You always are listening and trying to sneak. Looking at your surrounding for advantageous positioning incase something is around the corner. I can tell that playing on easy takes a lot of the excitement out of this game just by watching the first few minutes of your video.
Hmm, played 12 hours or so on normal, made no difference. Just made it slightly playable in those later parts. It's not memorable walking around, no matter the difficulty. It's called boring filler.
@@albugeorge9975 it is most definitely NOT and most modern gamers won't understand it because it doesn't hold your hand and baby you through the whole game.
@@Skycaptin5of course it’s not memorable when you’re playing on easy. You’re able to walk from point a to point b with little to no worries. Stalker 2 is by no means a perfect game , sure it has some technical problems and bugs but for me being a old school stalker fan it is the best vanilla stalker experience you can have ,stalker has always been survival and exploration game at its core ,so fast travel from anywhere would be stupid and would defeat the purpose that YOU have to journey trough the zone at your own peril , this is not Ubisoft or Bethesda user friendly live service game, i also understand that it may not be for everyone and that"s fine . you do raise valid points about glitches and bugs sure but i think that you also misunderstood what the stalker is all about.
Most people playing this aren’t old school stalker fans and I’m sick of people wanting a game to be exactly like the last one. It’s 2024 and there is no excuse for a game being released in this condition and the design choices are rediculous. 4000 to fix a gun I use for 5 minutes, walking miles weighed down for 20 minutes just to unload to go back out for another 10 minute quest. @@ajc2435 Dude, Series X runs it at about 45-55fps and looks really good... If you play this game on the highest spec PC you will have slightly better performace and better graphics for thousands more dollars with other issues with shader compilation etc. Most PC's run the game at similar frame rate to Series X so stop bashing the consoles.
@@ajc2435 I just checked a video on Hardware Unboxed GPU benchmarks for Stalker 2 and they were only able to get 120fps with an RTX 4090 at 1080p medium settings which fluctuates between 86-120fps.
This game is so damn fun. I've waited decades for this and it's my game of the year so far. A lot of the "problems" you have with the game are intentional and are in previous Stalker games that the fans enjoy so don't bash it just because it's not the game you want it to be because the players that this game was made for like the game that way.
Hi. I put about 4000 hours in fallout 4 and after leaving the vault I never touched the story. Is it possible to just scavenge or do I need to advance the story?
Hey, Stalker sounds like the game for you if that’s the case. Main missions are fun and the last part of the game is going to be like a gear and skill check as the game will throw the whole kitchen sink at you, at least in the previous games. This game is like an immersive, creepy, atmospheric, supernatural, wasteland exploration and scavenging, battle sim kinda game and you can definitely just do whatever you like besides the main quest.
@@markhill7392 Sorry, I forgot to mention but this game does have a few actual launch issues but the developers are working hard to fix them. I’m still enjoying it, though, but I would be lying if I said it was perfect and you’d probably benefit from waiting like with pretty much any game nowadays. You can try it on gamepass.
@Airinas96 yea I already bought it. There are some weird things happening with the sticks or something. There's no deadzone it seems. Nothing game breaking so far though. I think I'll be happy with it. Happy Thanksgiving.
I've found it runs much better on the Series X in Quality Mode. Digital Foundry proves how much better the game runs and looks in Quality Mode vs Performance Mode. The game has pop in issues and all over the place in Performance Mode but runs fine in Quality Mode.
@@Justmeandmy20cents There's always give and take. Digital Foundry proved that in it's current state, the game consistently runs better in Quality Mode because there's issues that start occurring in the game as soon as you switch to Performance Mode.
Yeah I'm playing it in quality mode as well at least until performance mode is improved. I started in performance but quickly switched to quality because it looks better and runs stable with a lot less pop in, it's not a fast all action game.
Another person that doesn't know what they're doing when it comes to the game's darkness settings. Change LDR to RGB, the other setting stay at 50% standard, but bump the gamma from 45 to 50. All you did was jack up your brightness, the LDR is why your game looks crushing dark. You're welcome.
