  • Spearfishing in the worlds strongest tidal current can be fatal. Respect the power of nature, take your time to study the current and be aware that wolffish are protected within the area.
    Take no chances and always have a boat nearby for an easy exit if things go wrong. Mind your surroundings and dont stay in the fun-zone longer than you can manage !

    judging by their reaction some of these fishes act like they've never seen a speargun in southern france where I live believe me they know they also know the specific noise a rubber band speargun does when you press the trigger and they take off nice video keep posting more tak 4 sharing : )

      This is in Norway. We normaly have like 12-19*C in summer and in winter it often drop to 2-6*C

      my god 12° is the water temperature in the winter where I live (Nice) 5.5 mm is the most common 7mm for people into "wait technique" (agachon) northern france brittany normandy in the winter the water temperature 7° 7mm so they probably use thicker wet suits like 9mm well that's is what I would use if I was going up there anyway

    great video. how long does the tidal current last, and how long is it slack tide? Do you check the charts anywhere? is it in a fjord? what part of Norway?

    • @MichaelBy
      @MichaelBy  7 років тому

      tidal change every 6 hours, slack tide depends on moon phase, during full moon and new moon the slack is approx. 15 minutes, but it´s never really calm. Northern Norway above the arctic circle. Tidal charts are available online and through campsites on loacation.

      Thanks - I was once at the Lofoten island, it was amazing. I fished some cod from a pier. really easy. do you go also in the open sea? there should be less tidal currents there. How many months are you able to fish? if slack is only 15 min, how long do you manage to dive? are there people who do it from shore without a boat? is a 5mm suit sufficient? Great stuff!
