What's crazy is that 95% of all the special effects in this movie were done practically, not CGI. They actually crashed and exploded cars on a highway. They had a meat filled dummy for the falling glass pane death. They added the sharp pipe prosthetic for the girl in the car death. They had a dummy attached to string and manually pulled apart the guy when he gets cut into 3 sections. They went above and beyond for it and that's why it still looks great over 20 years later.

I liked how they connected all the characters together. I do wonder who is actually sending out the visions. Warning the characters. It can't be Death.
The elevator decapitation death actually happened at one of the hospitals in Houston with a doctor whose head got caught in the door. That was my uncles first call as a rookie paramedic back in 03 i think
That young kid at the dentist was originally supposed to be like 8-10 years old I believe, the scene is still the same in the script but they aged up the actor apparently cuz they felt it would be a bit much killing a kid that way
In the opening scene Kimberly's car keys are shown and her key chain is an evil eye bead. In Middle Eastern Culture, the evil eye is a talisman that wards off evil spirits and negative energy. On Kimberly's desk there is a book that says "Road Trip" with a keychain over the T reading "Road RIP", hinting at the crash. In Kim's bedroom, the plane on her bed side table is the same one from Alex's bedroom in the first movie. When Kimberly wakes up, listen carefully and you can hear the mortician's voice saying her name. Evan's death, in both the premonition and his actual death, involves both fire and facial disfigurement. When Evan is in the kitchen he leans over to get something out of the fridge and the letter magnets "HEY E" on the side of the fridge are shown. Then the "H" magnet falls into the container so the letters spell out the word "EYE", which foreshadows Evan's death. Also, the doll in the hallway is missing its right eye. When Evan is looking at his ring the horseshoe shape is pointing downwards which is considered bad luck. When Nora tucks Tim in and dims the lights, his face is illuminated with a skull outline, foreshadowing his death. A pigeon breaks through the window and gets inside the waiting room in the dentist's office. According to some superstitions, a bird being inside a building means that someone there will die. In Kimberly's premonition, Nora is unable to stop her car due to a water bottle underneath the brake pedal. As she frantically continues pushing the pedal she begins crushing the head of the bottle, which is similar to when Tim is crushed by the glass. An instrumental version of John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" from the first movie plays in the dentist's waiting room. The song is also playing when Rory takes the elevator up to Burke's apartment. When everyone is looking for Isabella barbed wire fences can be seen, foreshadowing Rory's death. Before Rory dies he saves Brian from being run over by a news van, the same van that later explodes which aids in his death. When Eugene tries to shoot himself, the gun has six bullets in it. He is the sixth survivor to die. William Bludworth foreshadows Clear's death when he says "Such fire in you!" When Kimberly blocks the off ramp she sees a road works sign reading "Next 180 feet". The car crash at the farm occurs next to the 180 marker. These are both references to Flight 180. The school bus full of kids chanting "pile-up" is from Mt. Abraham, the same school as all the victims from the first movie. It's a common misconception that Death only realises Isabella wasn't in the crash when Kimberly does, but she was never targeted at all. It is likely that Death just made it look like she was so that Kimberly and the others were off guard and easier to kill. The crash was based on the 125 car pileup on Interstate 75 in Ringgold, Georgia on March 14th 2002. Nora's death is said to be based on a real life incident of Dr. Hitoshi Nikaidoh, a surgical resident at a Houston hospital who was decapitated by a malfunctioning elevator in 2002. His shoulders were pinned by the doors and the ceiling sliced off most of his head as the elevator continued to go up. The scene may have also been inspired by a similar scene from the 2001 movie Down, a remake of the 1983 Dutch horror movie The Lift. Originally, Devon Sawa was to reprise his role of Alex in this movie but he couldn't due to scheduling conflicts. A newspaper clipping reveals that the character died off-screen by a falling brick to the head (his death was changed from a flesh-eating virus). Tim was initally supposed to be 9 years old but New Line Cinema decided it was too cruel to kill off such a young kid so they settled on the age of 15. Filmmakers say that the man hanging on the jail bars when Kimberly walks into the psychiatric hospital is put there to pay homage to Chief Bromden in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Real logs were tested for the crash scene but they didn't bounce enough so the logs are CGI. All of the news anchors featured in the movie were actual news anchors at local Vancouver news stations (where it was filmed). The movie was originally supposed to end with Kimberly and Officer Burke embracing in the hospital after Kimberly was revived.
THE THIRD ONE IS NEXT OMG OMG OMG YESSSSS! The third one is the best one and the deaths in it are next level and ICONIC! There’s an edit in there that is so CAMP and so GOOD i loved it!
