    Hey guys, in this video, we're taking you on an extraordinary journey to one of the most intriguing and historically significant places on Earth - the Korean Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ.
    Our adventure in Korea had its twists and turns, but the excitement of visiting this unique location was unparalleled. Exploring the DMZ, the border between North and South Korea, was at the top of our list, and it didn't disappoint.
    To access the DMZ, we joined a guided tour since independent visits are not allowed. Just like any international travel, we had our passports ready for security checks. Dressing conservatively and avoiding any military-themed clothing was a must to respect the rules.
    Navigating public transportation in a foreign country is always an adventure, especially when you don't speak the language. Thanks to the kindness and patience of a local vendor, we successfully figured out the way to buy bus tickets and reach our tour meetup point.
    Our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge, sharing insights about the history of the two Koreas, the war, and the creation of the DMZ. We soaked up fascinating facts during the ride, but certain areas at the border were off-limits for filming, understandably due to security concerns. To book a tour visit: 👉eng.cosmojin.com/en
    Once we crossed the DMZ, our first mission was food. We savored some unique snacks at the border, setting the stage for our visit to the Goseong DMZ Museum. The museum's viewing deck provided an incredible vantage point to gaze directly into North Korea, a sight few get to witness. And, of course, we couldn't resist exploring the DMZ souvenir shop.
    If you're eager to learn more and discover the DMZ's hidden gems, join us on this remarkable journey. Stick around till the end because we're sharing some fun facts that will leave you in awe of this extraordinary place.

    I see on your site that you have North Korea colored in as though you have been there... Are you counting this as having been?!
    I have been to the border of the DMZ on both sides. Absolutely amazing experiences... but seeing it from a distance isn't it at all.

      No we’re not really counting it and plan to actually visit one day. They do have tours from China. I just met a man who went and he was telling me all about it.

    I'm totally confused. How can you visit every country. Even if you were super rich some countries just carnt be entered for a whole number of reasons so imagine my bewilderment to see your in north Korea a country that is closed off to the outside world so have no idea how your there in the first place.

    • @GrowingUpWithoutBorders
      @GrowingUpWithoutBorders  3 місяці тому

      Yes you are right some are super hard to enter with certain passports, though with our passports if we did enter North Korea (we haven't yet) we could, as for my dad he has a different passport so he wouldn't be allowed to enter.

    You make this sound so amazing/special/cool/nice! But I wonder... These young ladies are now young adults. Can they choose what they want to do with their lives? Suppose one of them said: "Mom, dad, I'm not going with you," what would their parents reaction be? When I was their age, I'd have liked to choose my own career path, and not follow my parents. My heart goes out to them. I hope they can make their own choices. I hope they're free.

    • @GrowingUpWithoutBorders
      @GrowingUpWithoutBorders  5 місяців тому +2

      Yep very soon they’ll all be in their own way. One in Spain, one wants to join the Swiss army and the other wants to live in NZ. That’s going to be quite the challenging time when everyone goes their own way. Sometimes we talk about it at dinner time and it brings tears to our eyes but it’s a part of life. Kids grow up. It will be interesting to see where their future spouses will be from and which country they’ll settle in.
