?! That's the stress hormone! Don't be stressin', Crafsman! And I can't wait to see your animation featuring Carl Weathers and Mando!
Man, I’ve been wanting one of these for sooooo long! Grats on your purchase!😍
Same! But glad I held off. They're releasing something new soon. They were looking for testers for the new model recently :) Can't wait to see it used on your Hobbit build!
@@TravisNutley Oh SNAP! Whaaaaaaat?! I know that have other crazy lenses, but are they releasing a new macro/probe?
You do crazy work! I just checked out your channel and was FLOORED. I'm bigtime subscribed now, my man! Thank you for watching!
@@TheCrafsMan Yessir, they've mentioned it on their Facebook page. I'm also seeing some photos of an angled mirror on the end of it, and there are some links to be able to 3d print the angled mirror attachment, too. :) I'm holding out for that while I start recording some vids for my craft channel (won't mention it here, not cool to plug it :) ) I'd love your feedback when I get it going, though! Thanks again for the great vids and info!
@@TheCrafsMan Hey thanks so much man! This put a HUGE smile on my face. Love your work and all you do. You're the kind of guy I'd just love to sit and hang out with for the day in your workshop and just tinker around and chat. :) Something tells me I'd have a lot to learn from a cool cat like you😊
I legitimately like to watch anything you're interested in telling us. I LOVE animation and film, so this definitely peaks my interest, as does your slider thingie. But seriously, you could talk about paint drying if that made you happy and I would love it.
Hannah, thank you so so much! As always! :)
My New Orleans ears are percolating. Your voice is extremely relaxing and comforting, especially from someone made of felt.
I love you so much crafsman. every one of your videos makes me feel so warm and in a good place. thank you so much. I used to fall asleep every night to your videos. thank you for sharing so much knowledge with all of us and putting in so much work into you videos. i love you crafsman. keep on steady craftin.
Crafsman, I think I can safely speak for the bulk of the viewership when I say we'd all be REAL happy for 2022 to be the year of animation.
Just block the whole calendar in for animation and we'll be here with the popcorn waiting to buy tickets.
This is SO encouraging right here. Thank you, thank you!
I agree 100%
Crafsman! I had to pause the video just as you said Heckflat because I needed to say this right here. I LOVE the concept of Heckflat and I have been excited for YEARS to see more Heckflat. Mr. Eugene won my heart instantly, and I have quoted him ever since. Please Crafsman, give us more Heckflat. Heck (see what I did), I would even be willing to contribute labor to help it come to life.
Hope your doing ok crafffffff Mann! The world needs more of you, we love you!🤟🎉
Love the "bloopers" at the end pure gold 🥇. Have a wonderful holiday, rest and relaxation.
Excellent work my friend! I LOVE that goop to take off dust motes. I am constantly seeing dust and little hairs in my shots during post-production (well after there's anything that I can do about them). I really appreciate how you take the time to go through the nitty gritty of F-stops, exposure, aperture, distance, prime lens versus a zoom lens, etc... This is all stuff that I have a vague understanding of. You are helping bring these into focus (pun intended). I'm excited for 2022 and the animation that we will see coming from Steady Craftin.' Seeing them scripts of yours gets me all PUMPED UP! Enjoy some Rn'R - you deserve it!
🧑🏽🎨 AWESOME VIDEO MR CRAFSMAN! I loved the ending with the bloopers and all ☺. You Sir are full of Surprises 👍🏽
Good times right there! Love ya Mr Crafty!
As a photographer, and a fan of youtube and animation- can I say that I LOVE THIS! I've seen f-stop explained a number of ways but the way you presented the information was about the cleanest I've ever seen. I have always loved your seemingly effortless humor and video style! Can't wait to see more animations! You're level of talent, skill, and knowledge is inspiring.
Duuuuuuuude, I've wanted that laowa probe lens for a long time. Laowa makes some crazy awesome optics.
Most helpful video! Plus you are so entertaining!
You went all 007 opening up that case Crafsman, and I’m lovin it. Merry Christmas to you and the whole Crafsfamily 🎄
And Merry Christmas to the whole Crafsman community out there.
I'd love a breakdown video on that slider. And I'd love to see more animations!
I was into stop motion when I was younger, lots of half finished projects. Interested in picking it back up so I’d love to see more about the camera rig incl the slide.
Absolutely beautiful. Taking pictures of itty bitty things is so tricky! thanks so much for the tips. Ima be watchin this vid a lot :-)
Thanks so much, buddy! :D
Happy Holidays Crafsman and the CrafsFam! Thank you for what you do. You do something that brings Joy and Happiness to sooo many people. You are the gift that keeps on giving.
Merry Christmas CrafsMan & Fam! I've enjoyed getting to know your channel this year! :)
I have the same Fishing Hut. It has such a detailed interior. I tried getting photos of it years ago, but they never turned out how I was hoping. That lens is so cool. 👍
Merry Christmas CrafsMan! I’d say “wishing you tidings of comfort and joy” but you bring it. For a LOT of viewers. Thank you for all you share.
