Here's an update. Some I knew what year's, a few I didn't. Leonard Stone - 2011. Robert Mandan - 4-2018. Chuck Barris, Robert Guillaume, Ji-Tu Cumbuka - 2017. Fayette Pinkney (The Three Degrees) 2009.
This was a wonderful trip down memory. However, this needs updating. Della Reese passed earlier this week...Ron Glass also passed as well. I can't recall exactly let me check.
This is kinda sad.smh.......the one thing i noticed, was that majority of the sistas aged gracefully and are still very beautiful.........our sistas of today probably will be unable to age so gracefully; between the butt injections, breast implants, tattoos, hair weaves, excessive makeup, and some with just a straight up ratchet lifestyle......many want see this type of beauty in their old age.smh
The EP where Fred thought he was dying.lamont told Rollo do get the best liquor available.spare no expense.rollo said I can't go now.why not the liquor store is still open.lmao
Oh yeah, you forgot Eric Kilpatrick, Whopper Chopper man, Gus, JoJo Jackson, Stymie, Alvin Childress, Lucky Leroy, Slick Skillet, Elephant man, Slappy White, 3 degrees, Fast Fanny, Rollo, Pat Morita, Aunt Ethel, Jonathan Harris, Ross Martin, Julio, Haywood Nelson, desdamona, to name a few!
Great tribute! Always wondered who the "cute" actress was that played Fred's niece Elizabeth! I was hoping to find out the names of the actresses that played Elizabeth/Aunt Esther's sisters and church affiliates as they made several appearances on the show.
The woman that played Lamont's date, Denise, is actress Lauren Jones, not Margaret Avery. Lauren Jones is her professional name, but her birth name is Gloria Jones, she's married to the director of the iconic 70's movie "Cooley High", Michael Schultz. In non-acting capacities, she goes by the name of Gloria Schultz...
@@ShawnC.T. yes indeed! Speaking of Juice, many may not have known that the detective that was questioning the guys was Rony Clanton who played in "The Education of Sonny Carson!
Don't forget Chuck Barris, Mary Alice, Rodney, The first Woodrow, 2nd Woodrow, the writer of Steinberg and Son, the crooked white preacher with glasses Freeman King, Goldstein, Billy Eckstein, the gray foxes and so on
Amazing how Fred and Grady portrayed older people and they were only in their 40's at the time. BTW, Bernie Taub is Albert Hall. Albert Brooks is white.
Sadly Ron Glass died i believe last year, was young i think only 71 (i didn't google) and Rollo just died he was 80. Funny a few of these women in this show are still beautiful and don't look a day over 50, if that! I miss all the great actors of the day. Johnny Carson etc etc etc. Life is so short..*
What about the woman who played Juanita's daughter...she was fine!! Also the woman who played Lamont's girlfriend when he moved into his own apartment. I believe she was also Mrs. Waters, Gina's mother from the Martin show.
Ira Smalls did you like aunt Esther?never miss a fight between Fred and aunt esther.everybody on the show was terrific.favorite eps are steinburg and son.and pretty much everything in the first and secon seasons.i like the one where they're playing poker and Fred kept interrupt the game.it felt like the last 2 years of sas were hard to watch.it just declined.i also like Sanford from 1980 with call.