The best one? Sims Coaster 3 is the Campiest. I honestly think this one is the best, it almost plays like a classic Slasher Sequel, more deaths, gorier, faster pace.... The third one is the beginning of the of the rails cartoon style deaths, plus a touch more (dark) comedy.
So funny that the dental scene horrified ya'll the most lol. Also, someone mentioned drowning scenes in movies being so peaceful. I think the most realistic one I've seen was in the movie Poseidon, hard to watch.
This one has a lot more hits and foreshadowing. Like how yall yall noticed the magnets said eye after the 'H' fell off. But before we see lottery dude you see a baby doll and an ambulance toy as well!
It's a play on words name 😉 Took me a minute to realize Gale Weathers from Scream is a pun - It's usually spelled Gail but because of her last name Weathers they spelled it like 'gale' force winds 😜
Can’t wait for you guys to watch the 3rd one now. You guys are great. It’s like checking up on 4 friends. The log truck scene is iconic, they’re making new one too can’t wait for it to come out
Devon Sawa wasn’t in this movie because of scheduling conflicts. He was filming another movie at the time Final Destination 2 was filming. And her name is actually Clear. Pronounced like Clear. Not Clair.
That damn highway scene with those logs YIKES that to me was the worst realistic death, I don’t drive behind ANYTHING won’t catch me slipping. 😂 Side note: main girl A.J cook is the beautiful JJ from criminal minds 💙 and Ali Larter loved her in heroes 😩
There was a movie writer/director/producer (Oscar-nominated for all three, all for different movies) who died like that, except it was a metal pipe instead of a log. Alan Pakula.
Devon sawa (Alex), and ali larter (clear). Both, were supposed to be on this movie. The idea of the directors was that only clear was going to die but not like this, they were planning something more interesting. And Alex was supposed to be the final guy, I think the directors actually wanted him to be part of at least, the 4 movies, but the actor, was busy at the time (he was doing a movie or something), so he was not able to appeared on this second one, bc of that, at the end they changed the whole thing.
I was not traumatized to this movie because I'm already immune to gore/shocking scenes from horror movies before finally watching this last year. Machine girl, Hostel, Green Inferno, Terrifier, Wrong Turn movies to name a few that traumatized me first.
I've always had a bad reaction to getting the numbing (they always hit the nerve and it's so painful, no matter which dentist I have). So up until college, they just didn't numb me. I did pretty well with it too because the cavities were never deep, but can't get away with it anymore. The only good news for me teeth wise is I never got any wisdom teeth so I've never had to go through that.
Everyone in my generation sites that they avoid driving behind trucks with heavy loads at all costs specifically because of this movie. It was so traumatic watching that scene and we've never recovered.
I saw it at home with my family when pagers were a thing. I was about 8. Let's just say it went off at a VERY inconvenient time. Something jumped down and I jumped up.😂
The 2nd one has the best opening scene for me…but I always felt one thing that made it weaker than the 1st & 3rd was the fact the characters were strangers. I think it makes for a better movie when the characters have some kind of established relationship already, like classmates.
I can't believe that Evil Dead is almost last in the poll. That franchise is chef's kiss Single entry suggestions are: Talk to Me (2022), It Follows (2014), Jennifer's Body (2009), Barbarian (2022), The Thing (1982), Carrie (1976), Arachnophobia (1990), You're Next (2011) and The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014) Selected entries in franchises (wikipedia the sequels): Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 3, and New Nightmare. Friday the 13th 1, 2, Freddy's vs. Jason, and 2009 remake. , Hellraiser 1, 2, 3, and 2022 reboot, Wrong Turn (2003), Dawn of the Dead (original and remake) Total franchises (they're not all good but at least entertaining): Insidious, Predator, Saw
Last time I saw this film was like 2012 and a couple years ago I was on the highway and I started having a moment of crazy Deja Vu because the same type of vehicles were to my left and to my right, front and behind🤣🤣 I was legit starting to freak out a bit lmao
Crazy thing.... On our way to see this, a pickup speeds past with 2 2x4s wrapped with barbed wires dragging, flinging sparks!! I start screaming Final Destination, Final Destination!! Made him pull 4 lanes over n slow down.😂😂
Unfortunately Kimberly and the officer died in a wood chipper related accident after the events of this movie. However... this could be considered non-canon because the newspaper only appears in an optional 'choose your own adventure' scenario in Final Destination 3, where practically every kill has an alternate version.
