Liguria is stunning - my preference over any other coastal area hands down. The drivers are my singular complaint here - especially their disregard for the safety of cyclists, peds and other drivers.

Hi John. Yes, you can take your bike on certain trains. You can take a dog on most trains, I think they are free in a carrier but there is a cost if not.
