i went to marlborough and my summer of y7 was the summer htey began the reconstruction, so essentially i was the last y6 group in the old building. the interior of the old building was very ugly, it was often that you'd see floorboards popping out, so this building, i would say, is a lot better. it has more outdoor areas, and it's a more free space for the children. i went to chelsea academy for secondary school, and the design of this building looks very similar, especially considering teh 30 million pound difference. i also live opposite MPS and i can see it from my bedroom window, it's easier on the eyes than the victorian building.
They knocked down the old building because the new building looks 200 times better than old building! Of course it is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, eh?😄
how old are you now, beause i might know who you are, i never studied in the new building, i was the last year 6 group in the old one, they let us draw on the walls towards the end of the year, im 18 now for reference
I used to go to malborough but I wasn’t able to go to the new building cause my grandfather got ill right before it was all built, so I had to go back to korea. I have good memories there. 🥲
@@charlieboye2009 it actually looks more like chelsea academy, i went to the old mps for primary, the old building's interior was horrendous, and there wasn't a large amount of outdoor area was very limited, so i think the new building is a lot safer for the kids and a lot more free.
@@imanebouziane3412 Not convinced though, the new one has maximized the space, and whilst that is good, architecturally it looks like an office block in London, Banal and Bland or if you'd like, you could put up 'Metropolitan Police' on the side of it and it outwardly it would resemble one. I wonder why the styling of modern buildings do away with aesthetics, is it a cost thing or are modern architects just plain old boring.
Why did they even knock down the old building. It looked 100 times better than what was newly constructed

Definitely not as historic and cool looking, but undeniably more efficient, more spacious, and overall more functional.

absolutely!
So sad they knocked down my old school. It had character and charm plus a long history. Glad I made a visit to see it before it was demolished.
I go there now I could be able to know you whats you name?

They should have left it alone and just turned it into a cigarette factory! 🤣
