I can't be sure of this; but I think that the police car on display was the one driven by officer Martin Whitfield. Martin was the most severely injured officer in the shootout but by some sheer miracle he survived despite being shot in the leg and in the chest. He has since become a successful restaurant owner in his hometown of Indianapolis, IN. James Zboravan was shot in the back but managed to successfully survive despite suffering from constant back pain from two herniated discs in his spine. James has since been able to successfully rise through the ranks of the L.A.P.D and achieve the rank of Sergeant.
@@MateoElvira You're welcome! I can honestly say that the L.A.P.D learned that they need to not be outgunned by the perpetrators during an active shooter situation. As a result of the North Hollywood shootout; some officers of the L.A.P.D have access to M-16 rifles when they are on patrol. The L.A.P.D also learned that they need to neutralize the threat as soon as possible.
@@michaellovely6601 I think that's what makes this shootout unique is that it changed the way modern policing was done. And it really wasn't that long ago..
Its crazy how much body armor that the robbers were wearing, they had been shot hundreds of times by police bullets and they weren't penetrating threw. And it's about to become 25 years at the time of my posting.
