It's an AF-P lense. AF-P lenses use a Pulse motor and are quieter and smoother to autofocus than an AF-S lens, making these lenses ideal when shooting video with a DSLR.
VR does indeed stand for "Vibration Reduction", whereas Sigma for example puts OS on their lenses (optical stabilization). It would be better if they would all use the same terms haha. But Nikon does indeed make very good kitlenses so perfect for a beginner, but I hardly use mine anymore tho.
All you have to do is aim at what you want in-focus & half-press the shutter button, then aim at what you want blurred & snap. The first part will be sharp & the latter will have that wonderful bokkeh.
Thanks for this video on the 18-55mm kit lens....I think it's a GREAT walkaroubnd DX lens: I also use it on a full frame Nikon for a 27-82mm perspective! Again, thank you!
what did you use to edit them? they turned out really well, I bought the Nikon D3400 for my photography class and now I want to give it a better use and experiment more with it!
Hi Ilias, I’ve just bought a d3500 with 18-50 kit lens and i’m thinking of buying a sigma 17-50 f2.8. I’m planning to do some street photography and maybe some club photography (so lowlight conditions). Would you recommend it or should I buy something else? Thank you for your time 😁
Ilias brother , in a month im gonna take nikon d3400 with kit lens and 70-300.. 1.should i take it or not 2.can i cover all types of photography with these 2 lens 3.what is your advise for a first dslr buyer 4.if you were me , what would you do.. REPLY ONLY IF YOU HAVE TIME.
1) I need to know what your budget is! 2) You can cover most of the photography Genres but you will have a hard time when the sun goes down. These two lenses are not built for low light situations. Also If you like Bokeh for portraits you will have some problems with those things as well. But they are perfect travel kits. If you are into Travel/outdoors photography they are perfect 3-4) Again i need a budget to answer these questions
@@b7s240 Get the camera with 50mm 1.8g lens, then if you have spare money get a 35mm 1.8g. You're all set 🔥🔥🔥 18-55 and 70-300 will not five you low light capabilities and will not give professional result. I have 4 of the lenses so i am speaking from my experience 👍 and then if you have more money to spend on this, You can buy multiple spare batteries...You don't need anything
Exactly what asseem said above me! You can even check the cheaper yongnuo 50mm 1.8. These two lenses are great but you will need a prime lens for low light for sure
"Is this lens useable?" I absolutely detest reading that comment. Does it fit on your camera and can you take photos with it, if so then yes, of course it's bloody "useable".
Man if you can't understand the statement like everyone else i don't know what to tell you. Just because some lenses fit in your camera that doesn't make them usable nor should you spend your money on them. Some lenses are straight garbage. This one isn't. I love Nikon kit lenses (at least most of them)
When i shoot in rain i put it in a plastic bag. I have also shot many times during snow at -5. You can see that in my Instagram. But during rain and or extreme snow storms use plastic bags or something else to protect it.
@@IliasKoureas oh yeah that means they can operate in the cold but still leak from snow or water, should you use a raincoat or just simply plastic bag on it?

Wow didn't knew that. It's funny they should switch up the names because the s could mean "silent" 😂 missed opportunity there

I agree these names always confuse me 😂 Since i got the sigma 17-50mm i sold mine

Sorry for the sound issue on the cat scene in the beggining. Dont know what happened lol
I've had photos published with this lens .
As well as studio work ...
i can imagine! Stepping it down a bit makes it razor sharp!

i buy the same model week ago, got any tips?
A kitlens is fine, specially if the bokeh is not a priority. Quality 1:1 on 100% is perfect.
Agreed 100%

Yes!! The sigma is absolutely great. It's my favourite "do it all" lens on these cameras.
