I ended up seeing the last performance they did of this and Steve and Brandon absolutely nailed it. "Poor Child" and "Make Me Happy" were everything you could've asked for.
I have watched every episode of younger twice. Worked on Broadway twice and I saw both different versions on and off Broadway of wild party. Sutton is amazing but she’s just too nice to play Queenie. Toni Collette touched into the actual frustration anxiety temptation of Queenie. I was nine years old when I saw Toni Colette rip her top off and then the next day I saw the other version. One has a great book the other one has a great song list I still would wantToni Colette to sing that score because she was so raw. Thank you thank you thank you Sutton Foster for reminding us about this beautiful score and this beautiful competition of THE wild parties! But you’re just not mean enough to play someone like the poem described her as
Less a wild party more or a tame soiree. It's interesting, Sutton Foster is trying so hard to put her own spin on Queenie and it almost works. She's a very shrewd actress but her strengths don't necessarily lend themselves to the character.
@camara1194 I thought it worked too - a lot of hate in these comments which i don’t get. It’s an encores show, they don’t have long with these characters. I really like what I saw of her especially in raise the roof
I want the album but only Steven Pasquale’s numbers. The rest of the cast was... not it, however amazing they are in other roles. Not to mention Steven Pasquale is so hot here.
I saw LaChiusa's "The Wild Party" in 2000. What a talented cast!. I still listen to the CD and remember the story quite well. I wish the would do a revival of that.
I disagree, when I saw it she was absolutely amazing and hit all the notes perfectly. It's a very different role than she usually plays, so it's amazing to me how well she pulled it off.
It’s comfortably within her range, it just sounds strange stylistically. Her places is wrong for this kind of score is all but they have about a weeks rehearsal for these
I agree with others, Sutton is great, but she appears to lack energy in this role for the clips I've seen, a lack of erraticism. Too calm and disinterested compared to the rest of the cast.
+Danielle Theriaque www.playbill.com/news/article/see-sutton-fosters-shattering-performance-of-brand-new-wild-party-song-video-353495 This was from rehearsals- her voice actually cracked at one point in this version, but in performance it was amazing!
Exactly. Steven Pasquale rocked it! The others, not so much. If it wasn’t for him, I’d think this was a community production. Kinda embarrassed for the rest of this cast!
Well at least Steven Pasquale nailed it. I would love to hear this version's "poor child" and "make me happy".
I saw it on its closing night. Everyone was phenomenal, and those songs were gorgeous :)

They did Sutton so dirty with that wig
I love Sutton... But Julia was just perfection in that role...
steven needs to be casted way more than he is for everything he should be the most popular actor on brodway
I actually adore Sutton in this role
Really wish there was a cast album for this production
I know!!!

That’s not a bad thing bc Sutton is perfect playing so many more role, but Queenie is a a Hooch drinking fool.
Less a wild party more or a tame soiree.

Oh see I thought it worked

the best version of wild party!! it so deserves a revival
WHERE IS THE GRIT?? 😞 just.... 😞
Also a reminder they had like a week to rehearse this
Joaquina Kalukango has a nice take on the role of Kate, but Idina Menzel owns "The Life of the Party".
oh Idina for sure. Ciara actually was supposed to play this role.
sutton is so amazing but this role was...not for her
Welcome back Miriam Shor !!!
Sutton looks great for this!!!
Agreed! I like her as Queenie in these clips!
@@potroastpig Yes!!!!!! me too
Raise the roof was definitely not written in sutton's range. I know her name is famous but she was not right for this role.
I disagree, when I saw it she was absolutely amazing and hit all the notes perfectly. It's a very different role than she usually plays, so it's amazing to me how well she pulled it off.
You are 100% correct. She looks the part and that is it
Agree!
It’s comfortably within her range, it just sounds strange stylistically. Her places is wrong for this kind of score is all but they have about a weeks rehearsal for these
My friend is playing Kate!
The more I watch this the campier it gets. No.
left a like for steve
Woooo Steven Pasquale at 1:58
Wish there was a cast album for this....
Did they change the lyrics or did Sutton just flub them?
They made revisions for this production.
I agree with others, Sutton is great, but she appears to lack energy in this role for the clips I've seen, a lack of erraticism. Too calm and disinterested compared to the rest of the cast.
Where can I hear the whole song " A Happy Ending" ? I've looked everywhere and I can't find it.

This was from rehearsals- her voice actually cracked at one point in this version, but in performance it was amazing!
Thank you!
Just so everyone is on the same page, this was NOT a revival. It was just like a fun experiment show. So they all did well. No hate ❤️
argggh. Not a fan :/ and I love Sutton!
Exactly. Steven Pasquale rocked it! The others, not so much. If it wasn’t for him, I’d think this was a community production. Kinda embarrassed for the rest of this cast!
I love Sutton, but she was woefully miscast in this role
I really don't like the Kate
This production was so I'll-advised it hurts!!! Lippa's musical definitely deserved a second life, but this........... ain't it.
This looks.... bad. Lol