It would be like; super cool, if the game had properly calibrated basic brightness and gamma settings eh? In fact, I think this is the only game I've ever played that doesn't have those.
@Skycaptin5 It is properly calibrated, it just doesn't know which setting your TV should be on between LDR and RGB, which is why the option to change it is in the games settings. Once you change that you don't even need to bump the gamma to 50, but it's recommended because it's only set at 45. If you're playing the game and it looks like a crushing black to where you can't see 3 ft in front of you, then you just change that one option in the settings. The entire night time changes, the night has a nice radiated overcast where you can see but it's still pretty dark.
This IS very important. According to DF the gamma settingg are wrong. There are two profiles for monitors, you have to change the defauult to the other one. And still go Up the gamma from defauult to 60-80. I didnt enjoy the Game until I figured out myself the gamma was wrong. I have been playing on both series x and s. I felt the series s version IS a more stable experience. It IS an amazing Game. The Game can be played. It IS not a situation like cyberpunk. The core Game IS there working at least. It needs some important fixes. My character was leaning right and down eveerytime I switch on/off the flasight. That lasted for many hours then dissaeqred. AI must be improved but still IS better than most shooters.
@Skycaptin5 yeah. I played a lot of dark games before but clearly there was something very wrong here.. Daylight was looking awefull too. When you figure out looks incredible.. Another thing that does not work on Any platform IS motion Blur. Doesnt work at all. It would help a lot specially on 30 fps mode. It feels a bit slideshow now (although is 30 fps locked).
I’ve put in hours on the series x version. I haven’t ran into any quest breaking bugs. Don’t get me wrong it does need some work. But it’s very playable. But it’s minor bugs with npc sounds in and out, and sometimes my hud would disappear, or I watch a npc piss around the bases while walking 😂. Idk how it was in early access. But it’s not to bad.
The biggest problem I have is that some areas with light sources and daylight are looking too dark but you just turn on the flashlight and try to look past it for the time being. This is my game of the year until KCD 2 comes out.
You should not see in night time! Have you ever wach out nights, you have flash light. I am one of lucky ones, I had have visual bugs but no grash and I play on PC
@@teemuheino1187 “you should not see in night time!” So then why does the enemy A.I have perfect aim in darkness? How is it they’re spotting you through walls in the middle of the night? It works both ways
The amount of complaining about walking in games nowadays blows my mind. Shows that you guys are young LOL. One of the greatest games of all time, skyrim, was nothing but walking around on an enormous map and you couldn't fast travel until you found the locations to do so at which is not much different than this game. Despite its Brokenness I am feeling the same way I felt when I first played Skyrim when it released
Honestly. Many of your Frustrations with the game are the typical Stalker expirience. I am 20 hours in and I am having a blast as an old school Stalker fan. For me Stalker 2 is already the best game in the whole series. To claim it is broken is wrong. To me Stalker has always been about Immersion and this is where Stalker 2 delivers.
Now they just need to add a thousand planets and a spaceship that can only be controlled during loading screens. Thanks Stalker 2 for this amazing game!
There are definitely some glitches and bugs, but your gripes about the game mechanics, lighting, difficulty, etc. are just signs that this kind of game isn’t for you. All of these “issues” You speak of are the exact things that excite people like me about a game like this. To each their own, but acknowledge that you’re just not cut out for this type of game.
@@nicholasvirgilio5857 dude, the game hasn’t evolved at all and it’s been nearly 20 years. Trying to belittle someone by saying they aren’t cut out for this game when the game has major issues makes you seem upset. The original stalker had more content and performed better than this. This game is in early access and it shows.
Stalker is survival game and always has been if you ain't fan of conserving ammo, loading 5-20 times to get pass certain enemy or situation Stalker is not your type of game...