Wow, the already very high production value of this channel is about to get even better! I hope you are able to do more animation. It’s obvious that you love it and the stuff you’ve posted so far has been excellent. BTW, everyone be name dropping B. Ross, but you also bring to mind another PBS mainstay from my childhood, chef and master story teller, Justin Wilson.
That’s the perfect tool for your unique close up style! Congrats!
Thanks, Jon! :D Mannn, I've got lots of DUSTING to do, though. :)
Your animation was so smooth, I can't wait to see what else you come up with
You are AMAZING, Mr. CrafsMan. Merry Christmas and your break.
Also, thank you very much for signal boosting other creative channels like Cajun Craftastrophe. I love T-Nu’s sense of fun and wonderment, and you’re directly responsible for introducing him (and Claude) to me. Thank you very much! Love from Minnesota.
The detail on the close ups is extraordinary
Craftsman, you will forever be my favorite UA-camr. Of course, being on UA-cam don't take away from you be a craftsman first and foremost. Which is why you are my favorite. Anyway, Thank you.
This video reminds me that sometimes it's the small things in life that make it all worth it, y'know?
Also, Merry Christmas to all y'all, I hope it's a good one!
I love when people mix up Star Wars and Star Trek references. It tickles me.
I love it when people comment about Star-Star and Trek Wars mix-ups. 🙃
;)
Oh wow! Such great shots of Lego! I'd definitely see with great joy what fun slider action you'll show us with Lego scenes!
Dear CrafsMan,
I hope you're well. Been a long time and glad you are still making videos.
We love ya CrafsMan. A cortisol break is a great idea and we'll all be here when you get back! Also, you make things a lot easier to understand so we would love to see a video on your new slider.
I just opened a present from my sister, she sent me a couple of CrafsMan stickers she bought from you. I got a bit emotional. Well I still am. Wonderful gift, to be reminded of you this morning. Merry Christmas, CrafsMan.
I like the crafting, but I also like the animation! Do the stuff you enjoy and I will enjoy watching it!
I still love your steadiness in the business of craftin.
You are absolutely amazing! That shot where you opened the case was amazing! I would love to see any video to make no matter if it’s crafting or not. I honestly believe all your subscribers feel the same. We come just to hear you and watch you videos. I at least watch one video of yours a day. It’s just something about it that’s calming. I hope you and your family have an amazing holiday. Stay crafting and I can’t wait for your return!
Wow. Thank you SO much for this! And thank you for watching my videos!
When I was a kid in the 1980s, my dad helped me make storybooks about the adventures of my LEGO Space minifigs, using a Panasonic B&W CCTV camera and a hardware/software image digitizer for the original Macintosh, called MicroImager. We also had a VCR that could _frame-advance record_ when paused, and experimented with stop motion. Ironic how, now that I have access to tools far outstripping those of a full film studio of the time, I do absolutely jack with it all. 😓
My dad made home movies with stop motion we took one frame at a time, little 3 minute reels of film in the 60's.
Cannot wait for more animation! Your excitement and creativity is infectious. Good luck with those cortisol levels
CrafsMan, there might be other videos on UA-cam that talk about camera sliders, but I for one, would rather hear you talk about them. Listening to you explain anything is entertaining. Thank you for making videos for us to enjoy.
You are a character!! The way you converse is the best! Made my day, thank you.
I do kinda love the camera videos. They're part of the video making craft it feels like. I'd like a video on how the slider works
Thank you for that perspective!
It’s been a while since I’ve seen your channel. I’m glad you’re still making content!!!
Happy Holidays. Thank you for all the videos this year. Looking forward to what's in store for the coming year.
These may be the greatest videos on YT. Yes, please more videos on ANYTHING you are interested in. Yes, the slider video would be great. Have seen the Brick Bending videos?
I am here for anything you do, whenever you do it. Enjoy your break. I will be here when you return, and ready to watch whatever comes next, especially if you are doing animation. I am ready, ready!
I would be absolutely delighted to see more on the slider. And your new macro lens. And animation. And whatever you want to show us. Your videos are just plain fun. But my wants are secondary to your health and happiness. Have a lovely holiday and find peace in your heart.
I love all of your stop motion related videos!!
You should be on TV. You're like Bob Ross, Mr. Wizard, Levar Burton, and Jim Henson all rolled into one. People ages 5-75 could all watch this show and enjoy it and that's a really impressive thing to be able to do. Continue to do what you do, please and thank you!
I love the narration! Couldn't watch it without actually, so good job :D and great review!
1:04 About to do some heavy wet work with your host, TheSniperMan... (still snipe'n).
I DID see your miniatures video and it was nice. Good shots on the sprues.
"Disengage!" hahaha i love you Crafsman
I've never seen a lens like this but it would be great for mini painting videos. Thanks Crafsman!
Merry Christmas, sir. You made me smile a lot this year, and you taught me square breathing! I appreciate you.
Thank you C.M. Good stuff. Hope you feel better soon.
Steady keeping excellent content. One of the very best creators on this platform. Quirky, entertaining, charming, and educational.
I wanna tell you that your calm demeanor and chill voice is something people need more of. There's too much yelling and being mean but no chill crafs.