I love how death was like, "what if I switch it up in this movie and decide to go backwards?" And then did just exactly that. Although, I do think axing Alex offscreen and then axing Clear in this movie was a bit of a misplay. Would've loved to see those two trying to survive and maybe help people through the series also escape death. But alas.
(Writing this after writing my comment cause infeel like it may come off rude and I apologize I'm just so passionate about movies especially very well thought out ones 😅 please dont take any offense) I hear you but clearly each sequence is unique in the way they have their premonitions theyd have to search through the news daily until they came upon a major tragedy, travel there without dying because death is still going to be after them, as we saw for clear, then figure out who had the premonitions, basically by the time they do all that atleast half the survivors would die and theres a MASSIVE chance that one of them or both would die as well. It's just not practical for the types of movies these are. It worked with sidney in the scream movies because she was always directly involved in some way shape or form, she didnt have to actively search for "ghost face murderes" 1000 miles away that was happening to some random person for no reason at all. It would be way too complicated to map it all out and have it be successful. Her death on screen was a tool saying "death will never cease, not even in a sequel".
My mom still doesn't drive behind any kind of truck until this day and I know lots of people don't either because of this movie🤣 If I remember correctly, the pile up scene are all practical effect and stunts, except the log bounced on to the police car that they have to use CGI, bcs logs don't bounced like that.
Fun fact. There was a filmed plot where Alex and Clear had sex. And then Alex died saving Clear. She breaks deaths time line as she became pregnant from Alex. Brought life from death as mentioned in the second movie
This one was so traumatic, they really amped it up. Kat was my favorite character though; I would have her exact reaction to all the death shit happening. I thought Rory asking Kimberly to take care of his drug shit and porn before his mom saw it was kind of sweet, actually. Fun facts: AJ Cook, Kimberly''s actress, went on to star on Criminal Minds in a lead role. Devon Sawa, who played Alex, had a scheduling conflict that prevented him from being in the sequel. If he had, he and Clear would have had a child together. Ali Larter, who played Clear, broke out in the late 90s/early 00s, and is still active today. She was in Heroes, which is one of my favorite tv shows. Also, sadly, Clear would have survived had Devon Sawa been able to reprise his role. Thank you so much for reacting to this series, and please continue!

I liked how they connected all the characters together. I do wonder who is actually sending out the visions. Warning the characters. It can't be Death.
Can't wait for the next reaction. The 3rd one is my favorite.
But the highway crash sequence is the most iconic of all the death visions.
Well now you guys have to watch Arachnophobia from 1990 just from the reaction to a spider on screen.
I agree, although it creeps me out to the max and I'll be hiding too. "The Mist" would be good too with one scene insane.
29:40 in case no one noticed, Eugene is Kratos from God of War Original Voice Actor
The elevator decapitation death actually happened at one of the hospitals in Houston with a doctor whose head got caught in the door. That was my uncles first call as a rookie paramedic back in 03 i think
Rory's death was honestly the saddest for me out of any of them in the series because my man was funny as hell.
That young kid at the dentist was originally supposed to be like 8-10 years old I believe, the scene is still the same in the script but they aged up the actor apparently cuz they felt it would be a bit much killing a kid that way
I remember being so paranoid about life after watching this in theaters, lol
The Police officer at the beginning plays Jimmy Olsan in The New Adventures of Superman season 1
48.30 "does that count as painless"
"nooooo... he felt that"
killed me 😂
It's all part of Death's game like you can't die until your turn, signs before someone's next, etc.
11:01 You can see her seat belt kept her in place, while her friends were flung sideways and piled on top of each other. So there's that.
This many years later I never noticed the kid dropped the propane tank OMG
William Bludworth foreshadows Clear's death when he says "Such fire in you!"
When Kimberly blocks the off ramp she sees a road works sign reading "Next 180 feet".
Clear... FYI.
Girl chicks writing fanfic back then named their female character Clear.
And that's where Biyatch first appeared.
I remember the BRUTAL nature of the crash scene. trust me saw this in theaters people were terrified
Poor Alex, killed by a brick to the face. That's personal.
It’s THE GRIM REAPER death there dealing with not a serial killer but the grim reaper himself
I was cracking up at everyone struggling through the dentist drilling scene & then Cojo said "JUST KILL HIM!" 😂
Corey's reactions are my fave, haha. I was like "same" during the spider scene 🕷
So funny that the dental scene horrified ya'll the most lol. Also, someone mentioned drowning scenes in movies being so peaceful. I think the most realistic one I've seen was in the movie Poseidon, hard to watch.