@@razor15593 To be frank, I strongly doubt bugs will ever be ironed out completely its exactly same case as with original Stalker series small team creating a big game and vision. You should approach this game with same expectation as Bethesda games there will be always jank and bugs but they are part of its charm and identity, performance issues again are other matter.
I was having not a ton but a bit of stuttering in non-populated areas. I switched my encoding mode to sRGB and it seems to have smoothed it out aside from heavy NPC areas. Maybe its just me but it seems noticeable without any graphical downside.
Are there certain things that are unable to be fixed, or updated, once a game is released? Or does this game have the ability via patches to reach its full potential? In other words, can patches fix everything? Or are there some things that the player is stuck with…things that just can’t be patched. Thanks.
@CharlesVanexX I'm actually loving as well. I'm playing on series x and to be honest not to buggy so far. But with series x it's pretty much plug and play ya know two settings to choose from quality or performance. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to fine tune it on PC.
You don't use HDR right? I've used HDR for this game and didn't notice any brightness issues. I wonder if the bug only affects people using SDR or if other gamers who use HDR are also experiencing the bug.
Can’t use HDR, messes with recording and editing with it is a mess. Others have reported the same brightness problems. But alas could be fine for HDR only users.
Playing it on GP but I am going to pick up the Ultimate edition in a few weeks. I own all of the original from 2007 and all of the Metro games. It has it's issues but considering the circumstances and the way Stalker released back in the day it was no surprise. Hell Bethesda put out a lesser game in Starfield and they have infinite funding especially after MS bought them and they still failed to the point where Todd told us we needed to upgrade our rigs.At least GSC owns it and will fix it. The mods will improve the game because the modding community will actually want to work with the game because the developers have passion unlike some other devs that are goated for a game that the modding community kept afloat for decades. I am amazed that it even runs on old hardware that is found in consoles that alone is amazing. You complain way too much about what makes Stalker a great game. I t isn't SUPPOSED to be easy you are over incumbered in almost every Bethesda game and many other games. I figured most of the newer gamers would not be able to understand what the game is intended to be and is. As far as the long load times you are playing on a potato as far as the this game goes. Stick with COD and other easier games. Horrible review.
@OzzyFan80 the only rebuttal I have is this. If STALKER is supposed to be hard, then why did they add difficulty options? Why not go the Fromsoft route and just have the one setting for everyone?
@@johnnyjets2343 Very fair rebuttal and I can only think it is because they wanted to make it accessible to console players and really just bring it to a new audience . Game difficulty has changed a lot in 17 years. The original Stalker games had 4 modes beginner,Stalker,Veteran and Master. That is a good question and I can only guess as I really don't know. I remember the original being much harder though. Stalker 2 does need some work for sure but is super fun, I love it.
@@OzzyFan80 I have never played the Stalker games. But i am thinking of jumping into SOC here soon when i finish up the game i am currently playing. I love the Metro games as they are among some of my favorite fps shooters out there. I play those on Ranger hardcore difficulty too. I am just more concerned about the bugs/optimization at this point with Stalker. 2 biggest things i have heard are the spawning of enemies out of thin air and the economy could use some adjusting.
@@johnnyjets2343 I love all of the metro games myself I have owned them all on PS and Xbox and just recently got the whole series for 9.00 on a Steam sale recently. Ranger difficulty is hard on that game. Right now, those bugs you mentioned are prevalent and you mentioned that is a worry I would wait a bit so they can balance it out and fix the spawning issue out. I tried going out of a military base and it was non stop spawning so I ran out of everything bullets, med kits bread and was left trying to heal with bread and a few bandages LOL. I died and tried a different route, and the spawning issue wasn't there so it is hit and miss but those things don't bother me as I will play through it then wait until it is fixed and play through it again. I has memory leaks on PC, and it will start to freeze for a few seconds, or the frames will drop to 10 or something but once that happens, I just restart it, and it is good to go. It happens once a day and I have been playing for about 10 hours a day. I would wait and i really think GSC will fix it very soon so your wait won't be long.
