One thing to note is srps (Scottish railway preservation society) wanted to preserve a line but couldn’t decide which to preserve srps went with the Bo’ness and kinnel railway and a breakaway group of members went for the strasphey
Scotland had some unique locomotive classes. If all the Caledonian and/or Highland engines restored to operation someday, I would picture them running on this line. Who knows, maybe 4472 could trek up there one day, but I doubt the track could handle it.
YEEEESS! SCOTLAND! I'm American, and my favorite city in the UK would have to be Edinburgh, but my favorite part of the UK is easily Scotland, which I was the first in my family to visit and which we explored extensively last summer. In fact, we actually visited the Strathspey Railway. Fun fact, I was in love with the Ivatt 2MT Class already, but I had no idea what locomotive I was expecting to come around the corner as I stood on the walkway at Abbey Moore. Imagine my wild rapture when I saw the Ivatt 2MT BR 46512 rounding the corner beyond the platform tender-first!
I was completely distracted from the commentary at 6:21 by the music because I kept waiting for the fact that it was a remix of Donald and Douglass's theme to become more obvious. At 6:24 I thought the remix had started in earnest, only to be thrown off by 6:26. Then I heard 6:29 and thought "This time for certain!" Turns out I was just crazy... wait... 7:20?! THERE IT IS! Nice Twin Trouble reference, by the way.
I sort of wish Scotland’s railways did a bit better in preservation. Most companies got only 1 or 2 locomotive saved. So cool that steam still lives in Caledonia.
Had the chance to serve a four year apprenticeship up there (Remember seeing you up there one day) sadly, due to covid I only served 22 months and now in the motor trade instead! 😅
hey max can you do a guide rail on lswr no 735 /LBSCR no 68 clapam thanks for all the vedeos and maby you should get in to n scale with a n scale terrer
SCOTLAND FOREVER! 🏴
Thank you Scotlands Government the Government who have re-opened old lines and opened the most new stations in whole of Britain
Such a shame Scotland got short changed in the preserved locomotive scene. If only the Barry phenomenon had been repeated elsewhere.
cool ! what game?
Yes a real shame. But the railways they are left with are absolutely mint because of it.

I hope it was a good experience all the same! I've only been at the railway on this one day in 2019 so that was a slim chance.