Thanks for the video CrafsMan! Merry Christmas!!!
Can't wait to see your lego animations! Merry Christmas
Take all the time you need. Be well and happy. Merry Christmas to the Crafsfam!
Double snap my friend! You keep teaching this old dog new tricks. Keep up the great work👍🏼
Happy Christmas to you Crafsman and the Crafsfamily. Thanks for all the great videos, here's to lots more in 2022.
Hey TheCrafsman! The 1:1.4/50 does not mean f/1.4 to f/50! the 50 means it's a 50mm lens! But the 1:1.4 does in fact mean f/1.4 is the largest aperture. Lenses never specify the smallest aperture on the front, but it's easy to determine anyways! Just look at the aperture ring and it will tell you!
I was about to say the same, it kinda invalidated any reason for me to continuing watching this video
He's the Crafsman not the Photoman
Wishing you and yours all the best this holiday season!
To be honest I'm here for the craft videos but I really love your animations and the explanation of how it all works 👌 it's really impressive and a craft of a different nature. I think if you feel like doing an animation or video explaining animation equipment and techniques, I say go for it ☺️ it adds variety and I think everyone appreciates everything you put your hands to 👏
Of all the UA-cam makers, TheCraftsman is the one I would most like to meet next. Dude you are so smooth and exude a modern day Bob Ross vibe I simply love!
Drafting vellum is your friend Crafsman. Make you a little donut of vellum to go around the LEDs at the end of the lens. It is so thin it should not overheat. A giant SWAG here: the front lens fitting is actually sinking the LEDs already. It is probably an aluminum mass big enough to keep them cool. And, as I riff, I realize colored markers will make the vellum different colors as well.
Im excited to see those stop motions! Happy holidays craftman!
Thank you for all your videos. I always learn something new, and I feel warm and positive when the video ends. Merry Christmas! I wish the best for you and yours.
Wow Crafsman! I really enjoyed this video. I know nothing about lenses but your passion seeps through the screen 😊 Take care of yourself Crafsman, them cortisol levels are no joke. Keep doing what you love, but taking breaks are essential so you can continue to love what you do 😉 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and the Crafsfamily!
As a miniature prop maker for stop-motion animation, you are a TREASURE Crafsman! Love from California!!
I'm dying to see your animations. Don't be scared too scared to put out different content. I have fun watching you have fun!
Thank you for your continued amazing productions!
I love your animations and would LOVE to see more. I was really excited for the story about your area. That garage diorama was awesome.
Merry Crafsmas to you and your family, Crafsman! Enjoy your well-earned break.
Love to you, CrafsMan! Take good care of yourself and keep on… steady relaxin’.
Hahaha the radioactive lens silent “moving on” moment XD great vid, inspired to get back into stopmotion!
Oh Man I want one. All the best for the season Crafsman and thanks for all you do.
Looks like that equipment lens itself well toward your animative dreams, CrafsMan!
I look forward to your animations in the future, and as always, fantastic content!
Such a cool lens. I love the work that people do with them. It's so trippy to see tiny things made to look like normal size things.
I thought the aliens finally came and tested you but then I saw it was a probe lens.....now only our guy on video has something up that far..🤷♂️lol
I like how you say "finally" like it inevitable lol
I love the extra footage at the end ☺️
Can’t wait to see your upcoming Lego stop motion project one of these days!!!
love the videos, very entertaining and informative. Love checking in every once in a while to see all the new cool stuff!
One of my favorite channels talking in depth about one of my favorite hobbies. It must be Christmas. Oh wait!
Enjoy your cortisol break, I'm taking a few weeks off myself! I love this lense and would indeed like to hear about that slider. Let me know if you need any voice help for any of your animations- pretty sure that's a favor I need to return to you! :D
BROOKES! Mannn, I hope you enjoy the time off! :D Thank you for watching, and for the feedback! Also, it would be a treat to have you voice a character! :D
Good luck with your Stop Motion projects in 2022!
Yes on the slider! And stoked for animation too
No matter if you're steady animatin or steady craftin, I'll be steady watchin.
I love the shots you got with this!!
This channel is such a hidden treasure. Thanks CrafsMan.
Yes on the slider vid. And happy holidays
Lego- the ultimate toy! Merry Christmas for Crafty family!
I love everything about this video 🤣😂😍. Lights. Sound. Photography. Crafsman. I'm not even into cameras/lenses. Merry Christmas, Crafsman ✝️🎄. Enjoy your well deserved respite. Catch you on the flip.
I love the outtakes at the end. Too bad you couldn’t use them Fred’s coupons on that thing; coulda’ saved you a lot of money.
;) Brandon my man, thank you for this!
Na man, those coupons belong to Dark Vadar.
Those Fuji X series cameras are so good! Now I know why I always like the color and lighting in your videos. When I was a broke college student, I saved for 2 years to get the cheapest model, the XA-1. Pictures from that 10 year old camera still look great and I think color rendering has a lot to do with it.
Have a good vacation! You have to put your health first, and we get it. To adapt the California cheese lingo, Happy Crafsmans make happy videos.