Can't tell if the contradictory comments are just straight up cope. You literally demonstrated how poor and broken the AI is during this very commentary. Yet people are suggesting you're just not playing it right. The game is clearly underbaked. Just looking and the state of the combat tells me I don't need to touch this game for at least a good few updates. I'll be playing SOC in the meantime.
Have you had problems with ur ps5 pro making games look bad? I’m tryna see if I should get one. Idk have a problem with the price for what it is because it’s just $100 more than the new galaxy black series x which was just a new color and just a extra tb
@TobiasTheArtist The PS5 Pro isn't perfect. However that's not to say it doesn't have improvements over the base PS5. Games like FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Lies Of P, Diablo 4 look amazing on this device due to its AI upscaling technology and honestly have never looked better when it comes to console gaming Now there are some games that aren't doing so well on the PS5 Pro. Alan Wake 2, Jedi Survivor, Silent Hill 2. These games in particular are very demanding games due to their engines. So you can't really blame the console since these particular games aren't that well optimized for the PC platform either. These are the select few as of now. Depending which Graphics mode you select, yes it can look worse than the base PS5 due to the glaring distractions that are seen on screen. However if you chose the Graphics option that doesn't have those problems, then you won't notice them. For example. Jedi Survivor and Alan Wake 2 perform better on Resolution than performance and look extra sharp. Silent Hill 2 performs better on Performance Mode than fidelity since Fidelity looks worse due to those glaring distractions. The PS5 Pro is a substantial upgrade so long as the game developer manages to deliver a well polished version of the base PS5. Not all games have been tested yet. But so far the consensus for the games that do look better than the base PS5 versions are substantially high compared to the negative outlook of a select few games that were never optimized well to begin with. So as long as you do your research and see which games might have problems on PS5 Pro and how to improve your own gaming experience. This is a solid console to own, especially if you're into new tech that improves the overall image and quality when it comes to gaming feeling more fluid, prettier to look at, and fun to play through. Ultimately it is your decision. I'd say go for it.
The amount of stalker fanboys out here defending this game is absolutely hilarious. Ukraine could've crapped out a rotten turd and these guys will be defending it 😂😂😂
Games shouldn't feel like a chore to play. This game is one to look out for in 2026 when its more balanced and all of the bugs/frustrations are fixed. Not worth getting into now
This game is not hard on normal, when you start to get how to manage it. When I started making money in the game I could repair my guns after every major fight because I had like 50-100k in ”coupons” so I never had my gun jam. You are basically bickering about a survival game. Just go play COD
My weapon mods are disappearing.. for example the lasersight on my pistol. And when i go to the crafting dude, it will say that lasersight is already installled but i cannot seem to get it back on my pistol anymore. Also, having several bloodsuckers spawn at once while still in the first zone was also not a good time. (I did rage-quit several times). Despite all the technical issues (and there’s a lot of them) I’m still enjoying myself (i just run from certain fights) but looking forward to updates/tweaks.
@ Oh man, that’s so sour that I just learned to appreciate the bugs I’m experiencing. If my weps would completely disappear on me, I’d seriously rage-quit.
It’s just me or it is a bug, every time I try to change motion blur, save the change, exit the menu but NOTHING CHANGE AT ALL? And if I return in the motion blur option it still reset to low
@ thx man, now that I know it I’m okay ahaha. Appreciate your answer, doesn’t expect you to answer me. I love your job, every time I search for a game I ALLWAYS chose your videos! Keep going!
Unreal engine 5 is such a mess too, idk what the fuck is lumen supposed to do but those ray traced reflections are worse than games from 2000's. May as well use SSR and cube maps . All this game did for me was make me want to replay metro exodus. Sad to see this game riding a positive high on steam mainly based on nationalism , as much I feel for the hard working conditions of the devs.
im at the Extreme Simplicity main mission and cannot progress due to Strider not showing up and im also playing on xbox. im gonna wait for this patch to see if it fixes if not im done.