Oh I can not wait for Blake to watch final destination 3 😂😭 movie ruined something for me for almost 10 years 💀
“i didn’t know we were watching the saw movies” LMAO i think blake would DIE watching those especially the ones after the first 3
This one has a lot more hits and foreshadowing. Like how yall yall noticed the magnets said eye after the 'H' fell off. But before we see lottery dude you see a baby doll and an ambulance toy as well!
I'm with Cory. I like that writers named her Clear Rivers and not Clare
It’s stupid there’s no such name as CLEAR
It's a play on words name 😉
Took me a minute to realize Gale Weathers from Scream is a pun - It's usually spelled Gail but because of her last name Weathers they spelled it like 'gale' force winds 😜
😂
Side note: main girl A.J cook is the beautiful JJ from criminal minds 💙 and Ali Larter loved her in heroes 😩
44:35 - loved that all 4 of our bois had a different reaction to the explosion 🔥
Death edging cracked me up 😂
The first 3 FD movies are my favorite
Same bruh
Everyone in my generation sites that they avoid driving behind trucks with heavy loads at all costs specifically because of this movie. It was so traumatic watching that scene and we've never recovered.
44:38 the reaction of the guy on the far right made me subscribe omg 😂😂😂 too funny
Is guess it’s safe to assume that Corey has not seen “Arachnophobia”?
I have not 😨
I saw it at home with my family when pagers were a thing.
These films really keep you on your toes. You guys have a new sub. Have a good one lads.
I can't believe that Evil Dead is almost last in the poll. That franchise is chef's kiss
Single entry suggestions are: Talk to Me (2022), It Follows (2014), Jennifer's Body (2009), Barbarian (2022), The Thing (1982), Carrie (1976), Arachnophobia (1990), You're Next (2011) and The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)
Selected entries in franchises (wikipedia the sequels): Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 3, and New Nightmare. Friday the 13th 1, 2, Freddy's vs. Jason, and 2009 remake. , Hellraiser 1, 2, 3, and 2022 reboot, Wrong Turn (2003), Dawn of the Dead (original and remake)
Total franchises (they're not all good but at least entertaining): Insidious, Predator, Saw
Thank you!
Last time I saw this film was like 2012 and a couple years ago I was on the highway and I started having a moment of crazy Deja Vu because the same type of vehicles were to my left and to my right, front and behind🤣🤣 I was legit starting to freak out a bit lmao
He had plenty of time to move out of the way of the falling glass.
I'm loving Blake's reactions to all deaths lol
Next time on Final Destination is the 🎵Roller coaster of love🎵
I'm glad y'all havent seen FD3,it is my favourite and I can't wait for u guys to react to it
Yeah, you need to watch everything closely in these movies. If you're watching all of them, there will be more callbacks to previous movies.
Ohh you gotta go to the next film in the franchise soon as I'm still haunted by one particular scene. I'm gonna keep an eye out for your reaction 😅
I agree, Clear’s death killed the movie for me. She should’ve led the franchise. Devon Sawa didn’t return as Alex due to scheduling conflicts
I think her survival would take away from the series
i think her survival was pretty realistic considering death never stops to claim his victims
@@kaivonnix1100 'Never stops to claim his victims' There are five movies that say exactly the opposite. Death never stops TRYING to claim its victims
@@TheKyrix82agreed especially considering the only reason she even survived was cause she locked herself in a psychward
Crazy thing.... On our way to see this, a pickup speeds past with 2 2x4s wrapped with barbed wires dragging, flinging sparks!! I start screaming Final Destination, Final Destination!! Made him pull 4 lanes over n slow down.😂😂
That's a clue at 15:29, the 3 red letters hanging on the fridge says "eye"!! Evan dies from a ladder that crushes one of his eyes.🤔
I love the bit when they realised they were indirectly ‘connected’ to all the victims in the first movie 😩🫣🫣🥰 #greatstorytelling 🥹
I can watch this reaction many times and i still love it ❤️ I really love how you all reacted at the end of this movie 😂
My mom still doesn't drive behind any kind of truck until this day and I know lots of people don't either because of this movie🤣
If I remember correctly, the pile up scene are all practical effect and stunts, except the log bounced on to the police car that they have to use CGI, bcs logs don't bounced like that.
Wait till Final Destination 3 😈👹🎢
That’s the best film
The highway sequence is crazy to watch.
This opening Scene is MY all time personal FEAR and FAVORITE! Freaks me the F out! I NOPE every time I'm in any kind of situation!
The dumb cop was the Handsome Hobbit in Supergirl. Marcus.
Fun facts:
AJ Cook, Kimberly''s actress, went on to star on Criminal Minds in a lead role.
