Blade goes first, set it on the bed of the truck. Spin around and push the machine up from the rear. Then you can crawl up without moving the truck.

Even doing the blade first, when you boom down to lift the machine up, you also need to stick out so that you are pushing the excavator into the truck. If you only move the main boom the arc of the boom will start pulling the machine closer to the bucket(away from the truck) the lower the boom gets.

I have loaded a lot of excavators this way, and it usually works well. We can't see what failed or why it failed. Anyone putting the blade in the bed first is the guy who will get hurt first. Not sure it would help to toss a old piece of plywood under the bucket so it would slide a bit easier or not. Most of those style excavators can lay on their side for a while and not trade places with engine oil for a good while if you get it back up again.. should still run fine and continue loading it. Pride gets hurt but really its just all in a days work

Just think of how much money you would have saved to have just bought a trailer. Just think of how much TIME you would save to load onto a trailer instead of this risky maneuver. I've seen people with too much confidence and bravado try this maneuver before (and yes most succeed most of the time) but I have NEVER seen anyone try to do this SOLO as the truck driver and equipment operator. That was twice the recipe for disaster. You shouldn't be surprised - sooner or later this was coming your way - its just statistics. I'm glad your ok, hope you learned more from this than simply trying again next time. Imagine doing this and having one of many hydraulic lines burst. Imagine doing this and having the truck brakes let go or the tires lose traction in the mud and start sliding. Imagine doing this and having a soft spot in the dirt cause one end of the blade to sink in. There is only about 100 things outside of your control that could go wrong even if your a top operator who does all your precise maneuvers right - then you put the icing on the cake by doing this alone solo getting in and out of the mini-ex over and over in odd positions. Don't mean to chew you out, but just get a dang trailer. Then you could haul your equipment and a load of dirt it dug at the same time.

When you do that you can turn around and track further towards the truck without lifting the other end up from the ground.

Interestingly, I see a lot of videos where the truck/trailer is always driven "under" the excavator when it is high. I would never do it that way. Either you can push up on the truck and reach the loading area with the blade and the undercarriage, which would have been possible without any problems in this case, or you leave it altogether and use loading ramps. Driving the vehicle back and forth is somehow wrong in all areas.

He needs to practice crawling up over logs and learn how to use boom/ dipper controls with your hands and track controls with your feet in unison and this becomes easy and safe even with a slippery truck deck.

#1 if your excavator has a blade, then load it forward, why? When it comes out, you will scrape if you unload it in reverse.
#2 The tracks were long enough to reach the truck bed so why use the blade for leverage?
#3 NEVER EVER EVER leave your machine unattended on a cautious situation like this. Backing up the truck was cringe watching. Always be in a machine when you get in a sticky situation to stop it ASAP or back away.

Ума нет- считай колека, зачем руля крутил? Надо было сразу ровно к кузову подъезжать и при заезде ,,задним,, ходом на платформу рукоять одновременно с ковшом выворачивать. 2 основные ошибки.

After that i bought ramps, but it was not safer. Its very slippery when tracks are wet or frost outside.

Don't need ramps just need a operator. You saw his qualifications first hand when he didn't even have enough sense to shut the machine off while it was on its side all the while