Very unfortunate they even had to release this game on console. Really dumbed down a bunch of the mechanics all for casuals like you to just complain about it anyway.
Mine is directly taken from the console so it looks as accurate to how it actually is as it can be. I had the same issues, but it gets better when you enter the vast open world. But yes, performance problems as mentioned, and there is that blur which I mention which is the TSR solution. Deadzone drift is a problem I highlight too, the developers are fixing that very soon which is great.
@ yeah I watched the video I guess it’s just UA-cam for some reason it looked better than on my tv lol I’ve gotten to the first town area Alyssa or whatever it is do I have to go further? As always appreciate The videos though and the responses good stuff 🙏
Just like their previous titles in the Stalker series, this release is another f*cking bug mess of a game. The vision that these developers have for the Stalker series and world is genius. But damn, when will these guys get their sh*t together and release a proper product without the gross bugs. It's just unacceptable in this day and age. Someone at the company needs to take a long, hard look at what it means to have quality assurance before releasing a video game. I'm glad I saved 59.99 USD and passed on this game.
Ya there's a lot to love about this franchise, but it's just sadly hidden behind a body of riddled never ending bugs that's barely held together. It's hard to look pass those issues when the experience is also incredibly grueling. Someday there will be a definitive edition of this with some mod support to make it more enjoyable and that will truly be a special gaming experience to behold.
@@Skycaptin5 Word. By the way, your videos are fun to watch. I like your down-to-earth evaluations. I must have download a good copy… I haven’t had any real technical issues except for one stutter right after a save. Night is night.. sorry kids. Head out with me on an early am hunt when there is no moon. The flashlight could be brighter or an option for a better flashlight with limited battery life. A moon cycle would be worth adding. My grip with some shootouts is the AI has cheats enabled. The enemies are all John wick from 200 yards… Stealth is non existent unless you are sneaking behind someone. Binoculars would be helpful… I have no expectations games will release squared away. They are just to complicated but the should release week before to beta and flush out some of these issues. The game was included with game pass so it’s an easy win. If they fix most of it.. I may buy a copy to reward developers.
@Sky That bug is still making me laugh. The bug issues in this game will take a very long time (if ever) to fix. Not one reviewer (that I've seen) has mentioned the severity of the bug issues. At the end of the day, honesty is the most important factor of a review and you got it sir. Kudos!

@Airinas96 that sounds perfect. Thanks for the info I'm going to go ahead and buy it. Enjoy.
I wouldn't want to drop the better frame rate in a shooter.
A first person shooter in 30 fps and even bellow? Impossible.
@@Justmeandmy20cents There's always give and take. Digital Foundry proved that in it's current state, the game consistently runs better in Quality Mode because there's issues that start occurring in the game as soon as you switch to Performance Mode.
currently playing it in Quality mode too. Until they patch up the performance mode. Quality is quite good right now.
Your commentary was amazing. Keep it up 👏🏾
This man just doesn’t get it 🙂↔️
This game is amazing. I really like it. But it's a very good review, thanks!
When using SDR you should use SRGB mode, it doesn't look as dark.
I do go over the gamma settings and my recommended gamma/brightness settings. It's completely broken.
Nothing wrong with easy mode. Theres a reason I don’t play games like Elden ring after working 10 hours
I'm on series X but I think after your streams, I'm going to wait 4- 6 months minimum for updates n' patches. Good review though 👍

The amount of complaining about walking in games nowadays blows my mind. Shows that you guys are young LOL. His settings are not good at all in my opinion. You should use sRGB in SDR or it will look too dark.
"Broken, broke .. kinda broke."
"THE GAME IS AMAZING!"
🥴🤒

And its over 130gb to boot. Brutal
Are there certain things that are unable to be fixed, or updated, once a game is released? Or does this game have the ability via patches to reach its full potential? In other words, can patches fix everything? Or are there some things that the player is stuck with…things that just can’t be patched. Thanks.
