idk why you sidechained the 808, you can’t really hear the attack on it when it’s slapping those high notes that are super tasty. just my opinion, beats fire though
Because he’s just an amateur with a following consisting of only people who have been making music under a year unless they’re just super fans who have been producing for 5 years and still ain’t grasped it lmao. He created a whole melody and then halftimed it so the rest of the notes weren’t playing when he could have just time stretched it and lowered the sample rate in Edison to get that dark feel he clearly doesn’t know how to create.
These UA-cam producers just have good kits and good plugins. Their theory is flawed

Can you explain what you do with the fruity peak controller?
He's side chaining the kick and 808. He set it to everytime the kick comes in, the 808 ducks (lowering in volume). Some people do this because sometimes the 808 and kick clash into eachother because theyre both low frequency sounds and/ or its more punchier in the mix.

3:46 When you bring the kick to the same note you have the key set as a 'C', while the rest of your instruments are scaled at the 'D'. Why is that?
Percussive instruments aren't melodic and their base sound is "tuned" to C. Same reason the hihats and claps lie on C.
@@nadavg9934 They should be set to the root note of the scale though. It's not really an issue here as C is in the D Minor scale but if you don't normally set them to the Root of the scale it usually sounds off.