I think so, it’s just going to take a rather long time I figure. Hopefully the larger problems are fixed sooner than later.
First patch coming up coming week. 👍
I hope it cleans things up, but this game will certainly take a ton of patches to get it fully cleaned up.
Yup. Played a bit and just decided to wait a while. A buddy is loving it on pc.
@CharlesVanexX I'm actually loving as well. I'm playing on series x and to be honest not to buggy so far. But with series x it's pretty much plug and play ya know two settings to choose from quality or performance. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to fine tune it on PC.
It's brutal but I like it. playing it on Xbox, it has ome minor bugs but nothing game braking

When I walk around/dodge anomalies, I think of Death Stranding but in first person without Porters abilities
HDR brightness between 40 and 60. leave HDR whitepoint at 1000. don't touch anything else. the game is supposed to be dark
@@II_Th3oRy_II HDR is too dark also in my case.
I expected this to look better in Series X. Does anything random happen when you're walking in the wasteland like in fallout?
Watching you fight that boss last night was crazy
it was a... a journey. I ended up killing it in under 3 minutes. Silly waste of time that was.
t isn't SUPPOSED to be easy you are over
incumbered in almost every Bethesda game and many other games.
Huh, look bad?
@ yeah I know the pro is suppose to make the games look better but some people are saying it’s making games look bad
If you already own a ps5 there is absolutely zero sense getting the pro unless you manage to sell your normal ps for a good price.
@TobiasTheArtist The PS5 Pro isn't perfect. However that's not to say it doesn't have improvements over the base PS5. Games like FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Lies Of P, Diablo 4 look amazing on this device due to its AI upscaling technology and honestly have never looked better when it comes to console gaming
Now there are some games that aren't doing so well on the PS5 Pro.
@@flufflenuggit6499 thanks for the detailed response this is what I was looking for

Unfortunately without a VRR display it's dire...
If 12 hrs in is unplayable how did you complete it?
Sometimes when I respawn or load saves guns are entirely missing or I’ll have random ones replacing one I had.

Mine is directly taken from the console so it looks as accurate to how it actually is as it can be. I had the same issues, but it gets better when you enter the vast open world. Deadzone drift is a problem I highlight too, the developers are fixing that very soon which is great.

Ya there's a lot to love about this franchise, but it's just sadly hidden behind a body of riddled never ending bugs that's barely held together. stalker 2 its a unreal 5 , xbox serie x what its broken its the serie x no power to push this game

The most buggy game you've ever played? Did you just start gaming? Calisto Protocol, Cyberpunk etc... you lost all credibility making that statement.
I've very likely played more games than you will in your life time.
I've probably been gaming longer then you've been alive lil skipper. @@Skycaptin5
I've likely been gaming longer then you've been alive lil tadpole. This game isn't even in the top 5 most buggy games upon release. @@Skycaptin5
Calm down you are showing your copium with Stalker 2 waaaay to much,
The game itself feels pointless. What goal am I working towards? What progression?
It feels aimless and there’s largely nothing to do
There is a story you're working through
This game sucks. Overhyped trash just like Scorn
Yet another company giving us the beta version of the game to test it for them ridiculous I'm gonna forsure what for a couple updates
This game is unplayable on series x. Enemies become bullet sponges a few hours into the game. Then there's a game breaking bug which locks you into looking at one particular spot and you can't shake it off.
Had to delete it. Can't risk sinking hours into such a broken game 🤔
You’re 💯 % right … I will tray and wait to see if they actually make the game more playable
Played it for several hours on my series x, looks like a xbox 360 game, plays like a xbox 360 game, deleted the game and went on playing fallout 76 on my ps5...
@@shellparsley5799 🤡🤣
It for sure does not look like a 360 game on my series x & monitor. Upgrade your television. Get a "LED" flat screen. Them box tvs dont hit like they used to 😂
